Good old Burnley. The Order may soon be the saviour of Great Britain as more and more 3rd world anti Christians enter our beautiful lands. Warm handshake from Scotland.
The Orange tradition is incredible. In Scotland, we celebrate every Saturday before the 12th and the streets in Glasgow are mobbed. Best wishes, from Loyalist Scotland.
I live in England but I hope to get across next year for the 12th. Makes me so proud when I hear these bands. I know they have them here but it's just not the same.
You must. Having returned last week, I'm still in a state of partial Euphoria! Make sure you attend an 11th night bonfire too. Larne has the biggest. These people are the best of British. Happy simply at being themselves. Something we in England can rarely and barely experience.
Observation on this years 12th. The Belfast bands are all booming in membership, to the point where it would be good for new areas to consider forming new bands as the interest and numbers is clearly there. Would be great to see some Pipe, Silver or Accordion bands formed in Belfast it would really add to the colour of the day. Another observation is that lodges need to boost their memberships, very poor show for many.
I believe there is a reason for this. Secularisation Despite what many would try claim, those that join the Order would tend to be practicing protestants, obviously there are still many who aren't practicing and join the Order but in general those that join are more religiously inclined even if you couldn't call them practicing. Those that join bands and not the Order tend to be "Cultural protestants". They aren't religious at all.
This is not Irish culture. You can dress up this rubbish by writing in Irish Gaelic, but it is no more Irish culture than there is a man on the moon waving down at you. You Muppet.
The Orange Order were considering shortening the route for this year. Fortunately this plan has been cancelled and it will maintain the traditional route.

So this is an exaggerated half truth. Yes the pope did support William as they were part of the same alliance against France. But he didn't financially or physically support him. And he also turned against him in 1693
Don’t think it’s close to dying at all over 40 bands just for the Belfast 12th alone?? And I was there the crowds are always there in the way back more than the way there

Is this indirectly related to the " colonists" all over the UK and South Ireland?

You have put fifes n drums instead of Fairhill , needs changed
Thanks, I didn't know the name of the band because they had a plain skin on the drum. I will add Fairhill now.
I thought these marches had moved to benidorm
There are parades on the 12th of July in Benidorm, Southport and various locations across Northern Ireland.
Noticed a banner " keep the twelfth".
Who is going to take this centuries old tradition away from us?
