Therefore Eve was mother of all the living, the ones with the breath of God descendents of Adam and Eve. In 2:22,23 specifies Woman is her name because she was taken out of Man. (not male and female) There are a lot of differences between the 2 couples. The first couple were free to rule over all animals on the earth and could eat almost anything. Second couple were not allowed to eat but fruit and lived in harmony with the animals inside the garden of Eden only. As modern humans, who (through modern medicine) are just bouncing back from life limits of 60ish years have a struggle thinking outside of our reality. With a lifespan of nearly 1,000 years, things were way different in those days. We know the names of Cain, Abel, and Seth, and that Adam/Eve had other sons/daughters. We're not told the origin of Cain's wife, nor whether Abel was married, nor the origin of Seth's wife. We're also not told Cain's age when he got married (that I'm aware of). It may not have been a sister, it may've been a niece. But we also don't know what man's DNA structure was in those days. I believe God changed man's DNA when we sinned, to limit our days to less than 1,000 years. I'd be willing to bet He changed man's DNA once again post-flood when he limited man's days to 120 years. Did He change man's DNA again at the tower of Babel? Is this where ethnicity variances come into play when He gave them various languages? It makes sense to me when considering the various incursions of "the Sons of God" mixing their seed with the seed of women, that God made subtle changes to the DNA sequence to make it more difficult to produce the same kind of Nephilim. It would also suggest later Nephilim were smaller than the original ones. Yeah, I think you're right about their marriage. I just read a verse today, Exodus 6:29 that seems to say Moses's dad married his aunt. In his “Guide for the Perplexed” written in 1109AD and translated into Hebrew in 1204AD, Rabbi Maimonides commentary on Genesis says there were other humans besides Adam. And Nahmanides, an authority on the Torah in 1250AD, draws similar conclusions about other humans besides Adam. I’m not saying they were right or wrong, but pointing out the fact that the idea of other humans existing besides Adam and Eve is not new. And the commentaries predate Darwin by several centuries, so you can’t say they were being sympathetic to evolution.
