I'm really curious about this game, do you get thrown into games with strangers or does it require having friends who own the game? Also does it require microphones?
Hiya @@CammieRacing! You can find lobbies with random people or you can create your own lobby with a secret code so only your friends can enter. (with ur mates is DEFINITELY better ;) )
It doesnt require a microphone, and theres no way of talking in game apart from using the text chat in discussions, but I think most people agree talking over discord is best.

I never hit the emergency button BECAUSE people got pissed. Whenever someone would do it, it would cause a complete bitchstorm ... every time. People playing in a group seems to be the best way, but I have no friends, I've had none since before the pandemic, so yeah. imo the only issue that makes this game the most frustrating (from my own experience of which I have a lot - and am still terrible because I can't get any practice in due to people abusing - not hitting, abusing - the e-button. Sorry bout my rant, just my long-winded anecdote on why I don't hit the e-button! LoLoL
My favourite part about playing with randoms is how hilariously bad they are.
I'm starting to consider it, the 'hopeless idiots' (my group) are starting to get smart :/

Being impostor for the first time sucks. You can sometimes get caught super early in the game and it makes you rage.
Tips for impostor beginners:
Be smart, just don't run around killing, and venting every single time. Don't HIDE TO OFTEN, smart people will figure it out easily
Be stealthy, hide just enough for you to kill, but don't stay hidden for too long.
Kill, KILL as much as you can to win fast, but don't kill in front of someone.
Run away from the body, or vent to not look sus.
When your fellow impsotor mate kills, don't report the body, just run. But if he kills infront of everyone, then report it so you won't look sus.
Last but not least. HAVE FUN being an impostor for the first time.

Tip for Skeld: after finishing your tasks, go watch over the everyone with the admin map. If there 2 people in one room and someone disappears, wait for them to reappear in a nearby room, but if they don’t then inspect the room for a corpse, and if there is, ask people who were the last ones that were there. Works sometimes, you also can’t see their color or people in hallways.
Admin is mostly useful for impostors though. Cameras are way more important mean of security as a crewmate, especially if you can tell in which part of the map each person is
Ummm... Nope. Admin is almost useless to crewmates. Cameras are better.
Admin is important because sometimes you see someone teleported to other rooms which that means an impostor was venting

I am struggling with this game myself, to be honest. It seems Iike an easy game at first but when you get in there you'll soon find out you have to deal with so many 200 IQ players and that there are so many different strategies and other complex aspects. It's like I am not stupid it's just that I am a noob basically and I try my best and like it's kinda hard for me to understand because I haven't played a game like this before, but I won't give up however, and try to be the best crewmate\Imposter I can be.

I’m still as confused before and after watching this video.
Edit: Good news I figured out how to play by reading what the actual app told me (it’s explanation is far easier to understand) and then I just messed around with things, somehow was able to join a game and also somehow figured out how to complete tasks. I was also once the imposter, it was super fun killing people.

Among Us originally released in 2018 but has seen a huge surge in popularity over the past couple of weeks. This had led many new players to pick up Innersloth’s little party game and has spurred a ton of new questions about the game, the genre it fits into, and even what exactly the point of Among Us is. Thankfully, we’ve already put in a solid number of hours, which means we can help you understand everything there is to know, including how to play Among Us.
Playing Among Us might seem difficult at first, but the basic premise of the game is extremely simple. Basically, there are two types of players: Crewmate and Impostors. You can have anywhere from 1-3 Impostors in your game, which ups the stakes at play exponentially.
The biggest difference between Among Us and other games in this genre, though, is the fact that you aren’t allowed to talk during the main game phase. After dead bodies are reported, or when an Emergency Meeting is called, you’ll be able to discuss who the Impostor is. Otherwise, though, the game builds up tension and anxiety by forcing players to remain silent as they complete their tasks.

As a Crewmate, try to look out for any weird actions from other players. If anyone seems like they are trying to stick to the shadows or just stay out of sight. You’ll also want to pay careful attention to players as they complete tasks. Some of the tasks actually have animations associated with them, which you can sometimes use to tell if someone is lying about doing the task. When you’ve gathered enough evidence - or have an idea of who the Impostor is, bring it up during the Discussion phase and try to make your case.
Those playing the Impostor will need to pretend to complete various tasks around the map while also taking out the Crewmates. If you’re playing with multiple Impostors, then you can work together to take out the crew much quicker, allowing you to secure your win. Impostors have access to a Sabotage menu that they can use to overheat the reactor, turn off the lights, or even mess with the base’s oxygen levels. Impostors can also use Vents to get around the map much quicker. Keep in mind that any crewmate that sees you will know that you’re the Impostor and can call an Emergency Meeting to vote you out.
Obviously, as an Impostor, try to familiarize yourself with the various tasks so that any alibis you provide seem plausible. You will also want to avoid outright accusing anyone else or pushing too hard on someone’s accusation, as this can often be seen as you trying to get a Crewmate ejected. It’s fine to agree with others, but don’t go so hard on the accusation that you bring attention to yourself instead. Being a great Impostor takes practice and skill, and also the ability to lie really well. For more tips and info on how to play Impostor, please take a look at our handy guide.

That will make you extra sus, most randoms have smart A** people in it, so be smart, and act like there are smart people in randoms, even though there is not.
When I am an impostor, I just go up to the task I have to fake in my fake task bar, and pretend like I am doing it so that when a body is reported or meeting is called I don't have to say I don't know what I was doing or I was just running around.
I vent in places that are uncommon and places where people don't go there often so that I can run up like I just came from somewhere else.
I usually hide in places in where I can hide and when someone comes, I slice them up and jump into a vent and go to cams to say that I was there the whole time and saw nothing bad happen.

I remember one time I won a game as Imposter (with randoms) by starting the O2 sabotage on Skeld and standing by one of the completion points with the other one already completed. A crewmate walked in and walked back out, seeing me standing by the keypad, thinking I was going to fix it.
Obviously, I didn't, and won. Probably my favorite victory, though that may change if I get a regular group.

0:33 that's a good point right there. Most people just leave when they die which isnt a good thing
When you get killed, it makes it easier to do tasks because your a ghost and can go through walls instead of walking to it. You can see what's going on around you, instead of running from people.
If you leave, there is 50% chance that crewmates will win, because if you leave without finishing your tasks then it will stay stuck until you finish it, and the impostor can win by killing, or crewmates can win when voting the impostor off.
if a crew leaves all their tasks are instantly completed, it's a legit strategy to leave if you die lategame and haven't done most of your tasks.

My channel is focused around a game called Dead by Daylight, you might've heard of it. In that game there are 4 survivors that have to outsmart and escape a killer while also doing tasks. Because of this I was interested in Among Us because the concept is very similar, having survivors repair 5 generators and saving each other so they can escape the trial.
If you like Among Us I reccomend that you try Dead by Daylight.

There are a few things I know but I don't think they would be very interesting. They might just be in too much depth.
Task Bar Reading could be adressed though.

Make someone think you are good (for example, lie about having a visible task and then run away) and at the end, use their vote power to eject the last crewmates.
Manipulation is really powerful, give tips to master it ;)

Lying about a visible task is a definite way to get voted out within the next 2 meetings, unless you play in Public
@@glaceyy2057 Use it only when you get accused, you'll save some time, mostly because you'll get accused when there are 4/6 players left depending by 1/2 impostors

Edit: It's SO much easier than it seems. I played a lot yesterday and got imposter pretty early on and won and I think I'm a pretty good imposter now. Lying to people is so fun. This game is awesome. If you don't know how to play then just play it and figure it out.
