It looks like this update improved Grand Khavatari in PVE but made it worse in PVP. I don't think this update will make it popular again, unfortunately. However, I might have misunderstood the patch notes translation, and perhaps GK has the potential to become as popular as Templars or Assassin.
I think this is an issue that needs to be evaluated after the summoner's update. However, as you said, PVE may have improved, but PVP has become weaker, so I think people who go to war will not choose it.
