Black Panther is one of my favorite figure this year due to its simplicity. An unmasked T'Chala head would have been a nice feature and the hard plastic cape is useless but, it's still fun to have. Howard the Duck should be on this list.
I agree with everything except the Black Panther. I’m a little biased because it’s my favorite look for the character, but it came out just about as I thought it would. He’s so much fun to pose and in certain poses he looks bad ass. He could definitely be better than what he is, which is why I’d give him a 7/10 but I definitely wouldn’t say he’s worse than AOA Rogue.
Yeah, that Black Panther does look pretty cool. It is mostly black plastic, but the cape breaks things up enough for me not to notice. That and I just like black.
I like that Black Panther as well...he's a cross between 2005 John Romita Jr. Black Panther and 1960s first appearance. He just needs some paint on his gloves and boots. I already have a soft goods cape for him on order.
May not be worth doing every year, but I’d love an occasional ‘top weirdest / most interesting’, where you can showcase figures that may be memorable for not just being good or bad; but may just have a really unusual visual design or piece of engineering
Hahaha! I was on the verge of getting him in store, but then I saw him in person and changed my mind. Thankfully, it was not in windowless packaging yet! ;-)
Bizarre that Hasbro sees Transformers as a kids toy brand while delivering better and better production quality on niche characters from the 80s consistently to fill in collection gaps for older consumers for years straight yet sees Marvel Legends as an adult-oriented brand and delivering all of... this. And for the same price point too. Beyond insulting.
I love the Black Panther figure, but the simplicity and the argument about lack of paint for a collectible is 100% accurate. Plus, I had to mod the shoulders for range, which isn't what we're paying this kind of price for. But I am surprised Sentry isn't on this list. I loved the look of the renders, but in hand I absolutely hate the body and shoulders they chose. He's going directly into my custom figure to do list.
@@AnthonysCustoms You aren't missing much. They dropped the ball again, even though they had the Vulcan body, they butchered together Grim Reaper parts onto a slightly larger torso.
The price creep is the only thing "collectible quality" about most MLs. I really am fine with them looking like fairly-basic toys as long as they're fun to pose. Occasionally there's a gorgeous figure but for the most part they all look like kids toys. In any case, fun lists and always enjoyable to watch.

With effort ML put towards the products on your list, it surprises me none that Hasbro has lost money this year. Looking forward to more videos from you in 2023 AC - All the best.
It pisses me off as a transformers collector because all my stores have wave 1 of legacy stuff, and we have left legacy for the new wave, but my stores still have legacy wave 1.
I agree with everything except Black Panther, the figure is very basic, but for me, worked a lot for the character, it was one of my favorites of the year
Yeah, that right there is the reason why Hasbro keeps giving us lazy releases, lol. Like, sure, the figure looks cool and all but it could have been better. They could have added extra stuff just because it's a very simple design and all they needed to make it was a bunch of black plastic.
Between the Vulcan body, new Zemo, and Sentry, we *have* to have the right parts to make a proper Jim Lee or MvC style linebacker Magneto. How they've yet to give him that bulk is beyond me. I can't understand their insistence to only use a single body for a character ignoring how their depiction changes with different designs. #2 surprised me. I really like that figure. But you've got valid point.
That Hatut Zeraze also oh so well showcases both the problem with Hasbro's new windowless plastic and the risk that it poses. Look at the box pic. Note how it unquestionably appears to have some shading applied. Around the neck and down the sternum. That box picture unquestionably has some paint applied (even if just digitally). It does not match the product found inside. That's horrifying for a $30 collectable action figure.
I REALLY don't like that all cardboard box that Black Panther and a couple other figures come in. How am I supposed to see if the figure has a decent paintjob?
I usually do with these what i always do with mcfarlane figures.... paint.... PAINT!! with most mcfarlane figures you can damn near get away with just dry brushing a light color on them though >.>
Aside from your thoughts, I've been avoiding ML this year due to the heafty price they've been getting as of late. I'm only going to be gathering from characters that I like.
People seem to like the Black Panther figure, but I have heard criticisms of the quality of it. I think that the Hatut Zarati(hope I spelled that right) should’ve been offered on pulse for less, since it is an army builder style figure.
I don't mind lack of shading in figures, and I love that Black Panther, but you're right that I shouldn't have to figure out where to but a gundam pen or whatever to make the gloves and boots look right.
