As it happend: My partner made arrangements to stay in Tenby for our visit to Carew Castle Sept. 2013 where a foster Great Grandfather, Sir John Perrott 1528 held residence in 1586-1592 when he died in the Tower. I was thrilled to find the town of Tenby so close to the castle and had no idea about it's significance during the 1640 war for independence and the Crown. Oliver Cromwell was a cousin to my 7th ggrandfather, Thomas ap Rice 1570 of Tenby. I hope to return to Tenby next year when they re-inture my 3rd Ggrandmother's First Cousin X times removed, King Richard III of York. The discovery over the past two years has been astonishing, and I will return to Tenby on my tour next year. Dale C. Rice 1948 of the Nebraska Sutton-Rice family.
My grandmother always loved Tenby and Llandudno Tenby, reminds me of Aberdyfi in mid Wales, a very beautiful beach with a close knit, yet exceptionally friendly laid back community of fisherman, I know Aberdyfi (Aberdovey exceptionally well, I have known it for over twenty five years) I can honestly say you will never find any people as friendly as the locals of Aberdyfi. I have always loved Llandudno in North Wales, more or less grew up there on the West shore from when I was born 2wks old in the Summer of 75 to today. Portmeirion and Barafundle Bay are also beautiful In my opinion Wales is definitely one of the most beautiful countries in the world, i would say that it is most the beautiful, however, Wales isn't on the ocean, North Wales is on the arm of the Atlantic, the irish sea which is gorgeous but isn't as vast as the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian etc Shame that if that if they had been the scenario would have been very different as all three celtic countries Wales, Ireland and Scotland would have been the most beautiful in the world.
Rab carn Hi Rab! There are no fun fairs that I know of in Tenby or Saundersfoot. but there is an amusement arcade in Saundersfoot with rides. There is also a large theme park 'Oakwood', and Folly Farm in the vicinity that have proper rides. Check out on Google.

Wouldn't argue with you there Suzanne. Pembrokeshire would give Cornwall a run for it's money.
Most enjoyable! We were there for new year 2014. It is good to see the place in action in Summertime!
