    I was surprised not to see a Katamari game on the list. Going from too tiny to do anything to literally collecting planets is so satisfying.

    Getting to ride the brumak in gears of war 2 was also a "giant" power trip. Mowing down locust and taking on tough enemies like reavers, corpsers, and seeders with ease.

    I remember when Luke streamed Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, being able to pilot the divine beast into your enemies was very satifying.

    I love how Gears makes you massive and nearly invincible, then gives you a boss five times as big to fight. You are never that far from being wrecked in that game.
    Though Gears 5 had a similar moment on a smaller scale when you could control a boss character for a little bit

    I’ve got another example for you. This one’s pretty niche, but in level 8 of Transformers Fall of Cybertron, you get to play as the colossal Bruticus, a giant robot that’s hundreds of feet tall, and absolutely demolish a small army of enemies as you take control of a massive airship. Not a well known game outside the Transformers community, but definitely a worthy inclusion.

      Yeah. That boss fight is so epic with how you first have to kill the one of the two bosses, then the way you just afterwards go crazy on the other one using the giant mask.

    The 4 giant divine beasts from BOTW were also great fun to play as in the prequel: Hyrule Warriors - Age of Calamity. Just the number of enemies killed after each divine beast sequence was enough to make anyone's day.

      Honestly, unless the level was short or you avoided most of the enemies, most of the games in the mainstream series (both Dynasty and Samurai) would regularly end with you having wiped out nearly a thousand enemy combatants (if not more...best I ever got was close to *two* thousand).

    I believe the ability for Alice to see invisible flying pig snouts was the "Smoke Me" option, at least in the version of the book I read from that very colorful, but bad smelling, bookstore.

    1. The surprisingly fun ent level in Lego lord of the rings.
    2. The bonus level in Lego the hobbit (in which you play as stone giants).
    3. The Kashyyyk mission in Jedi fallen order where you ride an AT-AT.

    The times when Clank becomes massive in the Ratchet and Clank series. Really fun that Ratchet rides around on HIS back while Clank suddenly has missiles and lasers, when he usually spends most of his time as Ratchet's rucksack.

    I'd say you left out Giant Clank, but he's for fighting giant monsters and other giant robots more than anything, so it's not entirely focused on the same thrill as the list. The tanks and helicopters you annihilate are minor players compared to the boss you have to square off against.

      Clank sections have always kind of frustrated me, personally. You can't upgrade him in any way, so in challenge mode he's kind of severely nerfed.

      No, I'd say Giant Clank fulfills the same niche. You're still stomping enemies that Ratchet would struggle with, and even get to destroy obstacles in your path. Unless memory fails me anyway

      In later gamesgiant clank was annoying and gimmicky but the original game version is basically the alice one, difficult enemies are suddenly simple.

    How about Final Fantasy 13 when Hope gets control of a giant mech?
    You are completely immune to damage, and get to just wipe the enemies in front of you with stomps and swipes. Or just walking over them!

      Yes, but that was _FFXIII_ far enough into the game that everyone knew they hated (or in the jaded cases, felt apathy for) the characters (such as they were), knew the plot was stupid, and unless they absolutely loved the combat system had stopped playing the game hours earlier.

    I would also suggest the Kong sections from the King Kong video game, Kratos sizing up to Ares, and (although it is in no way scripted, one still can absolutely wreck house) playing as a Rancor in LEGO Star Wars (either The Force Awakens or the Skywalker Saga). Great video, as usual!

    Going to mention Mechwarrior 5. You spend the entire game in a giant robot, fighting other giant robots, helicopters, and tons of tanks that are just right for stomping. As you progress the mechs get larger. In some of the missions you are tasked with destroying bases, and one of the fastest ways to do that is to literally walk through buildings.

    If I remember right, the very first God of War also had you finally take on Ares as a giant Kratos. A bit of an on the nose clash of titans.

