Slim is just different…Nothing like him even when he came on the scene ages ago. Hoan is a true popper. He kills the beats and adds great animation to get the crowd in awe.
As much as I root for Hoan, Slim Boogie has been beating him consistently. Slim Boog is just the better popper and dancer between the two. Every time Hoan improves, Slim Boog brings another flavor or moves that is not seen before 😂 😂 😂 Slim Boog killed the 2nd set.
Also, Hoan ruled with beatkilling, no matter how awkward it was, but the game has caught up. He needs to keep up the beatkilling but level up his artistry, his aesthetics. And ditch the awkward yet competent beatkilling.
@@shaunboyd4487 There's an aesthetic out in Asia particularly, also Europe, where they equate maximum funkiness with doing awkward pose-y stretchy boogaloo movements (Popin Pete and Skeeter Rabbit, Boogaloo Sam, definitely Suga Pop) with a bit of femininity/flamboyance (yes, that kind) in it. This is an EB thing that is going to get phased out as the rest of the world finally catches up to the fact that most of the EBs were not very good compared to the greats in the Bay area and LA. Bopping (Robot Prince, Boppin Andre, Earthquake, Boppin Ron) has a very different approach to the dance that IMO is going to fight back the tidal wave of EB misinformation. You see Greenteck do the EB thing too, when he wants to get fonky, he will do that same type of movement where you throw your arms up and let your chest come out and in and your butt stick out a bit--it's also often puppet-y. Said in another way: most poppers would benefit from studying the classic hip hop party dances, because so many poppers just can't dance. Hip hop would give the foundation of moving in a relaxed, but also athletic and funky way. I highly doubt after studying hip hop that poppers would move in such flamboyant/naive ways. But they've been brainwashed that that is the highest level of funk.
@@dannydevs To be fair though, this is a really old video and hoan has incorporated a lot more groove in his most recent feel the funk battle. I do agree with you about the eb thing to a certain extent though
I’ve watched slim for years. I LOVE his style. I’m a big fan. I don’t think we won. Why? It was like half way thorough the rounds he gave up mentally. There styles are completely different (both dope) but objectively hoan showed more variety in poppin and layers to each round. He also mentally defeated slim. I’ve seen slim give much more to a battle. In a way I don’t think he approaches a Battle and as battle maybe more of him just Vibing and dancing. Maybe that’s the difference I saw between the two in mentality.
@@soulstart89 appreciate your take on this but I believe Slim took this not by a lot but edged it. But the edge is too sharp & clean xD in the words of Bboy Casper *If you ain't fresh why the fuck you doing it* there's essence, creativity & soul in Slim Boogie's movement. And well art is subjective. Hoan did his thing but for me Slim took this.
Slim is very very very dope, however , he is not a showman and small animated moves just don't win champions... On the other hand.. Hoan is a master - and knows how to use the stage and the space. soooooooooooooooo Hoan wins every single time.. Slim needs to change his presentation, if not it all looks the same. Small Boogie.. Animation and a Groove.. then it gets boring.. IN MY OPINION HOAN WINS

So good to see them enjoying seeing each other’s rounds 😍
congrats slim, your my favorite popper, your still showing your best, this def 1 of your best perform ✨
It was close but yeah I think Slim Boogie got it, I found he explored more the music and showed more versatility and different feelings
Slim Boogies style is mesmerizing , nice to watch from both
Congrats to Slim Boogie ✨🙌🏽☮️
2 Track Plis!? 4:40
Really nice battle 🔥
Slims word play and transitions are ideal
second song PLEEEASEEEE! WHERE can i find it?
好怀念以前的时候,各路高手都可以来中国交流,现在已经今非昔比,苛刻的疫情防控,还有禁韩令,都这是我们这些爱好街舞的人最大的损失
@ 6:26 you can see Hoan is trying Slims style to show he can do that musicality too
he cant do what slim does LMAO. looks dumb when anyone even TRIES to mimic slim
@@maverickgarcia6846 exactly😂 , slim's built different 💯
First song?
Good
Hey buddies! who can tell me what is the first song?

Good battle. Could have gone either way.
Hoan is very nice :)
Hi. when was this competition?
2016
Slim Boogie
Hoan🤣😂🤣
Battle could’ve went either way
Amazing battle. For me hoan won all rounds.

Awkward? What are you talking about?

I guess people don't read the descriptions anymore. This an old battle, dude has leveled up quite considerably since this battle.
❤❤❤❤
Hoan sz sz sz
2016 hoan hahahah
Hoan needs to change up his outfit. Coder cap, t-shirt, pleated dress pants, and nondescript sneakers just doesn't do it.
Again, what are you talking about? You sound like a whiny self entitled spoiled middle aged white woman.
Been saying this for a while! At the recent Feel the Funk, he actually looked dapper I cant lie! Like dressed like a G for once lmao
And “coder cap” 😭😭so accurate
This battle was like 6 years ago lol
Or maybe let him dress however he wants
I think winner is hoan ,not the slim boogie.
The Slim Boogie! Well you're right about that
Slim won this
Can't logic here bro, people overlook creativity, soul, flow & freestyle mindset

the music sucks for such a battle.. come on now
