    Chicano is, I think, associated with la frontera i.e. the borderlands
    Spanish speakers in Texas for whom one might say ‘the border crossed them’ rather than ‘they crossed the border’

    • @SoyElta
      @SoyElta Рік тому

      Literally meaning is "big male goat" Cabra is goat, Cabron is big male goat. Billy goats are notorious assholes, so yeah pretty much means bastard.

    • @beardomcgee5005
      @beardomcgee5005 Рік тому

      It does.. like dumbass, bastard etc.. it's not really that big of a deal lol. People lovingly refer to each other as pinche cabron all the time. Like you fuck up and do something funny on a job site, you're gonna get hit with a couple of "ahh pinche cabron"s and everyone will laugh and it's business as usual..
      Maricon is different, it does mean like super gay, effeminate, flamer. However you would describe someone who's out and loud and proud lol..
      Joto means faggot.. so be careful with that one. That one could get you punched lol..

    • @sbz666_
      @sbz666_ Місяць тому

      It means bastard, asshole, etc. "Ay cabron don't spray me with your cum I swear I'm straight". Maricon actually means the eff slur.

      @agusrum94 Рік тому

      @Anthony Hurtado back in the day when someone was known to go in the barn of ranches and fucked the goats, he earned the nickname cabrón that's the origin according to my granpa

    • @beardomcgee5005
      @beardomcgee5005 Рік тому

      Cabron literally means "male goat". But when used in slang it means like dumbass..
      Pinche cabron could be used or confused as "goat fucker" I guess.. But actually calling someone a goat fucker wouldn't really roll off the tongue as it's "follador de cabras"

      @@TAZEROXFORD no the proper text book definition of Chicano is an American born citizen with Mexican national parents. If you call yourself a tejano that's more of a identity thing, like if you call yourself a los angelino. It has nothing to do with your ethnicity like Chicano does

      @TAZEROXFORD Рік тому +2

      @@buhshmuh lmao not true at all. I speak more Spanish in Dallas than I do English
      Didn’t see the second comment. I guess the official term may mean that, but as a Mexican born now living en los yunai estai I personally have never encountered any Mexican Americans that consider themselves Chicano unless they’re from CA. At this point it is more of a cultural identifier than a catch all, especially since so many different Latino communities have developed in the US since that term was coined. You got your texas foos, South cali foos, north cali foos, Florida foos, New York foos, Chicago foos, hell they got foos up in Canada now too.
