Gotta do "Overkill" guys. Just a relentless blast of rock n roll.
Amen brother. Preach the Overkill! Philthy Animal on drums!
New Machine
Oops, thought you were talking about Overkill the band.
Then they should listen to orgasmatron!
@@anthonygray2818 the band or the song, either one is a win! Cheers!
"If you squeeze my lizard
I'll put my snake on you
I'm a romantic adventure
And I'm a reptile too"
Lemmy was a true poet.
This song is just epic. Maybe one of the most simple songs I'm aware of but it's self sufficient, it doesn't need more. Just 1 chord progression going on and on. We'll all be killed by death, there's something simple, badass and universal in that song. Epic.
I wish these jive turkeys could understand that.
Essential Motörhead songs are “Iron Fist”, “Overkill”, and “Orgasmatron”.
in the name of tragedy
Most of their songs are essentials, imo. Timeless band.
My favorites are "The Chase is Better Than Catch" and "Orgasmatron". You can't go wrong with Motörhead though
Orgasmatron and War Pigs are the two greatest metal songs in my opinion 🤘🏼
Love the storytelling & imagery of "Shoot you in the back"
Im also a fan of Whorehouse Blues and Eat the Rich.
Excellent selections. The Chase... grooves so hard and Orgasmatron is lyrically one of the greatest songs ever. Production let's it down a bit though. Maybe they could react to the Sepultura cover.
I love 'Brotherhood of Man', it kind of has the same vibe as Orgasmatron
RIP to the entire “Ace of Spades” lineup of Motörhead. All three of those dudes are dead.
WHO KILLED THEM??
The classic Motorhead lineup. RIP
@@mutate34 Lemmy - prostate cancer. Philthy Animal - liver failure. Fast Eddie - pneumonia.
@@mutate34 time and lifestyle.
DEATH!!!
Motorhead's "Love me like a reptile" is good, but Overkill is great!
"Love me like a reptile" rocks and makes me laugh at the same time
Oh HELL YES! Overkill has to be the next one.
Iron Fist and Love Me Like A Reptile! Kick ass groove dude! 👍👍👍
Oh, you gotta hit Motorhead's "I Don't Believe A Word", one of the most powerful things they've ever written, and that's saying a lot. Good dynamics, too, especially for the newbies who assume that everything of theirs sounds like "Ace Of Spades".
GREAT deep track.
Motorhead is one of those bands that you just put on and let it play. It's not about one song or two, it's about a vibe you're setting
Agree , i had the pleasure of meeting Lemmy , back in the early 90's. They opened at a small club for Black Sabbath , it was during the Tony Martin era i believe. Anyway the club was in the city where i used to live and grew up in , it was connected to a strip joint. We were waiting for the show to start and in walks Lemmy , i said whats up you guys are awesome "i'm a big fan" and he says thank you very much indeed". We were drinking a pitcher of beer and he joined us. He was the nicest down to earth guy , no ego BS! A class act and i'll always remember that , R.I.P. Lemmy!!!
That said, there are definitely favourite songs, even more than favourite albums for me--and a lot aren't "the hits"!
I can comfirm this
@@glenntilson6509 Agree!
@@mikeg.9238, this isn't Mike Gitter, is it?
I agree with other commenters that y’all should do Overkill, and I’ll also suggest Rock ‘N’ Roll.
Overkill is such a classic. Best drums in any song period.
Funny thing about Motorhead is that they came around when metal and punk were exploding and people were debating whether they were punk or metal. Lemmy always insisted they were just a rock and roll band, and there's some truth to that. Motorhead is basically rock and roll with the energy/rawness of punk and the distortion/speed of metal. It's why they were probably the band that inspired Metallica the most. They were also the singular influence on the entire black metal genre.
