Why are you negotiating in Syria? The people are in extreme poverty, you should be tipping them not negotiating unnecessarily. What is 20,000 Syrian Pounds gonna do for you? It makes a big difference for them.

They were saying 'Ngolo' Kante, not the N-word, jesus lol.
Football is likely the biggest exposure these war-stricken kids have to black people, I don't think they meant any harm by saying black player names to you, it was just their best way to try and connect with you, esp with a language barrier. It's also important to remember to give Syrians a bit more grace than you normally even do, because these people are impoverished and likely broken from the last 13 years of war. I went to Syria in 2009 and it was happier than this. Many of them have probably lost loved ones and experienced terrible things, we gotta be compassionate for that

But always remember These are war, torn countries, and the people have been severely affected. They are stronger than any of the western countries. That’s how they keep a smile on their face in the warm heart. Keep that in mind when negotiating, you know you win, regardless due to currency exchange, so bargaining for a price show them some love
