The one thing I’ve learned in this game is that patience and endurance are your best weapons. There’s always one player that breaks and starts attacking
Turtle strategy in Australia only works because people don't know how to keep the balance of power. I normally would try poking the turtle with small stacks non blitz. I stop the attack when troop count gets under 4 and then reinforce back to my stack. Chances of an attacker killing 2 defenders is 37%, 34%both armies lose 1, and 29% chance attacker loses 2. Thus odds are always in the attackers favor but only if they attack with 3. Hence the manual attack and reinforcing to save your remaining 1-2 troops. Thus your higher income and better odds means over time you will become stronger and stronger. Forcing the turtle to make a move to try to maintain balance of power.
I played a 6 person capitol conquest on the huge world map, 2200AD or whatever its called, and i won because we went for like 3 hours until they all slowly gave up and i just had to deal with bots 😤👌😂

Soon it will be: 5 player fixed card alliance off classic map Australia strategy I have been using Because no Australia no win. Literally. It is a continent and you must capture it.
Yellow did play really awful in the end. The worst mistakes were the attack of purple around 25:22, which lead to nothing except weakening both armies and the attack of blue around 26:27, which triggered blue to stop his attack on red and turn on yellow. Really stupid. The best move for yellow would have been waiting for a move like blue did with South America and then attack Greenland to create two fronts and maybe hoping, that purble joins in with attacking Alaska. Interestingly, purple probably had the best position, even though it received the fewest units per turn. Simply because there were no massive border conflicts. Asia was just there for each player to get cards each round. The armies of blue and yellow were tied to the border between Europe and Africa. Blue and Yellow also had to leave some units in West Africa and Iceland, to protect their continents against red. So purple could have concentrated its units on one huge army to wait until the other armies start to fight each other at some point, and then fought the weakened armies. Here, the biggest mistake was splitting the units between two armies, which eventually became the undoing when Yellow attacked.
I guess I would have blitzed his army then 😯 Well, depending on how big his army would have been and in which part of the game he would have done that 🤔
Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying my videos! 😊 It's sad that you couldn't make it to the last sub games, but don't worry, I'll be hosting them on Sunday again, so hopefully you'll be able to join this time
Great video! I wish orange had stuck around a little longer and took out purple and put pressure on blue to do something about you. Blue lost the game for everyone when they didnt contest south America, I think. I would love to know what you would have done in orange/blue/purple's position? Like what strategy you might take from each players position!
Thank you for watching! 😎 If I were blue, then at first place I wouldn't have let red to capture South America, I would have captured it for myself instead. It's important in fixed card games to be as strong as other players if possible. As if someone disconnects, then you won't be in disadvantage. In one of my recent games, there were 4 player left, one of them disconnected and after few turns another one disconnected as well, so there was me and one more player left, unfortunately I wasn't as strong as him, and of course since it's easy to beat bots after you defeat real opponents, that player took me out and I've got a 4th place. Nothing I could really done about that.... Also another reason why you don't want to be one of the weakest players, is because one the strongest players could safely take you out without ruining the balance of the game. So anyways, if I were blue, then I would have definitely captured South America for myself. I would have been building a big army in Brazil in order to not irritate red and at the same time discourage him of potentially invading SA. Also I would have build another big army in either North Africa or East Africa as well... If I were blue at the moment the orange player disconnected, then I would have invaded red into NA, leaving my biggest 150+ army there, in order to stop him to dominate the game... If I were blue, orange or purple, after red captured South America, then I would have just continued waiting. Unless you can afford it, or unless it's needed for the balance of the game, then you should avoid making conflicts as much as possible, you need to do as less unnecessary attacks as possible. In one of my recent games I was holding Australia, and I decided to do a sneaky tactic to clear out all of the South American player troops from Asia, so he would have became blocked in SA. Nobody were holding NA, but one bot had some frozen not so small armies over here, and one player had a very huge army in Alaska territory, while Africa and Europe - both were captured by other players. So no way I thought the SA player can do anything to me. But guess what, he combined his troops into one big army, fortified his troops next to Alaska, next to one player's big army, and that player of course moved his army out to make that SA player a way, and then that SA player suicided on me. He was so mad that I cleared some not very big armies out from Asia, that he even totally lost his sober mind... Needless to say that after he suicided on me, we both got last places, he got 6th and me - 5th. He was an expert rank player, and not some dumb novice. And that just proves that you should be careful playing with any rank players, there can be maniacs at any rank, and grandmasters are not an exception as well...