Motorhead + Diamond Head = MetallicA
“Singular influence on black metal” id say that’s untrue. Venom, Mercyful Fate, Sodom, Bathory, etc are all contributed to the proto-black metal genre as well
@@falafel1980 Yeah, Celtic Frost
I saw Motörhead on their first U.S. tour opening for Ozzy. Lemmy ended his show with “ We’re Motörhead, we play rock and roll”
@@falafel1980 Motorhead predated all of those bands by a good several years. Venom, the band that basically coined the term black metal and influenced Bathory, were basically a Motorhead-wannabe band. Sodom and Bathory came much later, and the only similarity between Mercyful Fate and black metal is King Diamond's makeup (their music is classic metal ala Priest and Maiden).
Motorhead, specifically Lemmy, deserve the utmost respect. Just a cut above the rest, please do more!
When I first watched you guys as you were just starting down the Metal rabbit hole I warned you. This stuff gets in your blood. You have arrived at the final stages of true Metalheadness! When you are breaking down all the cool things you like about Motorhead songs.....yep you have arrived gentlemen. Welcome to the big dysfunctional family.
Give "I'm So Bad, Baby I Don't Care" a spin. Just Lemmy singing about his life.
It's impossible to listen to this song and not smile. It's just fun.
I MAKE LOVE TO MOUNTAIN LIONS
SLEEP ON RED-HOT BRANDING IRONS
WHEN I WALK THE RUNWAY SHAKES.
One of my Motörhead favs is “Bomber”. Preferably from the “No sleep ‘til Hammersmith” Live Album. Seen them many times. They are missed. R.I.P. Lem. ♠️
i love bomber and burner
Bomber was seriously good live. Girlschool did a great cover too.
@@ianmcevoy7106 Indeed! The Girlschool cover is great. 👍
Some great Motorhead songs include Overkill, Bomber, Damage Case, I'm So Bad (Baby I Don't Care) and We Are The Roadcrew. But you really can't go wrong with Motorhead!
Fun fact about Lemmy, he was Jimi Hendrix roadie!
"Born To Raise Hell" is a classic. There's a remix version that appeared on the soundtrack to the movie Airheads starring Brendan Fraser, Adam Sandler and Steve Buscemi
Stone Dead Forever is one of my favourites, the three amigos lineup (Animal Taylor, Lemmy and Eddie Clarke) was the best for me in all Motorhead glorious years. Eddie really add the blues to their music.
Overkill is the jam
Lemmy just had a birthday Rest in peace Lem
Bomber by Motorhead is a must
motorhead is like the acdc of metal. simple yet effective song writing
Motörhead, AcDc, Ramones, ZzTop. All of them have their own sound that you will recognize every time you hear it. (Btw as Lemmy always said "We are Motörhead and we play Rock N Roll".)
@@kurtrusselltownmassacre6802 Lemmy also said "heavy metal is rock and roll, it's just another name for it." and "Heavy Metal is the true spirit of rock and roll."
My ears never rang louder than after a Motörhead show!
You always knew what you'd get with Motorhead just like AC/DC they lived the if it ain't broke don't fix it philosophy
Accept I've never heard of rockers or metal heads picking on motorhead unlike acdc
"Everything Louder Than Everything else" -Lemmy owned his own self, his sound, his vision, if it sounded like shit, so be it, that's why punks and metal heads and rockers all loved them equally; raw and genuine
“Everything louder than everything else” Ian Gillan Made in Japan
Yes
Motörhead rules Lemmy was a true rock legend who influenced so many bands RIP. I was fortunate to see them live many times.
Motorhead, with the time of their formation and their sound, were a band liked by both punks and metalhead.
How loved was Lemmy? There's a video on UA-cam of Lemmy, not long before his death, onstage saying he was about to collapse and couldn't continue the show. Not one boo from the crowd, just people yelling out for him to feel better and they loved him. People knew Lemmy was the real deal and would perform no matter what, so for this to happen, he had to be feeling pretty bad. RIP Lemmy.
You guys have to react to Overkill! One of their best. Wouldn't mind a reaction to 1916 as well, quite a sombre track, but a great one!
Some of my growing favorites us
" I'm So Bad ( Baby i don't care ) "
" Going to Brazil "
" Angel City "
" One Short Life "
" Buried Alive "
" Over your Shoulder "
" Don't waste your Time "
" Over the Top "
Honestly I could keep going but these wre good jam
Overkill, and or Voices in the Sky are a couple I think you'd enjoy.
