But how will we know when to switch off the motor, if the overhead cement tank is not fitted with a water level indicator sensor ....with just the ball valve...it will stop the water from overflowing for sure...but how will we know if the tank is full now and that we have to switch off the motor...hope the question is clear bro!

Brother, we have municipality tap deep inside the sump and it is horizontal way, as yours tap is vertical. Pls tell to fix this ball valve for my case

you need to buy one cpvc FTA as show in video & thread side you need to fix Float Valveb & other side you need apply paste & insert to tap

Yes it's little tricky, but I think you can extend the pipeline to top using bend and then install.
Just Suggestion.
It depends on water force too

Simple tie rope to ball for desired water level and also fit nrv valve to the incoming water when water fills to the desired level your float valve will stop the water. And from the water filled level to incoming water level nrv valve will stop the water from returning back