Hi Champion Ever great half an hour video I knew you would win this one. P.S since it’s getting close to April I must ask, are you going to do a video called “ top great moves that novices make” on April 1st?
I like learning strategy, but I definitely don't care for alliances. My high school buddies and I had house rules that made alliances unbreakable for a number of turns (I won't attack you for three turns and you won't attack me for three turns). Many a fight broke out as someone tried to break their agreement and the rest of us just removed their pieces from the board.
Its so triggering when one person all out goes for the other and instead of retaliating the person being attacked Places his army next to my border and full on attacks like a final kamikaze mission. Giving the player to attack him the win.
If I saw that the balance of the game is broken then I would combine my troops to one big army and invade that player into NA leaving that big army there, so he wouldn't be able to re-capture it. But if I saw that the balance of the game is being sustained, then I would probably do nothing about that, especially if another player is strong as him
I think orange was borred in the game or he must left beacose i don't understand why he disconnect only if he must do something in real life beacose he was 2º in troops and he get always europe.
A lot of focus on what will irritate other players. But if they are good Risk players, they should always do what's in their best interest, not respond to what's irritating.
Yup, but there's a really small amount of them I would say. As even at master rank a lot of people keep suiciding, and in general a lot of people tend to play for the 2nd place it seems 😬
Some advice: It would work better if you paused the game between players' turns to talk about "big picture" strategy and then comment on the players' moves. There's too much going on when you talk over the gameplay, making comments that aren't related to what's happening on the screen.

I see everyone just attacking and moving back and hoarding cards, when ive the two games i have with progressive cards it always seems to just get ridiculous with the amount of troops you get because everyone just does this and keeps hoarding troops, is this a fine way to play and basically the only way if its not progressive or would you rather that not happen and play a different way? Im new to this game and wanting to play more so just seeing if people have thoughts and comments on this thatll help thanks
Usually progressive card games (at least when it comes to 6 player Classic map) are about 20-30 minutes long and very rarely end up in a stalemate because due to the increasing value of cards the main way to win is usually by eliminating players from the game when it's worth for their cards. I would recommend you to watch this video which should help you better understand how to properly play with progressive cards: ua-cam.com/video/kZl93ggwGuc/v-deo.html and then you could watch some gameplays from my progressive cards playlist to see how to apply these tips in practice: ua-cam.com/play/PLIYN5N7_Q4hOWu2ztwNzBjC9T2LliqAk-.html And also I would recommend to turn the camera animations off to be able to attack faster as the speed can be very important for progressive card games: ua-cam.com/video/qGxlYFQfXw8/v-deo.html
Because others wouldn't be threatened by me and wouldn't put a lot of troops next to my borders either, focusing on other players. Or even if I got invaded, then I would only lose one troop. Putting your troops into a big army inside your continent one territory behind your border could be discouraging enough for other players to invade you, as they know that if they mess with you, then your big army could be used on them, but it's usually better to make alliances to be sure.
Play with Balanced Blitz instead of True Random dice odds. In Balanced Blitz 100v90 has 100% success chance (instead of 93%), 160v180 is 65% (instead of 60%)
The attackers have an advantage against the defenders, and especially when it comes to big armies. As when it comes to very big armies you can even win the blitz roll having quite less troops, and as you saw the 170vs180 blitz roll went very well for me, I even had 25 troops left after that. So why I should had given that advantage to my opponent? Haha 😅 If I hadn't blitzed his army, then he would have blitzed my army getting a blitz roll which would have favored him... So it was to prevent him of blitzing me first