This is a good song. I enjoyed listening to it. I never got into Motorhead, but I need to revisit them pretty deeply.
No Remorse was my very first Motorhead album, and boy did it leave an impression! Please check out Iron Fist!
I bought that compilation back in '84. Motorhead was such a brilliant band...check out "Overkill", "Iron Fist", or "Eat the Rich". Hope you guys have a great New Year! Peace out from Detroit.
Check out Overkill, one of my favourite Motorhead songs 🤙
As someone who loves boxing, basketball, and metal: I love y’all’s analogies. Also, you should really check out Ayreon. You’re missing out on some of the best music ever.
This song was also on a live album and its a great version. Motorhead was a great live band. Loud as hell too.
And get back to Clutch already. How much do we have to pay you guys to do the whole Blast Tyrant album. At least do the song Subtle Hustle. Its got serious groove.
Amazing choice! Always loved this tune! One from the era when Motorhead had two guitarists!
Overkill is my favorite album they put out, every song on there is fire. Check out Overkill, Limb from Limb, Pay your Price, Tear ya Down, Metropolis!
Lemmy never gave up even when he knew he was dying from his failing health, he put an album and toured within months of the day he died. He was 100% himself all the time. He rejected chances at big money and fame because it involved changing himself and the band and that wasn't the type of guy he was. You guys need to check out the video of Dave Grohl (nirvana/foo fighters) speaking at Lemmy's funeral.
This song is 💯 in keeping with the Lemmy ethic: born to lose but live to win.
Excellent choice, guys!
One of their best songs, among some onthers.
"Sacrifice" is my suggestion.
Keep it up!
Motörhead bridged the gaps between Rock, Punk and Metal.
Overkill is my favorite. Also Whorehouse Blues. They did some covers that I enjoyed over the original. Sympathy for the Devil is 🔥.
Heroes by Bowie too
@@AB-gb1om YES! And Jumping Jack Flash and Enter Sandman are others that I prefer the cover by Motörhead.
the cover of Metallica's 'Whiplash' is just insane.
@@arto2533The drums 🙌🏻
@@janicepriest6578 hearing Lemmy's bass kickstart that fast riff always makes me tear up a bit. God I miss the dude!
Overkill, Limb from Limb, We are the RoadCrew and The Chase is Better than the Catch
Overkill, followed by Bomber. Two absolutely classic Motörhead tracks. Can’t go wrong with either.
Hey guys please get back to the band THIN LIZZY they were very influential to the thrash/ metal / rock scene , their sound had twin guitar harmonies which many metal bands would later use ,most metal bands have covered a thin Lizzy song , please react to the song ,jailbreak or cold sweat or cowboy song... great channel guys!
Hero and the madman
Thanks, guys. Still loving this channel and your work after all these years!
Now that you’ve gotten through “Ace of Spades” and “Killed By Death” it might make the most sense for an “Overkill” reaction next.
Motörhead guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clark formed a band with the bassist of UFO. The band is called Fastway. Same Motörhead aesthetic, a bit more blues influenced. You’ll probably dig them.
Say what you will! And you will!
I remember sticking on the jukebox eat the rich by Motorhead in the metal bar we use to hang out in...miss those days.
Motörhead: The one to sing the blues. Beautiful.
Yo Happy New Years guys. Lemmy will be waiting in Metal Valhalla on the throne of Spades for all the metal musicians and metalheads!
Yes this reminds all of you of Brütal Legend.
Orgasmatron is great. It all started in 1979 for me when I saw them on the Bomber tour. Deaf for 3 days after, but sheer love for Motorhead after that. Also, Bomber & No Class,
Stand. That's the song, from their March Or Die album. I love Motorhead and so many songs could be suggested and be killer, but Stand has always been a heavy, and a positive, song. Probably my favorite, I've loved it since it's release!
Underrated song and album!
