The word “trinity” is not found in the Bible or the Book of Mormon. Simply because it’s not true doctrine.

LOL 😂 the Trinity comes from the Two Powers in Heaven Israelite theology that is in the Bible!
So, you R completely wrong and ignorant of that Theology that Jesus taught including Paul.

True..."homoousios" is not biblical. The concept simply isn't there. It developed over time, centuries after Christ, by councils of men with zero authority, who essentially debated Greek philosophy then put it to a vote. That's not at all how the *actual* apostles came to truth/made decisions - such as the Jerusalem council we read of in the holy Bible.

I also heard David O McKay did away with the cross because it was too Catholic. Maybe that was because he was raised in Huntsville Utah where there was a big Catholic monastery.

I read a book about the relief society when I was called to be a relief society president that told how at one time the first general relief society President was equal to the prophet and it was a lifetime calling. The relief society ended up with lots of money by selling wheat they had stored to the government after WW1. They had their own account. You actually had to pay dues to belong to the relief society. The prophet at that time put the relief society under the priesthood and released the President and took all their money to put in the general church account. I think this book was written to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the relief society. My daughter in law let me borrow it and it was 20 years ago so I don't remember it all. But I do remember that the women pretty much ran the church back then. They fought for the vote and got it. They went to the world fairs. They basically started the hospitals and ZCMI.

“God” and “Son of God” is the same thing in the BofM context. They can be used interchangeably unless one is trying to clarify specifically God coming to earth in the flesh. Mosiah 15 lays this out so crystal clear. I’m not sure why Gerardo and so many others find it so confusing. I suppose that’s because the LDS church teaches such a different nature of God. I’ve noticed other restoration churches don’t wrestle with this topic at all. It only seems to be members and ex members of the LDS church.

Not true . Book of Mormon does not teach Trinity . God is spirit . Yes . You are a spirit . Everyone is a spirit with a body . When you die your spirit comes out of your body . Your spirit never ever dies . Everyone is a spirit . To be whole our spirits need a body . Then an eternal resurrected body . The Book of Mormon does definitely make reference that if needed and commanded of God it can be used . The Book of Mormon has all things leading to salvation . The fullness is found in the doctrine and covenants . By asking questions . The same way Joseph Smith asked which church to join .

There are books written about Jesus going to India teaching before He started His ministry in Jerusalem. To me that makes more sense than Him just sitting around Nasereth being a carpenter.

There is nothing about him in the New Testament from the time He was 12 teaching in the temple to when He started His ministry around 30. The book is about a man that was shown manuscripts about Jesus when he visited India. You can Google it and read about it for yourself. True or made up who knows.

@pollydunn3191 Yes, there is it says in the last verse of Luke Chapter 2 what he did "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man." Besides that, India is a gentile nation, he made it clear to a gentile woman that he was not sent but to the lost tribes of the house of Israel. He had very limited interaction with Gentiles. Instead, he sent his apostles to them.

Maybe have another read of the Book of Mormon. Everything you say isn't in the BoM is in there.
20:16 "No three degrees of glory..." Mormon 9
20:23 "There's no Melchizedek Priesthood..." Yeah just read all of Alma 13...
20:36 "There's no temple work at all...." This is probably the most supportable thing that is in the Book of Mormon. 1 Nephi 1:1 Literally says "I, Nephi...having had a great knowledge of...the mysteries of God..." Some argue that this is Nephi indicating that he has been through the temple and knows what's in there. The next parts of 1 Nephi use metaphors to hide some of the things that were lost from the early Jewish temple. There are of course the arguments that the Sermon on the Mount is a Temple Ordinance. We have the Brother of Jared and some temple themes. We have many references to garments and the redemption.
When mentioning baptism it's about the body being clean "that ye may stand spotless..." (3 Nephi 27:20) but all other references to a higher priesthood refer to the garment being clean "Therefor they were called after this holy order... and their garments were washed white through the blood of the Lamb." (Alma 13:11) I.E. the garment being something that you get from something past baptism.
20:50 "Tithing..." No character from the BoM pays tithing, but it calls back to Abraham and Melchizedek saying "Abraham paid tithes; yea, even our father Abraham paid tithes of one tenth part of all he possessed." (Alma 13:15)

Whatever happened to the teaching that the prophets are subject to the prophets?- meaning, the teachings of modern or current prophets, should always be checked in the correctness or falseness of their teachings, by what the prophets before them have taught. By that standard, today's modern mormon prophets have gone rogue!- declaring they trump anything taught in the past, if it doesn’t line up with what they want to say is from god nowadays!--- where are the checks and balances anymore?
