    Power, flow, and surf pumping really bring out the style that makes freeskating look so cool. Surfskates, snakeboards and ripstiks just cannot compare to the freedom of freeskates!
    Also, I especially like the drone shots which show how freeskating looks from the top down view!

    Thanks, guys!
    I look forward to every video of yours. In my country there is almost no such sport (I hope that only now) and we have only three people in a city of almost a million who ride freeskates. Me, my son and my friend. There is no one to ask, nowhere to look.
    You are like a breath of clean fresh water in the desert!
    Thank you for your work!
    Good luck!

    As someone just learning to pump, I actually find myself falling into the #1 flow style quite easily when I go downhill, it could just be my previous experience with EUCs and Onewheels and the usage of shoulders in those sports, but I dunno. Great video about stressing learning the fundamentals though!

    It would be interesting to get an in depth physics explanation of carving and pumping, such as static friction, mathematical concept of curvature, velocity and acceleration vectors and so forth.

    • @lordfarquaad6189
      @lordfarquaad6189 9 місяців тому +3

      For example, when we carve we stick one foot out, this increases the radius from our skate to our center, which decreases the curvature of said circle, does this help us slow down and how?

    @red13emerald 9 місяців тому +4

    Ohhh that's exactly what I needed! I just started pumping on my skates today and did the single foot exercises as well, but felt my upper body was moving way too much. Differentiating these different styles and explaining their uses was really helpful, thank you!

    • @jmkride
      @jmkride  9 місяців тому +1

      Woohoo! Glad this was useful for you. The upper body does indeed move, but more as a sway and as a part of the overall flow. Best of luck to you on your journey 🫡

    I realized that surf pumping can also get more power if you squat down while hard carving one direction and standing up as you're hard carving the other direction. Squatting down is also equivalent to going down a wave as you're carving. It's worth to look up tutorials on surfskates because they use that actual motion to generate more power. That said, squatting is more tiring, and unlike surfing, you can add more rotation with the body when using freeskates so it's more forgiving if you don't do the "proper" surf pump.

    Can you guys do a video on how to disassemble freeskate trucks from the decks?

    • @jmkride
      @jmkride  9 місяців тому +4

      We recommend poking holes in the grip tape with the included allen key! This way you can disassemble / reassemble whenever you like without removing the grip. To locate the two bolts, look at your skate from the side and pinpoint each bolt's location with a finger.
      If you'd like to remove the grip tape entirely, you will need some fresh grip. You can remove the grip tape using a heat source (hair dryer works well) and a sharp object (box cutter), under adult supervision 😁

    I’ve recently gotten more comfortable with pumping, and I’m noticing that one leg/foot gets sore faster than the other one. Is this a sign that I’m putting more weight on one foot, or a sign of a non symmetrical pump?

    • @maratmarat9496
      @maratmarat9496 9 місяців тому +4

      My back leg was very tired at first, then I began to shift my weight evenly on both legs and deliberately constantly included my front leg until it got used to working on its own. The back leg stopped getting tired and the wheels on the front and rear skates began to wear out evenly.

    Is pumping/flowing easier with the classic wider/flatter wheels, or the rounded wheels, or no difference?

    • @jmkride
      @jmkride  9 місяців тому +3

      Definitely feels smoother with rounded wheels! The classic once just have a bit more of an edge to them. Still a smooth ride either way 👍

    I loved my freeskates for a couple years, got 4 pairs, but had to stop due to extreme knee pain that affected my life. Stopped freeskating, knee pain slowly went away. If I freeskate again my knee pain returns. Is there something I've been doing wrong all along? Or is knee damage part and parcel of being a freeskater? I hate that I had to give it up :(

    • @jmkride
      @jmkride  9 місяців тому +1

      Actually knee pain should not be a thing. If you'd like to send us a vid via email or IG we can watch your style and see if we can see anything in the motion that could be causing it

    Hey you guys at JMK 👋😎 I just got my skates about 2 weeks ago I've been skating on average about four to five hours per day practicing I've started to notice that the side of my knees hurt especially my left side I ride Goofy so my left foot is in the back I honestly feel like I may have previously injured my ACL and now the skates are making me realize is there anything I can do to avoid this pain or possibly destroying my knee forever? Please let me know I really like the skates and I am really improving I have already learn to pump slight hills 🙏 any feedback is appreciated thank you and look forward to more of your videos they are very informative 💯

    • @jmkride
      @jmkride  9 місяців тому +1

      Riding is actually very low impact to your knees. So it may be your riding style that is affecting you. Your leg muscles are currently strengthening and will build and aleviate a lot of the tension you may be feeling.
