Pilots were a very demanded trades back in 2011, when I joined. I earned my wings in Air Cadets, but ended up as an army officer. As for you - sky is the limit. Good Luck!
Current pilot training is super backed up, I was also going for pilot but was called by my recruiter saying there was a “9 year backlog” you’re fifteen though, I hope it clears up :)
Remember that school marks aren't everything. When I got into RMC, my average was 63%, however I served for 6 years in Air Cadets, became a power pilot, and was socially active. So bad marks are not be-all end-all, recruiting officers are looking for a well-rounded individual. Capt. Tuvalbaev

Didn't have the foresight to finish my high school and get my diploma I'm 34 year's old and I'm zeroing in a career path in the military with post secondary school firm in mind is it to late where the best possible online school to fast track me into the CAF. How healthy and fit do you have to be to get in? Like, do you have to excel at athletics when you first enter? What if you're 'average' only? Like you can do basic exercises but aren't considered athletic.
Basic training is challenging both physically and mentally , but part of it is helping you reach the required fitness level, you can learn more about what to expect here: forces.ca/en/how-to-join/#bt
I by no means consider myself athletic, but made it through just fine. Yes, it’s a lot of work and it is easier if you come in with a stronger athletic background but the staff and your peers support you to help you grow stronger, so it’s definitely possible
Currently I’m 17 and have applied for the ROTP program through the military, was deemed medically unfit however I just sent in an appeal. Hopefully this is successful as becoming a fighter pilot in the RCAF has been my dream for more than 10 years. Been training hard for the past 2 years can’t wait until the graduating parade for the wings.
@@NicoNebula I was deemed medically unfit, as I had childhood asthma which as I grew older I grew out of, apparently I still had the medications for when I was 2-5 still on my medical file for the next 12 years which caused it, I managed to overturn the medical and will hopefully be going to RMC for the 2025-26 year as a pilot, as I have passed my aircrew selections test, if you want to know anything else ill keep on this.
@@charcoal4742 the aircrew selection is hard, like very hard, personally i find tests quite easy it wasnt the case for this one having 20 tests over 2 days totalling 12 hours, however with preparation it can go well for me I scored perfect. you already have to score in the top 5% of aptitude tests, among these only 30% pass for pilots. to prepare i started using apps like CBAT or lumonsity everyday, to get thinking in the way the test is.
this is not the place to ask these questions but i haven't been able to get any clear answers through the CAF website, can you become a pilot through the ROTP program? if not what program would you need to take. Thank you

@@therealmrsteve In my time, you would not get shoulder flashes until you got qualified at least until the phase 3 of your army training. Very few cadets managed to to so before their 4-th year. We respected them. Having no trade, and not at least partially qualified for your trade, screams "showing off". I was an RMC cadet who never went to the RCAC before graduating, and became a crew commander, but not a troop commander. I never whined about having an RCAC cap badge, or having an RCAC flash on my combats. So suck it up buttercups, and wait until you get regimental flashes after Ph.4.

@@TTSilentDeath So nothing changed from 10+ years ago. Back then pilot candidates waited 2 or more years to get qualified.

Why were you deemed medically unfit? My sibling and I are going to try to apply for ROTP this year, but I'm not sure if I can get in.
