It’s an absolute crime that this is not on any streaming platform except youtube😢ive been trying to add this to my playlist for years 😢
Growing up in DC during the 80’s this was played on WHUR with Melvin Lindsey. Good old days! I miss the old CC😢
One of THEE slickest that Melvin and Kevin Played. I understand the tears bruh
This is my cousin. We all miss him. But, I’m glad that he put love in your heart. He really loved his wife and dedicated this to her.
we appreciate him and your family my condolences on his passing i wasn’t aware of that ❤❤❤be blessed 🙏🏽
My condolences to you and the family. D.C. has nothing but love for him and especially this classic. ✌🏾🤎💪🏾
@@dcdynastybaseball6277 I'm not sure, but they used to play his music on WHUR 96.3 back in the day.
This man is my childhood friend and brother. We sang together for years and I will forever cherish the memories of growing up in our group "The Black Five" later "The 4 Steps Beyond" and the many shows with our band Experience Unlimited. Amazing talent, amazing person. Rest In Peace Toney until we sing again in heaven!
Hello Xola, do you remember French Burke? My brother use to sing in Toney's Studio back in the early-mid 80's. he passed in 85 and i always wondered if Toney had an demos or recordings of my brother.
It was me and my 1st wife, my soulmate song man😭😭😭may Tony and my sweet love Marshay Denise Mclemore R.I.P 😭😭😭
This is and will always be one of those great songs that does not get the proper recognition. I read a lot of the comments before I posted this and FYI; Toney Fountaine has passed away some time ago. Such and sad and waste. Also the great voice that does the background on this song was Barbara Malone who was also a DC native passed on a few years ago. Her passing was one of the saddest days of my life.We had been High School friends and she sung at my fathers funereal. Enjoy this song and smile.
HANDS DOWN GREATEST SONG EVER
Definitely a Baltimore DMV CLASSIC....
Thank you so much for posting this song, I grew up on Benning Road in S.E, DC and finding this song takes me back to the days of hanging out and listening to real music. Memories WOW!!!!
Yes indeed my sistah! I remember the times on Benning Road, S.E., just going to parties and hanging out with people! This song is definitely back there with The Moments, The Delfonics, Skip Mahoney and the Casuals, etc.......
This WILL be played for my wedding!!!!

The sounds of the city! Peace D.C.
Kevin Slow Jammin James used to jam this one to open up his second hour into the Quiet Storm on 96.3 WHUR... then he would play Cameo - Sparkle and Confunkshun’s - Straight from the Heart
Classic Quiet Storm
1 of the most underrated slow jams in the 1980's
Classic!!! stayed in rotation on the quiet storm on WHUR
The late great local (DMV) area talent , also had a hit with the 5 stairsteps old hit -"come back" and did a very good long version of it....RIP TONY FONTAINE !!!

QUIET STORM. I had this song on cassette with other quiet storm music. The tape deck ate the cassette. I was so blown. I never knew who song it back then but it has been on my mind for 20 years.
Sadly he passed away in 1999...but his music lives on!
This is what I was trying to find out. No wonder I didn't hear about his death, I joined the Marines in February 1999 and didn't get back to DC fully until mid November.
Dmv legend 💯
I've been looking for this song since 2004
Just happened to stumble on this song. It's magnificent! A rare hard-to-find classic, I'd hear this on WHUR, and I'm from Baltimore, just an hour's drive away!

Still listening today to Quiet Storm! As a DJ myself, I love to play the oldies but the romantic songs are the one that really bring the memories!
Man I DONT hear it on the radio NO MORE !!!! I've call and requested it and they won't play it ?!?!?!?
back in the day when we had cassette tapes i captured Booker T's Treasure Chest and Scott Jarrett's The image of you together in one hour. Thanks Melvin Lindsey for taking me there...
I've been loving this for decades. The sax is too cool. Such a romantic song. Can't say enough. Take me back with a certain somebody.

This is a very beautiful song...
I love this song and the way that Toney Fountaine sings it is simply awesome and loving!
So glad I found this info! I lived in the Balt-Wash area late 1980s and fell in love with this man!!! WHUR 96.3 played this song and "Come Back" all the time. The man can sing & with the saxophonist, they make a 'sultry' sound..gotta get these on my Ipod!!!...ALL THAT!
Now this is old school magic when you feel the music
For 15 years I have been thinking of this song and who sung it. I knew some of the words and I had it on a cassette tape back in the day until the tape deck ate it.
With the help of "Google" I
put some of the words in and I saw this man and I just knew it was him. I never knew who sung it back in the day of listening to {♡ WHUR ♡} 96.3 every night. Old memories WOW.
I will never loose this song again. I am a D.C baby as well.
