It's remarkably beautiful inside. Lots of high-end craftsmanship went into it. Except now it has no parishioners and is practically defunct. So it collects money from the City to operate as a poor and homeless people's drop-in. They hand out drug kits and food and people sleep on the floor. It's messy, dirty and crawling with bed bugs. The people who built the church out of nothing would weep.
@@dixonpinfold2582 Thank you for the reply. I assumed that was the state of affairs, no parishioners. At least the building is still there. Many churches in Toronto have disappeared, burned down or have a condo tower in the back.
It is the old buildings that give the city character. Every time they pull down old houses and another condo goes up, the city loses a piece of its soul.
The church on the corner is so beautiful. The very best of 19th century Toronto architecture.

Thats always been the plan
It won't be long until the government takes a piece of our souls as well.
Moonwalk wheel chair style ... I laughed out loud .... this is certainly one of the most "dynamic" intersections in old Toronto.
Just moved to Dundas and Sherbourne, definitely much different from small town BC where we come from
I left TO in 1981 for BC and am now retired in Campbell River ... TO is too big !
Dear Lord, why in the world would you move here? Why?
@@PunchBuggyDreams Cheap rent, can walk everywhere interesting.
@@randyt3558 Oh okay. Those are very good reasons.
Thanks and keep it up
Lived at 201 Sherbourne while going to GBC in 1994.....It was scary then...looks a lot worse now....
