- 119 km Bengaluru - Mysuru Expressway project on NH-275 is an under construction 6-10 lane access-controlled highway with a route alignment in Karnataka.
This mix of brownfield-upgrade (60%) and greenfield (40%) project was envisioned as an alternate to the now-scrapped Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) Road.
The expressway is expected to be inaugurated and opened in March 2023. This project under Bharatmala Pariyojana (BMP) had a prior deadline of October 2022.
It consists of 2 phases: 58 km Phase 1 between Bengaluru - Nidaghatta and 61 km Phase 2 between Nidaghatta - Mysore. It will have a total of 19 large bridges, 44 small bridges and 4 railway overbridges (ROBs) and 50 underpasses for vehicles and pedestrians.

This project is proposed by Congress CM Siddaramaiah & Sanctioned by Congress Govt. Manmohan Singh. Modiji will just do the opening since he's in power.
MMS was PM during 2004 to 2014. Let's say it was sanctioned in congress rule. Why didn't they complete it until then ??? Does the work take more than 10 years to finish ??? MP pratap simha was on regular visit to see the progress, and see it through the completion. If one MP or MLA was doing this and had work started during congress rule, MMS only could have inaugurated this. But unfortunately they do not deserve it. So many years under congress rule is gone wasted.

Stop commenting like Pratap Simha built this road, its been under planning and designed even before 2010 when Pratap Simha was just reporter. It has taken efforts all those from 3 Governments in power to get to this phase.

WHAT PROGRESS!! I remember travelling on this Highway as a child!! There were ONLY 2 lanes around 20 years ago and that road was extremely dangerous with lots of curves. WHAT A TREMENDOUS TRANSFORMATION!!! AMAZING!!! 👏👏

I rode my car in this highway few days ago. That Ramnagaram bypass is literally heaven especially if you travel in the morning time around 8-9 AM.

Really proud to be living in the era where India really growing up as developing country, still last 67 years we make ourselves still developing developing country... How many years... No proper expressways or National Highways... They built but not properly maintained... After Modi Government came to power, really seeing the difference what is developing country... Hope we can see good progress in coming years...

What is currently doing is reducing travel time, also i mentioned no proper expressways and national highways... Which means highways are present but it is just 4 lane (2-2) not like 6/8(3-3/4-4). Which they are constructing now... So understand those words properly... May be 1-2 NHs are like that for max 100kms distance like 3-3. But now building proper expressways n Highways.

I remember as a kid...as much as Mumbai Pune expressway was a BIG deal; used to follow for years in magazines, and paper, the progress of Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway in S India. It was brainchild of Devegowda, if I was not wrong. It was mired in corruption with diff state Govts, feeling sad and impatient to see something finish. I don't think we appreciate enough how this is now 'just' one of several expressways coming in India and now we expect it all to be done in just one Govts term.
Sorry..it t was not brain child of deve Gowda... He was pm and his son was cm for two times,,, we didn't see any progress then ....it's just the hard work of gadkari ji that's it....
@@ripper7834 I donno what your talking about. Where did I say it wasn't. When I said as a kid...I meant 90s. You should go check who signed the MoU on the original Bangalore-Mysore highway. Where this took decades...Mumbai-Pune expressway showed the way on what stern administration can do.

This is my regular riding route. Currently, bikes are allowed on the expressway. But after completion of the road, bikes will have to use the service road. It is a very scenic road and quite enjoyable too. There's a huge issue of flooding and waterlogging near bidadi during monsoons. It causes traffic congestion and complete blockage of mysuru to blr side of the road and then the traffic is diverted to the other side. It's scary during the rains.

They opened up more just 2 days after this video was released. Only a couple minor detours. Roads are amazing. I hope they introduce street lights though for night driving. Great progress overall.
This is a commendable and invaluable gift to the citizens. There is no doubt that there will be tremendous boos to development in all spheres like Social, Education, Trade and Commerce etc., because of this project. However, there a few very critical and extremely important things observed during the present trial runs, where this Expressway is open to public and I have driven at varying speeds right across the entire stretch to test and experience this Expressway. Following are the observations:
1. Many drivers just do not understand the concept of Lane. On extreme right lane, they drive at 40-50 KMPH thereby tremendously cutting down speed of other vehicles driven by seasoned and good drivers at 80-120KMPH. I suggest each lane should have a speed limit below which a vehicle cannot drive; this is vital from safety and efficiency point of view. Else, a truck driver or some non-confident driver drives extremely slow and that too on right lane which is meant for high-speed traffic.
2. A few drivers I interviewed, didnot know why lanes were marked. Some said it correctly that they need to drive within a lane. Others said it is to make the road look beautiful(!!!); i saw such drivers drive with lane marking right at centre of their vehicle i.e., their vehicle was half in one lane and half in adjacent lane!! Such drivers need to be warned first and penalised heavily in subsequent violation.
3. At curves, the expressway doesnot seem to be having the cant ie outer edge is not sufficiently elevated thereby tending the high-speed vehicles to get toppled at curves; it would be better to get this cross checked for correctness of construction by a professional third-party Engineering Consultant.
4. Lots of 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers are presently plying; hope this will be stopped from safety point of view once Expressway is formally opened.
5. number of fuel stations, restaurants and rest-rooms are inadequte. Also, extreme importance should be given for quality and pricing of food so that looting doesnot occur. Daily inspections by authorities is essential to ensure cleanliness of rest rooms.
6. Signages are grossly in adequate; if we have to get off to taluks enroute, there is no way to know where to get off. This needs to be addressed.
7. There is substantial reduction in speed while driving at night because of lack of confidence for driving at day-time-speeds due to poor visibility/inadequate road signages, oncoming vehicles high-beams etc. These need to be addressed.
8. I could not find any first-aid centres enroute; hopefully this will be established soon.

The Shimoga-Tumkur NH206 is also nearing completion. While not as great as this one but it's gone tremendous change.
@Aniruddha Vasudeva no not yet. It'll open completely around 2024 March. At least that's what has been promised. But still, till Kadur the road is open on all lanes. But work from Tarikere side is going super fast.

One recommendation from an audio engineer try to avoid Plosives (P's and B's) they are very disturbing for viewers listening through headphones.
I'm talking about the low 'Pho' sound that your mic captures whenever you speak the letter P or B

i think if you are visiting a city you should also take drone shots of beautiful places of that particular city and post it on a different channel so you can get more outcome from the trip and trip will also be financially viable

Just yesterday I drove from Bengaluru to Mysore. Such a wonderful expressway. Almost 95% completed. There are few diversions before reaching Mysore.
While returning to Bangalore, I took almost 100 min which was even lesser than 2hrs

Flyovers are horrible. They don't solve traffic, they look ugly and make city hotter. At the same time, they ruin existing roads with lots of digging and cutting of too many trees. European and Japanese cities do not have many flyovers
I don't think we can do anything to bengluru. The city must be shifted to nearby villages in phases. The planning of that city is terrible, or should I say that city is unplanned

Yes you're true, Highway 🛣 is splendid 👌 but real hell starts from Bidadi/kengeri onwards due to traffic jams, expect more and more traffic jams from Bidadi itself in near future....forgot to mention that we'll get struck in kengeri itself for 2 hrs during evenings and weekends
We need to wait for the completion of metro construction. Even after that, there would be quite an amount of traffic but no choice, 1.4 CR population traffic expected.
