Art is Transformative! | YOU Deserve to Take Up Space | Painter Ashley Nora

Painter, sculptor, and muralist Ashley Nora has always had a passion for turning nothing into something. Growing up poor in Mississippi, Nora used art as a way to escape: “Art was how I would run away from home without ever leaving.”
After Hurricane Katrina, Nora moved to Indianapolis where she earned a degree in chemistry. However, Nora eventually combined her love of chemistry and creativity into painting. Nora took a leap of faith and quit her job to become a full time artist choosing to pursue her passion.
Now, you can find Nora's powerful narrative murals and paintings all over the globe, and within the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. She also travels to Swaziland where Nora spends time inspiring young adults with the power of painting.

Love this whole interview, your story, your vibe and your work flow. Your incredible results utilizing chemistry for art that is so dope. First Art movement was started by a Pharaoh of Egypt during the 18th dynasty, Akhenaten. He taught artists to apply naturalism in art for the first time.