    Personally my favourite "Become giant and crush your enemies" sequence is the last third of Giants: Citizen Kabuto. They even put it in the name of the game, just so we'd know big smashy times were a-comin!

    There’s a couple of quests in WoW where you get to take control of the big bad and stomp around a bunch.
    The best one though is when you get to play as one of the final bosses in the Burning Crusade, Illidan. And the specific quest actually has you battle a raid of “players” (who are just npc’s). It’s really fun and you can *almost* cause a wipe if you know what to do: kill the healers first.

    Jade Empire eventually gives you an ability that lets you transform into a Jade Golem, a teracotta warrior the size of a Battlemech carrying a pair of giant axes.

      @@drizztdourden666 There's a few 'styles' that transform your character into some kind of demon or another; the Jade Golem style can be found when you're fighting jade golems in the secret police HQ, IIRC.
      I don't recall it actually being all that useful. But hey, where else are you going to put your skill points at that point in the game? Muskets?

    The first game I ever finished was SpongeBob Squarepants: Creature From the Krusty Krab on GameCube. Each level was a different character's dream and in the plankton levels he turned into a kaiju and rampaged throughout Bikini Bottom. Fun game, the Patrick levels were my favourite.

    Playing Grimlock was definitely a highlight in Transformers: Fall of Cyberton. You just got to play as this giant robot that turns into a robot T-Rex that breathes fire on it's enemy. It is absolute carnage. Glorious glorious carnage.

    Kirby Planet Robobot frequently sends you through levels where you had to dodge and weave around tricky patches of enemies as a giant mecha-Kirby who can smash through practically everything. So satisfying.

    In Star Wars the Old Republic, on Iokath this happens at least twice.
    2nd time is "just" a large walker. In a daily mission.
    1st time however, is the War Droid. Twice the height of the Walker.

    the Giant Clank sections in the first three Ratchet and Clank games were awesome. Your backpack-sized robot buddy turning into a robot that wears YOU as a backpack and letting the player stomp around firing off missiles and bombs and utterly wrecking everything in his path? The best.

    Dormin: oh so I was the final boss all along
    Madness Returns: I am having an adult accident right now. maor crush!
    I keep bringing up Automata from time to time but it almost has literally everything, including a short lived section where you get to play as Pascal, who then hijacks one of the massive factory bosses that have given you so much trouble more than once in the game, making short work of the waves of enemies coming at you. nothing depressing happens right after that, nope. nothing to throw my heart in the bin over at all

    I just realized that Shadow of Collosus was accidently bringing back Dorman and he just gets sealed again anyway.
    So in the grand scheme nothing even happened

      (And it probably set up ICO and The Last Guardian, but the lore's really vague.)

      True. After Dormin gets sucked into the light, all that's left is a baby with tiny horns on his forehead.
      At the end of ICO, when you take off the helmet on the beach you find out it's not a 'horned helmet' after all, the boy _has_ horns that go THROUGH the helmet.

    My immediate thought for this one was Knight's Contract for the 360. Your super move in that game involves your partner character (a witch) growing gigantic and sitting/standing/lying down on the enemy. It's a weird game.

    I feel like the Odin from Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty campaign qualifies. Giant honking mecha that first you get to stand behind and support as it absolutely levels everything in its path. Then the next mission you take direct control and destroy an entire base with it

    I think it's hilarious Gears takes a break from the endless chest high wall, cover based shooting, to give you a giant robot to rampage with...and then tells you to take cover.

    Honourable mention to the Jade Golem form in Jade Empire. You only get to play around with it for a few fights, but activating it during a boss fight and stepping on them to decimate their health felt very satisfying.

    Transformers: Fall of Cybertron has a memorable scene where you combine the Combaticons into Bruticus, and proceed to smash up a giant Autobot transport ship. Easily my favorite part of the game!😁

      ​@@iainjames03, not the original game. Sure, you were gigantic for most of it, but take enough damage and you revert to your human form...and, if you were playing two-player, your partner/enemy could *eat* you like any normal human (and heal a bit, to boot).

