I’m a woman who served my country for 20 years. I was one of the first female sailors to serve on a combatant ship. Agreed the Navy doesn’t have a majority of physically demanding “job occupations” however, while I served I happened to be in two male dominated rates, jet mechanic, and 2nd Master at Arms. And obviously I served in a totally different world back then 45 years ago. I fear for our country and if I knew we were fighting to keep our country from communism I’d do it all over again. But when I see our country being taken over from within, from own government. It just breaks my heart. And all our problems can be traced back to greed and money. If some are wondering how? Well we have politicians in congress who have been in office for the majority of my lifetime. We absolutely need term limits. A new education system, a new FDA, a secure border. Our whole infrastructure! But they are good at having distractions and then passing bills or laws that we have to abide by. They aren’t our representatives anymore they are whoever puts the money in their pockets (or their relatives pockets) there is so much nepotism within our government, generational. I pray to God that President Trump gets back in office and at least tries to put the brakes on what is happening.

Another great aunt, who is in photos with Clark Gable, Carol Lombard, and other Hollywood celebrities, was an OSS agent. She was fluent in French, German, and Italian. My Grandson just completed basic training last week. He wanted his education.
He came to see me twice right before he left. I talked to him as much as I could. He said he had thought about it for over a year and had made his decision.
I'm praying all the time, for him, and our country.

My Vietnam Veteran father shared some stories of the war yesterday. He was drafted in 1969. He was visibly shaken and it was hard to talk about. God bless him he bought me 8 more cases of canning jars. I will take care of him no matter what!
My late hubs joined the Navy in '69 just in time for the Tet Offensive. He never said, but think he joined the Navy to keep from being boots on the ground. Salute to both your Dad and my Late Hubs (they did have near miss torpedoes on board his ship).

I am from the Viet Nam era, In school we were scared as shit of being drafted. Seeing our friends' brothers coming home in body bags or being prisoners for years. did the happy dance in 75 when they ended the draft.
Late hubs joined the Navy in 69. Never said why, but likely a calculated decision to keep from being boots on the ground. He was in Vung Tao brown waters tho and in danger of torpedoes, but nobody had it worse than those Army boys. And yes, we would be lying if we said most everybody wasn't watching that lottery closely and scared their number would come up.
Had most of our children over for not only Sunday dinner but happens to be Fathers Day. Had bonfire with s’mores and had a wonderful time. God is Good. Have a blessed night.

Here's my take on things. Illegals will be allowed in to the military with the draft. And they will be kept here to guard us "citizens" while the locals, the good ol' boys, get sent overseas.

I totally understand your heart. When my son went into the army I was terrified for him. The whole four years he was in the army I prayed for his safety. He got out as they were trying to get the soldiers to take the jab. He didn't thank God take it. But he does have other disabilities from Iraq. On the subject of women getting drafted. The military doesn't care if those girls have babies or children. My neighbor had to take care of a baby for a girl that was in the army and got sent overseas. They don't care if you don't have anyone to take care of your children. They call children and family services to take the babies. They tell you that you signed a contract with the government. It sucks.

There was no selective service in the 70's. I grew up in a military family so I became a Marine. Today I would tell youngsters to dodge any draft with no hesitation.

I have lost 34 pounds since January and only have 5.5 more to go before reaching my goal weight. Getting my appendix out in January was my springboard. And all I am doing is eating REAL food, not processed at all and intermittent fasting. It has worked for me.

I am 70. I advised both my stepsons and nephew's parents not to join the military in the 80s because too many young men were dying in foreign wars right then.
Thank goodness they all listened to me and were safe! We again. Must keep our sons and now daughters home so they can protect Our country from our enemies many of which are within our own country Now!!
My son is turning 18 this July. My world views have changed a LOT since I enlisted in the Air Force at age 17. Unless the US is being invaded by foreign troops, I'm not sending my son to fight;. If that happens, we'll be fighting side-by-side.

Ready, Yes I am ready I am a Vietnam Vet and this is kinda the same, America was fighting someone else War...so I have been prepping for the last 3 years I have everything together from food, medical,water, weapons, I live in North Ga on the side of a mountain I have almost 360 degrees of vision there is one way in and the same way out,so I know when someone is coming up to me the tin cans raddle .. I have prep enough I can hold out for at least 9 mts maybe longer if needed,then I would have to break out the c-rations but this is one prepper who is preped and have done it slowly so as not to arouse any suspicious I am not for the draft..evedently this administration does not know that people die when you go to war we lost to many in this Vietnam era and now we are loosing men now in Afghanistan war.. so now I will get off of my soap box and be quiet for a few.....

My grandson will be 18 in October. This upsets me terribly. His saving grace right now is that he recently fractured a vertebra in his lower spine. I feel horrible to be thankful for him having a fx to his vertebra.

My daughter was in Marines! They were tested for War! One gentleman Marine committed,I don't want women fight with me, because my life is in danger watch to protect them they are able to keep up with men! My daughter hurt her self carrying other soldiers on her back ! I agree women aren't build for it physically or mentally!
I am a 54 yo female veteran. Served in the Army Reserves as a nurse. Was deployed during Desert Storm to Saudi Arabia. I served proudly and left my husband and 3 month old son at the time. But I absolutely agree with you in that women do not belong in combat at all. I now have 3 adult sons 33 , 27 and 24 and I pray that none of them are forced to enlist because it’s not the same as it was 30 years ago. Pray for our sons and our country 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I have 3 sons. My middle son was in the army and sent to Iraq. He made it home but came back a different man. PTSD is real and it is absolutely heartbreaking what it does. Not just to the one with it but the immediate family suffers just as much. His wife divorced him and they had 3 children. He hasn’t spoke to me in over 10 years. I tried to get him help but he wouldn’t stay on his meds. Once I knew he was homeless and living in the woods I managed to get him home and had him help through the VA. It didn’t last long and I came home from work and he was gone. My other 2 sons never went into the military but they did try to help their brother as well. I don’t want this for your daughters. It’s bad enough for our sons.
He probably had to do things that was against his morals and then haunted him after the deed was done.

Y'all I couldn't sleep last night....I have kids and I have a lot of friends who has drafting age. There's always upsetting and nerve wracking news everyday.
My neighbor is a drill sgt at a miliary base here in San Antonio and my daughter teaches at that bases high school. The Drill Sgt told me last weekend they graduated 150 cadets that Friday and on Monday 350 new recruits were starting, so there are some youngsters signing up, but at the high school on base out of 150 graduates, only 4 signed up. I think you see military guys don't push their kids that way. Over 2/3 of the graduates of the high school had over a 90% grade equivalent, the military famlies push for high grades and college, not signing up. However, if you go to one of the largest isd's in San Antonio with over 650 graduates, half will be signing up for military and they get recognized for it just as if they had a scholarship from a major university.
I don't think they'll have a college deferment like they did in Viet Nam, so isn't that avenue even taking a chance. Well, at least they're steering their kids away from the USmil.

We turn into mama bears!! No way would I want my grand daughters drafted, that’s ridiculous! My husband was drafted into Vietnam! Even though we knew it was a possibility, he was a male, but it didn’t make us happy and so many didn’t come back. Our country was built on the lives of our young men. Doesn’t mean it’s right!! NO women are not meant for war. But, I don’t think they should be in male sports or males in females sports!! What’s wrong in America!!

10th amendment. Federal government should only take care of constitutional and federal issues. State and local government should care for the rest. Feds need to stay out of education and health care and every other issue they threaten to cut funding for if we don't follow their rules.
