WW season 1 is propbably one of my favorite first seasons of all time which is why I wanted to watch it to the end. Absolutely not worth it, the last two seasons felt like an entirely different (really generic) show
Westworld season 1 is unironically one of the best tv series ever made. It’s a shame that is goes downhill after season 1 and just crashes and burns spectacularly.
I don't really think Shiv became a housewife though, she made it pretty clear she wasn't fit to be a mother, wouldn't be able to really care for her child (she's the most similar to her dad after all) and would want to go back to work right after the baby's birth. Obviously it won't be as CEO but I'd assume she'll trade places with Tom and work together (but being under him) or maybe go back to politics
This video gives HBO a LOT more credit than they deserve when it comes to good TV shows. The vast majority of the shows you mentioned being good were in the process of being written and shopped around when HBO came and said they'd fund the development. They don't get involved with the writing or direction etc, they don't have a hand in the quality of the end products. They just fund the development, and they get the best shows by paying the most and telling the writers and directors that they won't interfere. This video makes it sound like there's a team at HBO creating all these hit shows, when in reality there's just a team buying all these hit shows.
Season 2 is actually great too imo, you just have to watch it a few times to really digest the time jumps. Season 3 is trash. Never saw Season 4. But yeah season 1 could have been the entire show and I would have been very happy
I think that roman has a dark future ahed of him, yeah he is "free" but at same time completely broken, without a purpose and the way he looked at that martine was very sad "like foreshadowing alcoholism in his future"
Shiv backstabbing Kendall even after they as brother and sister tortured him and supposedly came to peace with the choice of letting him take the head of the company was so frustrating. I was just not shocked though considering they like Logan said we’re so unserious and in the end it brought them all down. I feel so bad for Ken because he’s just like looking at the waves as if he should just jump in them and is so freaking lost.

The best part of that show for me was the song didn’t like the ending at all and i didn’t like the fact that they killed Logan off so soon and to me the dialogue was repetitive also a few storylines that ended without explanation I liked the show but I can’t put it in my all time list
The show could’ve been a miniseries or long movie and the narrative would be there. The scores carried the seasons and it was just fun to watch but yeah I agree with you. Six Feet Under is my personal favorite

I agree with your take on Succession - I love your work and videos, but I can't help but comment on your HBO Mount Rushmore. How do you have GoT in there after how horrific and lazy the writers, producers and showrunners were. Not only did they make fans wait for years, but the writers fled the country to avoid backlash they knew was coming. 1-7 was great, but season 8 makes the show almost unwatchable for anyone trying to re-watch it.
I would argue that when it comes to TV it's quite the opposite here the overwhelming majority of professionally produced shows are mediocre or possible. that is they aren't awful to the point of being unwatchable but they definitely aren't anything special. they are just pablum churned out _en masse._

They have a niece following call because almost anything can get that, but the average person will think they are crap. that's what I'm talking about. most TV shows are at least good enough that if you took your average person, of average intelligence come and average political leaning they could watch it and get at least some entertainment out of it; that is it is a functioning and professionally produced product that hits all the right points. I think the point that the guy is trying to make in this video, whether you agree with him or not, is that HBO tends to get some more extreme, where they have true winners, and others that end up completely screwing themselves. i.e. _NCIS_ is not going to make it into any cultural treasure chests, but it's going to continue to be a decent show without any major flaws in Taylor unless it gets canceled
I think the Larry Sanders show is a pre cursor to curb. And curb past season 9 became a scripted sitcom and lost the essence that made me like it so much. But Larry Sanders finished strong.

I really hated this series. If you watch episode one and then the last episode you literally get everything you expected and was explained in the first episode. There is no arc and I don’t know why they would want their fathers love when he’s not a father or has any love to give unconditionally. They also don’t have to do anything but sit and wait around to collect their 2billion dollar inheritance and start their own business and lives. And if they can’t make a company that will get them power and respect with 2B dollars then they don’t deserve it. The only good thing I like about this show is the theme song and intro.

He also was a terrible businessman not choosing his successor and letting his hard work go to some random person who married his daughter.