    The Indy rogue game Streets Of Rogue has an item you can find called the “Giantizer” that does just that. While giant, you destroy just about anything just by running into/over it.

    Nearly every level of Titanfall 2 fits this. Whenever you hop into BT, suddenly all the soldiers and little robots that were killing you are entirely helpless to stop you, only another titan poses a threat, and even then their odds aren't good.

    You guys forgot about the Great Fairy weapon for Link in Hyrule Warriors/Zelda Musou!!! It literally puts you in control of a giant great fairy and smack the ever loving crap out of the hordes that swarm you! Also sad you guys didn’t use the version of the blob where Katamari Damaci is playing xD

    The Senran Kagura series. Hibari has a special Ninja Art to make herself big, which means that, while brief, you can become big whenever you want (as long as Hibari is playable). In Estival Versus, you can control what direction the huge Hibari stomps in too.

    One moment of giant superiority for me was red alert 3’s shogun executioner, which you control two times where one mission is pretty hard to fail due to its overwhelming power and the penultimate mission which is also just as easy, you just need anti air and you are good

    Does the werewolf transformation in Skyrim count? During the first transformation in Whiterun, I ALWAYS run to the Drunken Huntsmen inn, go up the stairs, smash Nazeem in his sleep and devour his heart. Since I was an unrecognizable werewolf, I get no bounty put on me. Now, I never need to hear about not going to the Cloud District even though I go to the Dragons Reach palace constantly.

    I played Alice: Madness returns ALOT. But I never noticed the dress beeing changed once she grows big and when she gets small again. It's just a minor detail but now it bugs me.

      @@ДмитрийЗеленский-ж7х No, I'd prefer the enlarged dress beeing the same as the one when she's small. Including the possibility of having the dress from another story part be enlarged instead of the lazyness of exchanging her dress for the default one and back. Since they managed to enlarge the model of the default dress, it shouldn't be that hard to enlarge the other dresses too.

    I got one- in Serious Sam 4 when you get to control the Popemobile mech. Stomping on top of enemies, shooting a barrage of missiles just hearing enemies getting squished. Soo satisfying

    I know you guys don't play rts very much but Age of Mythology expansion pack " the titans " has campaigns where you get titans. And they are super satisfying in destroying buildings and units.

    My first thought was Ms. Marvel in Square Enix's 'Marvel's Avengers'. Not only are there levels of the campaign that let you get big and kick butt, but going big and being extra super is an ability she can use during regular gameplay.

    13:30 The Swarm aren't aliens. Considering they're mutated native inhabitants of the planet which the entire game takes place on. Heck you could even argue most of the swarm is human since the Locust in Gears 1-3 are mutated humans and the human-like Swarm are just further mutated Locust.

    Does the "Rolling Thunder" part of _Halo: Combat Evolved_ count? Most of the time, you're a large amount of metal with limited flexibility and speed but impressive resilience and firepower, smashing your way through the Covenant like a stoat through an army of rats, and then you get a Scorpion tank and suddenly you're a huge amount of metal with limited flexibility and speed but impressive resilience and firepower, smashing your way through the Covenant like a honey badger through an army of three-legged rats.
    Nice gun turret you've parked rather too close to the cliff edge there. Buh-bye, now.

    The Mario and Luigi RPG series has 2 examples. In Bowser’s Inside Story, Bowser can grow to kaiju proportions to fight certain bosses. And Dream Team has Dreamy Luigi doing the same thing.

    I put forth Ganon's Fury AKA Ganon Mode in Hyrule Warriors. It's one of the challenge modes you can do which lets you play as the titular character. Not only are you able to squish and easily defeat many regular enemies, but now even the giant bosses which gave the other smaller playable characters much trouble are much easier to deal with.

    I had to think of the Attack On Titan Game on PS4, where you can actually turn into a Titan and punt around the smaller titans like footballs. Fun times.