I dunno I might disagree with a couple choices - Magneto, Rogue, Black Panther... - but I can't disagree with the overviews. It feels like 2021/22 were the years for DIY repaints/touch ups like they used all the extra paint in the (terrible) cell shading? I mean even the GI Joe figures that used to be pretty good were missing paint. That being said the sculpt in most of them is still there so even if one is not skilled with a brush a lot can be done with a Gundam Marker to bring out those details - not that we should, after all we're not buying them as model kits, but it is something easily fixable. What actually pisses me off is the price hike in reused molds. I'm usually not that fussy about re-releases and reused parts but if you're doing an entire set of reused molds (X-men 3 packs 😒) you shouldn't charge more but less..? Also with the 3 packs: wtf?! Not only they should be cheaper for being basically reused mold but also because we're buying bulk and yet they're somehow more expensive than what we would pay for individual figures and worse: no BAF, the BAF (Blob) will be sold separately!! I understand that all the companies still active after the p@ndem!c (edited to avoid bots 🙄) are raising their prices to refill their coffers as if they weren't already rich before the p@ndem!c and Hasbro is doing the same but to raise the prices AND lower the quality is ridiculous... In one hand I really really want those 3 packs but on the other hand I also really want it to fail due to the high prices...
I like you to do a top 10 good and bad McFarlane figures. Or Top 5 good and bad in one video. You reviewed a lot of them. We already know a couple that would makes one of the lists but there's plenty others to look at too.
I agree with everything except for Black Panther. Could it have been more? Sure. But did it need to be? I don't think so. Black Panther's suit has always been simple. It looks exactly like it's supposed to. It especially shouldn't be so high up on the list (there's no way it's worse than AoA Cyclops, for example). I think there are worse figures missing instead: retro Sue Storm; Tigra, Future Foundation Spider-Man, What If T'challa (some people consider it a 2022 release), the amazon exclusive Mojo, Domino from the three-pack, etc. Anyway, the list was still fun. I wish Anthony and everyone on this channel happy holidays 🎄
I agree with your list. I think you could do this list 3 more times with ten different figures each time lol that's how bad Hasbro has been. Though I think black panther could have been an honorable mention instead but believe me, I fully understand why he made it on the list and why he was #2. Hasbro is all about cutting corners in every which way.
Always thought this about marvel legends feeling too much like kids toys compared to other lines that people criticise like marvel select and McFarlane I mean the latter don’t do as much paint but still
I'm sorry there's no way that black Panther is worse than that Hobgoblin. If you were disappointed that it didn't come with more paint or accessories, that is a valid criticism, but that doesn't mean the base figure is bad, let alone the 2nd worst figure of the year. It does its job as a basic black Panther figure. It's a good figure that is overpriced and lacks accessories. I don't need paint for a character that's one color. This was a bad year for marvel legends there are so many other figures that deserve to be placed on here to have this as 2nd worst. Hello the heralds of Galactus 2 pack with Terrax and fallen one? That one was terrible.
Yeah I have to agree with the consensus that BP doesn't belong this low on the list, if at all. The AOA wave was a massive turd that makes BP look premium in comparison. I agree he needed a little more paint but the Vulcan buck works wonders and it's better than many of the old BP figs IMHO. Matter of fact I find it hilarious that most of this list is X-Men, either Bonebreaker or AOA and the VHS sets.
So Darwin doesn't pose well, and yet we've seen you pose him in so many good ways. 😉Talk about turning a lemon into lemonade, and getting your money's worth with a disappointing figure! 👍 For your list, I think your choices are pretty good. I was going to complain and say that AOA Magneto and Rogue shouldn't be there, but then I looked at the other 2022 figure releases and besides Madame Hydra, arguably, I don't see any better replacement. Ok, you were perhaps a bit harsh on Black Panther, the figure does look good despite the total lack of effort on the paint. I suspect that's the one most people will disagree with in the comments. So yeah, I would have replaced Black Panther with Madame Hydra. Thanks for the video and happy new year!
When you posed Darwin attached to penguin. This is not even saving money anymore it’s just pure laziness, the point of a business is to try new parts and make a reasonable price for figures and improve them as you go.
@@GameTime-yj6qv Using a decent buck that already existed prior doesn't really make it a great value prospect considering there's zero paint and few accessories
@@MrMegaman0607 I'm with you on the lack of accessories, and like I said, all marvel legends are overpriced. But let's look at Madame Hydra as an example. She has a little more paint, but her head sculpt isn't good, she's on the outdated skinny female body with single jointed elbows, and has those old flimsy pistols. Same price as Black Panther, yet clearly inferior. That's worse figure material. At worst if you emphasize having paint that much, Black Panther should be average because the buck, headsculpt, and cape are all really good, and it had great articulation.
