The bulb has to be connected to your home Wi-Fi but you can control it from the LIFX app anywhere with Internet, even if it's not your home Wi-Fi. See more info here: bit.ly/2Y1DxVI
For a basic room, I stream fortnite, I have a big tv that usually let's off alot of light, do you think these colors are strong enough to still be seen, I had gotten other colored bulbs and with my tv on they aren't strong enough, I feel like I would need 2 lifx bulbs
So it's hard for me to say exactly but I can tell you that this bulb is a 75 watt equivalent as is the A19 with infrared night vision, so you can compare that to the bulbs you had before. Here are my written reviews of each: LIFX: bit.ly/2Y1DxVI LIFX with infrared: bit.ly/2N2ner9
Geovane Morgan and 1 lifx is the cost of a hue bulb and the hub so lifx is better I have 2 smart bulbs for 20$ and 20 dollar strip under my bed so my room didn’t have to be the best but I got good deals for my lights
Iw think the LIFX+ bulbs would be a better video for a "home security" channel. If you dont know what the + is for, it means the bulb has IR emitters built in for better lighting on security cameras
It’s been almost 2 years with these Lifx lights. But in the last 10 months haven’t been able to use them properly. They disconnect every time you try to get into the app and now they don’t even turn on. Their customer service is non-existent. I gave up and have them in the box because I cannot do anything with them. Still waiting for this company release an update to fix all these problems. In conclusion, they’re too overpriced for the service you get, which is non-existent and connectivity problems. Go into their website or App Store/ Playstore to see for yourself.
Got it! I did notice their rating was only at 2.5 from the Apple store, so that's a huge drawback. To learn more, read our full written review here: bit.ly/2Y1DxVI
Hey man, you canot say "hey google" in the video without muting "google" part! My google activated every time and gave different comands to my smart home devices. It is crazy 😤
What a dishonest review of their product. Obviously, I shouldn't have expected anything better from someone with a conflict of interest from getting these products for free. In case people get here and would like to get a more honest review: I've been owning a LIFX A19 for 5 years. First of all, the design of the light bulb is simply fantastic and with 1100 lumen, we can say that it's pretty bright. A few years back, LIFX was going bankrupt and got bought by some other company. Since then, app updates just got worse to the point that it got impossible for many users to use their lights, including myself. That is because managing your light is possible only through the LIFX app, so if it does not work, you end up with an expensive bright light bulb in your hands. The reviews on the Google store were 3.3/5 on the play store at the time of this video. Just have a look at he latest comments (filtered by date, not by relevance): pretty much everyone is giving 1 star and discourages any potential buyer from repeating their mistakes. You can read some horror stories of people owning 2k of LIFX light bulbs now made completely useless. So everybody now recommends more reliable brands like Philips Hue. The app is also extremely bloated with useless features you won't ever use, and the simplest things can sometimes be really hard to do. Again, it wasn't always like this: this app used to be a wonder and was once working like a charm. Now, it is buggy as. Finally, you absolutely need to connect it to the cloud. No matter if you just want to use it locally from your home, your light will always be connected to the internet.
I love my Lifx bulbs, especially with IFTTT integration.
Glad to hear you like them! Did you see our written review of the LIFX bulbs? bit.ly/2Y1DxVI

Do you know if you need to be connected to your wifi to control the bulb, or can it be done while you're away from home?

Do these work for outside lighting? Such as porch lights?
Unfortunately this bulb is intended for indoor use. Here's a good one for your porch from Hue: bit.ly/2oQjNIM

Got it...have you watched my Philips Hue reviews? Here's one: bit.ly/2HMlqg4

Just got one. I've used a normal LIFX for years though.
How are you liking to new purchase?
