He also defers to his teammates so they can find their rhythm and get hot. If he wanted to, he could go for 40/20/15 every game, but he's not a selfish player. This is why his on/off numbers are the best in NBA history, and why his stats don't fully reflect that.

I am a nuggets fan and I watch every single Nuggets game full. Jokic being so good is a curse for him. He actually makes everyone around him better and guys get contracts they never could in any other team, which results in the Team having a short quality rotation. He does need to play SOME defense. He doesn't even get a hand up most of the time when people blow by the perimeter guys and come in for layups. The team's D is absolutely atrocious. They can only hope for missed shots, or maybe a couple steals here or there. That's the defense.

    • @skap_attack
      @skap_attack  5 днів тому +37

Agreed. The front office though should see beyond this. They should have just built a defensive unit around him. Limited offensive guys who are ELITE defenders, like 10 deep. Jokic will uplift them and lead the offense. Unfortunately the entire team is average to poor defenders and THAT is their major issue.

Thing I really respect about Jokic is the fact that he has a LOT of excuses, a lot of reason as to why he should leave the franchise. His teamates are inconssistent, the bench is non-existent, and the gm of the nuggets isn't helping build around their superstar while he is averaging a 30 point triple double every single night and continously breaking historical records. YET he doesn't put the blame on his teamates, he doesn't put the blame on the franchise and instead starts thinking about what HE can do MORE. This man is a class act, because I know so many players in the NBA right now, that if they were in the same position as Jokic, would use those excuses to leave and shift the blame to others.

Another small point about Big Honey: the Nuggets played 5 games in 7 nights over the last week. Yes, Jokic played in all 5. 36.8 minutes per game, 29.6 ppg, 8.0 assists (4.5 to 1 assist to TO ratio), 10.6 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 52.2% from 3 point range. As Jokić's countryman, I think I understand why he didn't request a trade, bully or blackmail the Nuggets' staff to get better players on his team by threatening to leave. It all comes down to loyalty, humility and what we call "inat" in Serbian (the word originates from Turkish, and you can translate it to something as "spite"). He doesn't want to abandon the team that believed in him, and made him what he is today. Instead he is saying "You all think I am not good enough?! I'll show you, even if I have to do everything myself!". I cheered when Westbrook came on board, because I think he could do what Rasheed Wallace did for the Pistons back in the day. He brings intensity and that "never give up" attitude the rest of the Nuggets' team often need to wake up on the floor. I hope the team comes together in the second half of the season, and wins another title...if not this year, then the next for sure.

His impact very well may be the greatest, or top 3 greatest what's, all-time and he will never get the full credit he deserves for it at no fault of his own. He genuinely will retire with easily the least help of any modern all-time great player. Theres no chance he forces a trade, but it would be incredible to see him with a solid team and a true #2. Just kind of sad. Jamal Murray may be the worst #2 ever, especially when accounting for all the years hes already wasted of Jokers prime being out, and definitely when including last playoffs that he had one of the worst volume shooting playoffs ever.

Fans can and should write letters to the NBA, insisting they feature prominently, all the time, at every televised and or broadcasted event, game or promotion, Nikola Jokic. The NBA can and should be doing what they can to get Joker and his family US Citizenship (assuming he does not already have it). The NBA should be doing more with Joker...he has the potential to lead/influence, in a very positive way, the next two generations of NBA fans. His example on and off the court is 5 Star A Plus excellence. He is the White Knight (no pun intended) that the NBA needs.

He and them. Ultimately I do think Shai is going to get MVP. And I think OKC is going to win the title. They play Cleveland twice in an 8 day span on Jan 8-16th. Looking forward to that and there will be several videos on both of those teams.

While your “goat” points fingers at everyone else but the person who’s at fault (himself) these are players who know when to step up and take responsibility for their teams. I’m talking about (Jokic, Jordan, Bird) those are the real men.

As a Denver nuggets fan, I would love to see Jokić get traded to an organization that is willing to build a great team around him. As Charles Barkley said, Jokic walking away with only 1 ring would be a shame. I would be extremely happy for Jokic if he was able to go to a team and win a few more rings

Our European club culture is different. Once we commit to a team unless it is a clear rank up in the level you are playing at (I am talking a rank up in the division you are playing like from third division to 2nd division, which can’t happen in the US because the league is closed) you don’t leave the team. It’s just considered illoyal in Europe and something we make fun off and would call you a mercenary for. And teams in Europe are much mire than just teams and owners they usually are also the cities and it’s fan as club culture in europe is deeply rooted to the city of the club. This is the reason we usually won’tmove teams unless we are traded. It’s a difference in perspective.

NBA doesn't want to market Non-American players as their face of the league and that is setting the reason for the decline.
Throughout Lebron's tenure, NBA was putting up with
    Load Management
    Flopping
    Jumping ships & Chasing rings
and still every media outlet narrative was "Lebron needs help"
Giannis won a chip with Chris Middleton & Jrue holiday as his teammates. Lets compare both of them with D Wade and Bosh. Nope. But we won't talk about Giannis.
Jokic won a chip with Jamal Murray & MPJ as his teammates. Lets compare both of them with Kyrie Irving and K Love. Nope. But we won't talk about Jokic either