I personally enjoy the Black Panther figure, but I do agree with pretty much everything you said. They’re like reaching $30 and no real effort is being put on these figures, and some figuarts figures are like $25 at Target and not even some of the bad ones, like ssj blue and sroe Goku. Hasbro needs to really step up their game because I do see myself selling the BP figure if another company reveals a better classic BP figure.
I’m almost certain Mafex will make a classic BP in the future, they already have Ironman, Thor, and cap shown, would make sense for them to continue building a full avengers team and they already made a movie version. Now I did say future and knowing Mafex that will literally be some time till then, but Mafex 9/10 never disappoints and I’m hoping they will make a solid BP, they do have quite a price tag but I honestly think it’s worth it for what you usually get with the figures, they imo are true collectibles
Wasn't the Ursa Major wave released this year? If so, I'd say Hologram Iron Man was the worst of the year. Had a decent paint job, but nothing else was good about it.
Daredevil and Black Panther don't have much paint, but are fun figures to pose and they look really good. There are plenty of worse marvel legends. Madame Hydra is an example and it didn't make this list.
I definitely disagree with Black Panther being on this list. I have him on my Top Ten. You really believe that the Black Panther figure is worse than animated Green Goblin???
@@GameTime-yj6qv I think the fact that it’s a good figure at its core and could’ve been way more is what makes it so insulting to most people including Anthony, ESPECIALLY considering the price hike
@@happymoomoocow I'm with you on the price hike, but all marvel legends are overpriced now, and compared the others at its price range it is not one of the worst. I understand this is all subjective so I don't expect everyone to love it, but it's a whole other thing to place it as one of the worst figures of the year.
Like some others in the comments, I don't agree with Black Panther being on this list. Especially at Number 2. I actually like that figure quite a lot. I don't mind the lack of paint because BP has never been a character with a lot of details and colors. The simplicity is what I like about it. Just like the recent 3-pack DD.
Number 1 for me is the future foundation Spider-Man figure. On an old body and really gummy arms and legs. Mine came out already warped. Bad paint application.
Hobgoblin is my number 1 worst ML it doenst look like the comic or show. It pleases no one and looks like a turd that can't even stand on his tiny glider. The last hobgobin was miles better.
idk when the retro card white vision and falcon came out but if it was 2022 I would put them on here. They have some of the worst QC and paint i've ever seen on a figure.
I liked your video but how does black panther get to be there. Why not Madam Hydra? She has the suckiest body sculpt and one of the worst head sculpts hasbro has done.
1. i havent reviewed her yet. 2. black panther has no paint aside from his eyes. hes solid black plastic with grey plastic for the gloves. they didnt even paint the lines on the gloves.
@@AnthonysCustoms got you. But I hope whenever you can, try to review the madam hydra I hope that maybe changes your mind. I appreciate your video though. I just watched the top 10 best legends and it was dope.
Nah you’re just wrong about #3. I love that version of her and I lost my mind when I saw that on the peg. And that black panther is how the old school version looked in the comic. That’s why it looks like a toy. That’s what it is. Not a bp fan anyway, just saying
Anthony places too much emphasis on the paint. I don't like cel shading, but most of those 90s xmen look great. Same with Black Panther, a top Ten figures for most collectors myself included.
I am tired of how little effort Hasbro puts into the line in average and rarely get any figures at full price and even then feel sort of guilty for supporting their laziness. The Fortnite and Gi Joe lines are so much better not sure if it's a matter of budget or just the people involved caring.
I agree Black Panther would benefit from some painted highlights. The body looks good, but should've had a ball joint at the waist and a torso crunch or vice versa to give him more flexibility. Maybe even a ball jointed waist and diaphragm joint. I'd like a decent Magneto on the Vulcan buck. Can't wait for an updated Darwin.😁😂🤣
I agree, that Black panther could been good if they just put some effort in it. I almost got it but your review made me realize it just was not worth full price.
