Small Correction: With regards to my comments on time signatures, it turns out most of Frums' songs are in 4/4 time, as pointed out by Finnthomp! Apologies for any misinformation
if you really liked the vocals in credits ex, i’d suggest listening to memoryfactory.lzh, vigor lines yoked (vocals start at 2:42), and/or the divine comedy if you haven’t already
That was a absolute sick video, funny enough, i actually never knew the artist but knew their music. The moment i saw theresomanycolors made me popped off, such a informational video. Please do keep up the work ❤️
The first time I see someone make a full history of frums, I appreciate the hard work you poured into this video. Also it would be interesting to see Silentroom next with their collaboration Aegleseeker
Ayoooo bruh i'm gonna fugly cry thanks so much for the shout out. amazing vid as always, this one had even more bof details that I enjoyed too. It's funny how similar Frum's intro to rhythm games and music production was to me. I also got into ffr/stepmania and chiptune tracking, although I was inspired by software cracks and learned schism tracker over famitracker. But Frums and I both use reniose as a daw because of that, not that I compose/produce much these days. While I didn't stick with it like frums did, it's still really cool to see how much we have in common. I have a reggae cover to upload but after that full steam ahead on rhythm game stuff~ Nothing crazy but I should at least upload some cytus 2 gameplay and cover something from the ost on bass too
Ay dont even mention it man, just helping a brother out :) thats pretty much identical actually, and honestly I've heard so many stories about how time consuming it is so I dont blame you haha. I look forward to seeing your new vids man, keep it up!
ah yes Frums and their cryptic and clever songs, they're really something special :DDDD I totally didn't expect you to do them this soon but this is awesome!!!
Having only known Frums from Arcaea, I always wondered how Frums was familiar with Nitro and lo and behold it’s because they’ve collaborated in the past lol. Definitely learned some interesting things. Keep it up!
this shit is nuts. as a musician and content creator, some of this work is straight up inspirational. the songs are insane on their own but paired with the visuals is just.... something else.
Frums has become my favorite artist in the last year and they've got me into the world of rhythm game music. I used to play osu a ton, but I just liked the gameplay, the anime songs never interested me. It wasn't until I played $24eeevo that I was completely wowed. This was music? I needed more of it.
I feel like an interesting idea on an artist to focus on would be nitro, seeing that they are not only a fairly popular artist, but also a very common charter in a popular rhythm game
thank you for this. this video was really informative and inspired me to push my style similar to the abstract style of frums. fun fact my artist name (flurrydotxyz) is actually a frums reference
I love frums music and this is an awsome video. I also love how there is story by every song and that i think is very cool. also we want to run is my fav song
Great video, it was cool seeing the history of one of my favourite artists! I do have some clarifications and corrections to do with dropdead specifically (the way you wrote that section does imply you don't know much about Arcaea and a lot of this info is hard to find unless you were there when dropdead, um, dropped, so it's cool). - dropdead is actually, according to the BPM measure in-game, which we can assume was provided by Frums themselves, dropdead doesn't actually change BPM at any point, and is instead a consistent 50 BPM (though you can argue it's "real" BPM is much faster (switching between 50 and 250 BPM), as you pointed out for Turnstile Jumper and Eternal Liberty in the LeaF video). - dropdead may have been produced partially as a joke. Memoryfactory.lzh was in Arcaea from the beginning (though whether it's an original track or licensed I'm not sure) and many players found it to be unexpectedly challenging due to the slow scroll speed of the chart (as a result of the song being 100 BPM). Frums may have made dropdead to meme on that by making a song half the BPM of what was (at the time) the slowest song in the game, while also making it a hellish challenge. - While it is true that dropdead is notorious for its speed changes, that only really applies to the Future difficulty. The Past and Present difficulties don't actually feature any timing changes. That being said, the Present chart also is notorious for having one of the most hellish sections in a chart where unless you are clever with your finger placement, you have to play a prolonged section with your hands crossed over each other. Also here's some fun trivia. Some songs in Arcaea, including dropdead, can be purchased individually instead of as a pack. Occasionally these songs will go on sale and when dropdead was discounted in one of these sales, Frums tweeted something to the effect of "dropdead is on sale. Please buy anything else."
their music being based around a form of genre roulette makes a lot of sense... and honestly im tempted to try it myself with my own music style edit; atleast some of their music
This video is masterfully done in terms of research and commentary. Frums has been and will continue to be one of my biggest inspirations in rhythm game music production, and this video only strengthened that. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more from you like this. Maybe cover Silentroom or Nitro next!
I think I’ve been listening to Frums without even knowing it. I remember playing a level in geometry dash that uses theyaremanycolors and I didn’t even look up the artist I just replaced the song with it and never got past like 10% lol. In fact the only reason I’m watching this is because I saw the showcase for a level that uses pictured as perfect. Will definitely be listening to Frums from now one because I love electronic/dnb music
I heard in the song of ambrosia frums added a beat that was morse code that said ambrosia, i didn't find that someone else did but i thought it was very attention to detail
Now you have my sub. These kind of video from yours are impressive in terms of details and how flow you talk in the videos. I'm looking forward for more of your videos, keep it up!
amazing insight on this amazing artist who like camellia can't simply be described to thanks for the insight to meaning of their songs with things hidden in them *thanks to those that found said things*
I got that big surge of happiness when clicking because I just listened to one of their many songs for what feels like the 100th time even tho It wasn't that much. I can say I am a big fan so thanks for this :) 👍
I've been wanting a BMS history channel to watch for some time now. This is definitely scratching that itch. I sorta wish yr b roll footage was more BMS focused instead of adofai but that's a small nitpick. Thanks for the information!

did frums did all of his music just using famitracker
Do meganeko next
@@13Df_Kamikaze they use renoise
And then, silentroom and frums collaborated. The result was aegleseeker.
and in that light i find the best song from either artist

only if gote ex and frums's other songs were more public, i feel like frums wouldve popped off faster than 2015
They absolutely would've, I wonder if we'd still get things like Credits if they blew up earlier though 🤔

Funny that I watched Wavetapper directly before this.
