Hi there, I loved watching your videos of my birth island Fanning Island, and my 2 other beloveds line Islands. I grew up knowing Chuck as a bad white guy, he was married to my neighbour. Bruno as a very nice French guy who is my late uncle's best friend. I left Fanning Island when I was 17, schooling then working in Australia for almost 6 years. Your videos always bring back my childhood memories and making me wonder why I'm here instead of being in a Paradise! Thank you so much for all your videos and I'm so sorry this is happening to you. God bless yr journey to other pacific Islands 😊

Thanks for the video! The Chuck thing is not easy to digest - as is so often the case in life, you only see the meaning in hindsight. You still have decades to enjoy Fanning, your license as a captain will be very helpful in the future, so the time without Fanning is already well spent. I wish you from my heart that all your wishes come true, stay healthy and take care, especially when flying things around, greetings from Germany, Bavaria.
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Small island is probably like a small town, everyone into each other's business, power struggles, jealousy, etc. Glad u were able to get out ok, stuff is just stuff, if u get it back great, if not just start over. All the best.

Been sailing all my life, it is my preferred way of travelling, you get they whole journey without the jetlagg, and many times it is actually the in-between places that are more memorable, just sea, sky, ship and mind;)

I truly wish You and Chuck rekindle your relationship, I saw your photo with Chuck on his FB when you first land on the island (the one with you camera gimbal broke lol). Fresh face with reverse cap & chuck beard
I wonder how many small countries have corrupt / nepotistic governments with arbitrarily enforced laws and arbitrarily decided penalties for violating those laws? If there are a lot of vaguely written rules and untransparent policies for enforcing those rules, it is entirely at the discretion of government insiders what happens. Someone with personal connections to officials inside those governments has power over outsiders - especially noncitizens. I’d imagine Chuck is such a person. He doesn’t want you to be able to compete with him and he is in a position to prevent you from doing that.

The ending of this video is a bit unclear, we all hope you got your home back and could stay on the island at your leisure. That was a horribly mean thing they did to you! Please, can you do more videos and please let us know if you did get to keep your house, really hope so! Anybody who gets involved with Chuck will get screwed. I set him up and he tried to screw me. But I screwed him that's how he ended up in fanning Island. He is now in tarawa friendless.
I thoroughly enjoy your video's, you are really brave and adventurous, i hope you find another adventure or find a way to fix this one. Although a bitter ending Chuck did look out for you a long time, and not being all alone is so much safer, i hope he sees this too sometime and try to heal these wounds.

Maybe they need a "donation". Common actually when traveling to remote places. You are actually promoting tourism/culture in a roundabout way.
