  • Flying a widebody domestically is always a treat, even more so when it's a 2 hour flight up the east coast! Doing so isn't THAT uncommon as the thumbnail might make it seem (American and Delta routinely uses widebodies to go between Florida & either DC, NYC, Boston, or Philly), but it's still a super cool experience and a much better ride than on a regular narrowbody. While this exact plane didn't have American's newest 787-8 product onboard, I did find the 2 hours in a packed Main Cabin to not be so bad. For the price I paid which was pretty bare bones and the expectations I had, they were either met or exceeded with this experience. I love flying on Dreamliners so whenever I get the chance, it's always awesome. I also like that American is listening to its customers finally and improving on products that didn't work/replacing them with new better things. Hopefully at some point, I'll review the new product on AA's B787-8, but for now this will have to suffice. Hope you guys enjoy!

The Dreamliner is my favorite plane too, I love the dimmable window unlike many people who hate it. Flying at night is a great way to enjoy the moodlighting of the plane. It's weird that the captain started the engines again, usually the plane would be towed to its gate

The remote cord is easy to put back in, you pull it all the way out then it goes back in very easy, its like starting a lawn mower the same process but most young bucks have no idea

I was on AA years ago and the gate at LAX was broken. But it was an MD80, so they just dropped the rear stairs and everyone went out that way and walked from the farthest end gate to the main terminal building.

Inflight magazines are something I miss with this pandemic--AFAIK,the only domestic carrier,UA,still publishes 'Hemispheres'--I would like to visit PA one day, specifically Gettysburg and Hershey. I believe PHL is closer to those two cities than PIT.

You're videos are always captivating me and just the share time you take to edit and whatnot, and then having to manage school stuff on top of that "I know it takes a lot to some extent". However, I love the coverage of this flight from MIA- PHL and the Boeing 787s I'm ever yet to fly on; just continue doing the great work you do and wish ya the best with School and btw "I like those pants you got on and I'm wondering where could I possibly buy them😁"
Another thing I wanna point out and I'm sure we both definitely agree "those Biscoff Cookies wouldn't even last 10-15 minutes max haha but they're nice"

I flew this route, but in the opposite direction in May 2021. I also upgraded to Main Cabin Extra. It was my first time on a 787, and it was one of the best flights I've been on. Just wished it was longer.

Still a great ride up the coast! I've been on their 787 main cabin in the mid-2010s but I've only got on the Flagship Business (domestic First) cabin last year post-pand, when the airfare was pretty much rock bottom - so was the service, and that was the one I uploaded. Both were on the DFWORD ping pong service. Someday I'd want to be on the main cabin again and film it.

Great video as always, but two things. I don’t care for the music which is a bit too loud when the aircraft is taking off, it drowns out the engine sounds. And also fast forwarding through the landing. So many other bloggers do that which is a bit annoying. I love seeing full takeoffs and landings. Thank you for sharing your trips with us. I always look fir water to them.

No kidding haha!! I flew this route back in March on way to Norfolk that following night. It’s also the exact same gate too!! That was my first time on the Dreamliner (had to take advantage of those wide body planes) and it was very enjoyable. We ended up go-around on final approach due to traffic on the runway. (That was also, my first go-around.)

@@thejazzguy13 That's awfully thin skin you have, and you're paranoid to boot. I do know that I have been respectful in my communication with you. I left feedback (see below) on your AE175 KMIA / KEYW video, which you chose to ignore:
"Chris, you are easily one of my favorite UA-camrs, if not my favorite. Your videos stand out because you avoid inserting yourself at the center of them, unlike so many other UA-camrs (aka "influencers"). In routinely avoiding the spotlight, you acknowledge that your travel videos are about travel, not about you. You rightly maintained focus on the travel, the scenery, and the overall quality of the air service. And, by using scrolling text, you were able to share opinions and observations unobtrusively. The scrolling text complemented your videos because it was simple and effective. It enhanced the overall enjoyment of the videos and it also enhanced the quality of the videos. These were all your signature elements. However, in adding voice over to your newer videos, Chris, you are fundamentally changing the feel of your videos. There was a certain artistry to the videos that contained little or no voice over. Chaplin's primary criticism of the talkies is that they lacked the artistry of silent films. Your other videos were effective because the images and the occasional scrolling text were the only elements that you needed in order to tell your story. The newer videos with the voice over have a clunky, novice, and campy vibe. It's analogous to covering a ribeye in catsup. The voice over is unnecessary, its distracting, and it kills the artistic "vibe" of thejazzguy13 videos. Chris, if you intend to continue using voice in future videos, I strongly encourage you to learn techniques that ensure that the voice over enhances the video. You should also consider investing in elocution lessons."
Funny that you ignored the polite feedback, but responded quickly when you received criticism from multiple viewers. Son, your reaction is not unlike that of a petulant 12 year old who was just turned down after auditioning for his school's talent show. Grow up, learn to take constructive criticism, and by all means - - keep experimenting with the formats. The one you have doesn't work.