I find it hard to believe that Darwin doesn’t pose well after all the things I’ve seen him do! I guess that’s a testament to your skills 👏👍💯😘😘❤️❤️❤️ wonderful top 10 Anthony❣️
I don't disagree with any of your picks, but I would contend that Madame Hydra, Speedball, USAgent, Howard the Duck, Hot Claws Wolverine, Future Foundation stealth Spider-Man, Astral Dr. Strange, Herald Fallen, Love & Thunder Starlord, and Amazing Friends Iceman... ...yeah, so many sucky Marvel Legends this year, this list should be top 20. :(
Honestly I'm with you on almost all entries (entire second AoA wave was a disaster) but I think Black Panther at number 2 was a bit harsh. Paint would've improved it for sure and Hasbro is definetly going for that profit, but they get a pass for me because BP is supposed to be like this.
I’m actually gonna give Darwin a pass. His powers allow him to be awkward so his figure can represent that. But the rest oof… lot of legends are lacking.
ML HASLAB Robbie Reyes should get a dishonorable mention , I understand it's a dead horse but HASBEEN will do something stupid again , I'm counting on it so they need a reminder.
There are a lot of bad Marvel Legends, including, but not limited to Every Toybiz female figure (looking at you Rogue, Elektra, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Psylocke, Lady Deathstrike, Black Cat and X-23), Toybiz Spider-Man Classics Hydro-Man, Toybiz Spider-Man Classics Electro, Early Hasbro Emma Frost, First Appearance Bucky, Ultimate Wolverine, 2012 Miles Morales, 2019 Avengers 1 Captain America, AOA Cyclops, Spider-Man 3 Mary Jane, Spider-Man 3 Sandman (the 6 inch one, not the BAF), Fin Fang Foom BAF She-Hulk, 2014 Gamora MCU and What If Howard
I hope you keep the Darwin joke pictures going forever. At this rate, by like 2024, hasbro is just going to try and sell us a blank generic single color chunk of plastic for like 32.99 and call it a new marvel legend. Wow! Very cool!
That A.o.A. Magneto was so bad it made me stop collecting the line altogether. I might get the Spiral figure soon..but after that I'll have some form of my fav X-Men/Marvel characters. Best way is to vote with your wallet. Unfortunately fanboys will continue to praise Hasbro no matter what.

I disagree with most of these, but I get it. Got a few on here that I REALLY enjoy (AOA)... but keep up the solid work! Love the channel!
I think the daredevil fro the three pack should have been on the list because it had no detail or paint like the black panther
It's solid black plastic and they couldn't even paint the stripes
Yeah, it might be all black, but that's Black Panther lol. It's fun to pose, my favorite comics Black Panther Hasbro has made. Is my Top ten as well
@@GameTime-yj6qv I think the fact that it’s a good figure at its core and could’ve been way more is what makes it so insulting to most people including Anthony, ESPECIALLY considering the price hike
@@happymoomoocow I'm with you on the price hike, but all marvel legends are overpriced now, and compared the others at its price range it is not one of the worst. I understand this is all subjective so I don't expect everyone to love it, but it's a whole other thing to place it as one of the worst figures of the year.
Yes.....trash
Like some others in the comments, I don't agree with Black Panther being on this list. Especially at Number 2. I actually like that figure quite a lot. I don't mind the lack of paint because BP has never been a character with a lot of details and colors. The simplicity is what I like about it. Just like the recent 3-pack DD.
I just got cyclops, I’m really bummed the rest of the figs in that line aren’t up to snuff 😢
New Mutants #91 Sabretooth. Pretty much nailed the Rob Liefeld iteration of the character with that release
Number 1 for me is the future foundation Spider-Man figure. On an old body and really gummy arms and legs. Mine came out already warped. Bad paint application.
I love the VHS X-Men figures. These figures are inexpensive and therefore you are far too critical of them.
Troll account, right?
Hobgoblin is my number 1 worst ML it doenst look like the comic or show. It pleases no one and looks like a turd that can't even stand on his tiny glider. The last hobgobin was miles better.
idk when the retro card white vision and falcon came out but if it was 2022 I would put them on here. They have some of the worst QC and paint i've ever seen on a figure.
Hasbro got me for Hobgoblin, Siryn, Black Panther, and Hatut. So they got me for 4.
I still haven't got over that sh*tty Banshee that Hasbro did in their first wave of ML after they took over production from Toybiz.
Best shf? In general not only this year if you want
You didn't address the problems with those requests though... Just that you liked them. Liking something doesn't make it objectively good.
All those AOA figures peg warmed at my local stores.
You missed me with the 90's X-Men figures and Black Panther.
