  • Guitar and violin, sophisticated instruments in a spectacular room, played by Stephan Besan (violin) and Christoph Stadtler (guitar), two masters of their craft.
Both musicians used a single Hughes & Kettner era2 to fill the room with this breathtaking sound, and the result speaks and sounds for itself. The amplifier supports the natural sound behavior of the instruments.
To give you an impression of the spatial sound in that room you hear a mix of a stereo room mic setup (80%) and - the era (post-preamp) line-out signal (20%). Any room (reverb) effects you hear is comming from the natural room in place.
The amplifiers from the Hughes & Kettner era series support a wide variety of acoustic instruments. Nylon String Guitars, Steel String Guitars, Stringinstruments, Windinstruments and others. All the nuances of the high-quality instruments are transmitted with a high degree of clarity.

Hi, great amp. I have two questions. Does a DI sends effects to FOH? And what about era as a frfr speaker for monitoring modellers?

Very good question and a great chance for us to explain it here. The effect is deliberately not output on the XLR output. The idea behind this is that the FOH sound can be better adapted to the room, but the player can adjust the effects for its stage sound as it wants. Since the amplifier is a full-range system, it can of course convey the sound of modelers well. Of course, the behavior is very much adapted to acoustic instruments, but in principle it works. Hope that answers your questions. Greeting from the Team of Hughes & Kettner

Thank You for your answer. It is a very clever solution. I would prefer to have efects at the di since I use them often and change during the concert but I understand your logic. Dedicated footswitch would be big help. The one that could change more fx, boost the signal... But all in all Great amp.
