Spidi Pathfinder cargo trouser review

In this video review, Chris talks through the Spidi Pathfinder cargo trouser. Now, this is a brand new pant for 2020. It reflects, in some ways, what is known sometimes as the changing nature of the bike park. That is to say that biking has changed and is continuing to change. Sports bikes are in decline. New blood, albeit not necessarily young blood, is coming to biking. They are riding more slowly, they are attracted by sit-up, retro bikes from the likes of Triumph, Ducati, BMW et al.. And they are keen to look cool on the bike. The Pathfinder is a pant aimed at this audience. It’s billed as a cargo pant, but it wears so slim that you could never get a tall boot underneath them, although you could wear an off-road style of boot on the outside. This is not the most protective trouser we sell, but if Spidi had had the foresight to supply it with hip armour it would have been rated as AA; and that’s as good as it gets for a textile trouser. This is a pant that’s going to be perfect for some. It’s single-layer, it’s really nice to wear and it’s not expensive. For some people it won’t be right at all. But if you want the full low down, the chap in the cap will, as ever, tell it like it is.

Hi Jon. These do not at present come in a long leg. Spidi do some of their jeans in longer legs so if these go well they might add a longer version. We can order the Klim Outrider pant in a longer leg. Same kind of trouser but more flared at bottom. Let us know if you are interested. ML

Thanks mate, you already sold me a pair o Rokkertechs a few months back. I may pop in when the weather gets a bit springy and see if you’ve got any nice jackets for a very lanky chap.

I liked the look of these, but unfortunately, like so many trousers, they are way too short for me. I wish manufacturers would stop calling a 34 leg “long” ... which it ain’t when you need a 36 !

Pant? Trouser? Is that right leg or left leg. I'll stick to wearing a pair of trousers (plural) and leave the pants to our American friends.