Anthony places too much emphasis on the paint. I don't like cel shading, but most of those 90s xmen look great. Same with Black Panther, a top Ten figures for most collectors myself included.
@@GameTime-yj6qv indeed
I gotta call bull on BP
Bro killed off the X-men wave
I'm surprised that the future foundation Spider-Man (stealth suit) wasn't on the list considering how much flack that figure gets
I think Hasbro is heading in to decline starting with this line. Watch.....
I disagree with black panther and aoa xmen were all 2021. I'm shocked this man were on here.
I agree, that Black panther could been good if they just put some effort in it. I almost got it but your review made me realize it just was not worth full price.
If you’re still interested, the price went down to $17.49 on Target and Amazon.
I find it hard to believe that Darwin doesn’t pose well after all the things I’ve seen him do! I guess that’s a testament to your skills 👏👍💯😘😘❤️❤️❤️ wonderful top 10 Anthony❣️
what about a tip 10 of best/worst BAF?
that dreaded x-men vhs released
I don't disagree with any of your picks, but I would contend that Madame Hydra, Speedball, USAgent, Howard the Duck, Hot Claws Wolverine, Future Foundation stealth Spider-Man, Astral Dr. Strange, Herald Fallen, Love & Thunder Starlord, and Amazing Friends Iceman...
...yeah, so many sucky Marvel Legends this year, this list should be top 20. :(
Before I watch this, pls dear God tell me Darwin isn’t on the list 😢
Honestly I'm with you on almost all entries (entire second AoA wave was a disaster) but I think Black Panther at number 2 was a bit harsh. Paint would've improved it for sure and Hasbro is definetly going for that profit, but they get a pass for me because BP is supposed to be like this.
I don't think hobgoblin is good in anyway but I feel the same for shocker laziest paint jobs ever so doesn't matter if he's sculpt is good
Happy to say I only own one of these figures. Black Panther.
bro hatut zeraze is an amazing figure
7:48 lol
Subscribed for the photos!...Too Much!
I’m actually gonna give Darwin a pass. His powers allow him to be awkward so his figure can represent that. But the rest oof… lot of legends are lacking.
came here for the laughs and didn't disappoint..lol... glad got that entire AOA on discount..at 50% off, wasn't bothered by the list.
Darwin is so good he made both lists lol
I like the AOA wave.
Darwin is the best in all of our hearts.
I have magneto and I think its pretty good
ML HASLAB Robbie Reyes should get a dishonorable mention , I understand it's a dead horse but HASBEEN will do something stupid again , I'm counting on it so they need a reminder.
I thought the D'Spayre figure looked kinda cool.
What do you think are the worst top 10 Marvel Legends action figures of all time ?
The old Hasbro ultimate Iron Man and War Machone for sure
@@Trifixion22 and the Toybiz Black widow as well, you know, the one with the face only a mother could love, lol.
@@rishav-2749 Oh, and the Toybiz Scarlet Witch! As much nostalgia as I have for Toybiz, some of their figures were absolutely DREADFUL
There are a lot of bad Marvel Legends, including, but not limited to
Every Toybiz female figure (looking at you Rogue, Elektra, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Psylocke, Lady Deathstrike, Black Cat and X-23), Toybiz Spider-Man Classics Hydro-Man, Toybiz Spider-Man Classics Electro, Early Hasbro Emma Frost, First Appearance Bucky, Ultimate Wolverine, 2012 Miles Morales, 2019 Avengers 1 Captain America, AOA Cyclops, Spider-Man 3 Mary Jane, Spider-Man 3 Sandman (the 6 inch one, not the BAF), Fin Fang Foom BAF She-Hulk, 2014 Gamora MCU and What If Howard
Killer queen at no. 1? Damn
I hope you keep the Darwin joke pictures going forever.
At this rate, by like 2024, hasbro is just going to try and sell us a blank generic single color chunk of plastic for like 32.99 and call it a new marvel legend. Wow! Very cool!
Sadly that hasn't happened yet
@@chewymew maybe 2025 haha
That A.o.A. Magneto was so bad it made me stop collecting the line altogether. I might get the Spiral figure soon..but after that I'll have some form of my fav X-Men/Marvel characters. Best way is to vote with your wallet. Unfortunately fanboys will continue to praise Hasbro no matter what.
Hey Anthony what happen to the word "turd" a classic word from the channel. Also, it hurts me seeing Darwin on the list despite all his imperfections lol.
Hasbro done Hasbro'd it up again I see.
