Danke für die wertvollen Tipps. Es gibt so viel freie Flächen zwischen den Häusern ich bin für eine weitgehende Selbstversorgung ohne Pestizide und Handelsketten.

This method is probably fine in a warm country, ( the collected stems would probably have usually been thrown away ?🌿🤔..most looked wilted...🌿🤔)... but would it work in a cooler place like England ? I was just thinking, our growing season is shorter than the (likely) location here... But maybe we could put the soil boxes in a greenhouse ? 🤔😊 Some of the root and stem " cuttings" here look much fresher than the bundle of twigs he started with, but I'm still giving close attention to this method : It's just Propagation....😊🌿👍 Would it work with WHITE potato stems and roots ? E.g.," Desiree", "Maris Piper"? ( DESIREE is quite a hard potato when uncooked, so if you had a big crop, they might store easier...? 😊🌿👍)... And what about Tomato stems ? In 1976, ( hot dry summer, not nice ! Tummy bugs and water shortage) : I started with one tiny " Money Maker " tomato plant, in a cooking COLANDER of soil. It drank one pint of water per day, once it reached about 2 feet tall, on a small " suntrap" window sill. After the season, I saved the stems ( had HAD to prune off one huge stem : enormous !) I put the stems from the old plant in water, and they sprouted roots ! Seems to me these rooted stems could become new plants, giving a " Flying start " to the next crop...Has anyone tried this ? Seeds take months to get to that size.....Must research ! In U.K, many folk don't have gardens, but many places sell peat - free " compost " (I always associate the word " Compost " with piles of garden /kitchen waste that rats find attractive to nest in ! ). So several big bags of " compost ", although needing money to buy them, would be o.k.... But you can re-use the soil after use , presumably feeding it some fertiliser 😊🌿 .😊🌿Sweet potatoes have Vitamin C, and they make nice " crisps "...so these potatoes are not just " carbs " With the method shown in the video, the whit polystyrene boxes were broken for harvest, but you might use something else to hold the soil : needs a good depth to accommodate those big tubers😊👍. A very hopeful method to help feed our planet's billions of people, soon to go from 7 (?) BILLION , to NINE BILLION 🤔⚠️.
