Most people in our country have forgotten (or ignore) Indian Classical Music. It is therefore very humbling to see you playing the Esraj so beautifully and reminding us of our traditions. Music, they say, has no boundaries. You are an example of this. Thank you for sharing your music with us.
He is the direct disciple of the great esraj player Pandit Ranadhir Roy from Shantiniketan, Bolpur, West Bengal, the place brought to global recognition by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. He is one of the finest students of Roy who had stayed there and perfected the skill in esraj.
@@TakashiKOUGO - Yes. I know. I have read about it. It was an untimely demise of a great maestro. And till date there has been no such artist who could elevate Esraj to such a great level. Thank you for giving us this composition. Your music soothes the soul.
Thank you for comment. I was learning Esraj from Ranadhir Roy in Shantiniketan on 1987~1989. I was not vishwavarati University student. Only for private lesson. In 1989 march, I went to Calcutta with my gruji Tukuda (Ranadhir Roy). But after his concert in Calcutta, he passed away by heart attack. Very sad. Namaskar.
অনেক ধন্যবাদ ! , I learned from lagendary esraj player Pandit Ranadhir Roy & violin master Pandit V.G.jog. Also learned Raga from Pandit Manilal Nag, sitar.

This is special made of teakwood esraj. Slightly big size of normal esraj. Because my esraj tuning is D key, normal size is E key. Made by Monoj Kumar Sardar in Calcutta, West Bengal. Best regards.
Doesn't the wrist hurt playing in this position? Seems like a pain to constantly deform your wrist in such a manner, while having to constantly balance the center of gravity if the instrument and play at the same time.
