Just DON'T, trust me. Chose the Aulos HAKA, OR...if you don't want to risk/experiment, stick to amazing Yamaha YRA-300 Series!
How does the quality of the tone compare with that of the Aulos 709B 'Haka'?
Have Yamaha responded successfully to their rival's offering with an even better recorder that sounds even less plastic in the tone?
Aulos HAKA is incomparably better sounding recorder than that disappointing Ecodear toy _(having both of them)_
HAKA has a rich, reedy, complex tone quality which renders them most useful as solo instruments for the late baroque solo and ensemble literature - but less ideal for recorder ensembles. They are rather sensitive to articulation (the air control) and therefore best suited for more advanced players

How do you play in the Alto the notes on treble above d7 (g6 real in piano). I see you play up to an a7 (d7 real in piano) I only know how to play the positions in the soprano until d#7, but I see that you play the e7, f#7, g7 and a7. Can you show and explain those positions? Thank you.
Do you have a zenon alto to compare low f?
Lovely sound for a plastic recorder, but looks like it gets hoarse very often. How does it function now?
You're right, this particular instrument was cold. Very cold actually: It had just arrived from outdoors and it's winter here. It definitely needs warming up in order not to clog up too quickly. Apart from that, the sound compares well to the Yamaha YRA-312B and the YRA-314B. The feeling / haptic however is a bit too smooth (or even slippery) to my liking. At this moment, I still prefer the haptic of the YRA-312B and the YRA-314B. But maybe this is a matter of habit. I'll keep you posted here. :-)
Any reason to stick with plastic instead of wooden recorder?
For double recorder playing (according to the 'tibiae pares' tradition), you need two recorders that are as identical as possible, with an intonation that is not too sensitive to changes in breath pressure, and with a second octave B and C that can be played with the thumb hole closed. The Yamaha's tick these boxes. Since I love wood, I'd be happy to find a maker of wooden recorders that are up to these specs!