You should do "Overkill" by Motorhead now
More Motörhead suggestions:Locomotive,Back at the Funny Farm,Jailbait,You Better Run,Going to Brazil. There are plenty of other great ones, but you can start with these.
I think you guys would love “Shine” by Motörhead. It has a real groove to it which I know you guys love and is unique in that they hired Brian Robertson of Thin Lizzy for this album only which gives them a different sound. Also, you’d dig the lyrics.
I saw this tour for Motörhead at the variety theater in Cleveland, it was so loud it was painful, parts of the ceiling started falling and they had to end their set a little early.
You guys need to do a punk marathon!
Far too unspecific because there are far too many completely different styles. I'm all in for George and Ryan diving into punk in general, but I think they should do it systematically, either band by band throughout the decades or focus on a specific style and try to figure it out before moving on. Otherwise you got classic punk from the UK, the same from the US (already completely different), you got crust punk, hardcore punk, fun punk, pop punk, art punk, folk-punk, gothic punk, oi! punk, punkabilly, electro punk, horror punk, garage punk, ska-punk and the list goes on and on...
We are the Road Crew is essential.
Gotta check out the Bill McClintock mash-up of this and Bob Marley, it's live versions and sounds SO...DAMN...GOOD, pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yup Overkill is a MUST
thats how a snare drum should sound ....not all fat and taking up space in a mix ! Very natural - love it !
Motorhead were pure Rock 'N' Roll, with the speed & power of a runaway freight train! Rest in Power to Fast Eddie, Philthy Animal, and, the almighty God of Rock, Lemmy.
My favorite motorhead song THANK YOU🤘🤘
Such a good song. Pleased to see you guys liked it.
There's a phenomenal mix on Bill McClintock's channel where he mixed this song with Exodus by Bob Marley. For ALL the music lovers reading this go check that out. It's really a song you didn't know you needed.
You mentioned the guitar but know this -Lemmy's bass sound was that of a fat distorted rhythm guitar. Listen now with fresh ears! Luv the channel guys!
"Killed By Death" is one of my faves, great pick for a second Motörhead experience. Everyone will be putting the usual, expected suggestions out so I'll offer a few more left-field options that may broaden your image of Lemmy & his crew: "Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me" and "Lost in the Ozone" from Bastards, "Joy of Labour" from Snake Bite Love or "I Ain't No Nice Guy" from March ör Die.
So nice seeing you going back to Motorhead.
Next :
Rock n Roll.
Overkill.
Chase is better than the catch.
Get into damage case from them, quality
If you think you are too old to rock 'n roll, then you are. - Lemmy ...try "The Hammer" or "Overkill"
Oh, and definitely check out "Stay Clean" by them, amazing track
Alright L.I.V. I've never made a comment on a UA-cam video ever if that counts for anything. Been watching ya's since hallowed be thy name reaction. Motorhead - Just 'cos ya got the power (the live version they did it's got over a million views you'll find it) The writing is brilliant. Don't let me down and it won't let you down, guaranteed.
So glad you reacted to this song. It's an absolute timeless hit. Bravo!
No Class, The Hammer, Capricorn, Orgasmatron... oh also, I think you guys should do a song from 1916 which is probably Motorhead at their most polished, like I'm So Bad Baby I Don't Care, Going to Brazil or Love Me Forever
I Don't Believe A Word - Best Motorhead song IMO.
According to the lyrics ...Lemmy is a "Bundle of Joy".... Classic!
thats a 3 peice band folks - wall of sound from 3 guys. Motorhead is just raw blazing rock and roll
Lemmy could sit and talk to anyone about anything as long as he had his cigarettes and his Jack and Coke... The only thing that would interrupt would be going on stage to rock out... True rock legend...
Lemmy was the Rock 'N' Roll Overlord! I love him & Motörhead and miss him dearly, his music genuinely saved my life! R.I.P. Ian Lemmy Kilmister, Philthy Animal Taylor & Fast Eddie Clarke! ♠️☠️👊🏼🙏🏼💓
Please react to:
Overkill,
I Don't Believe A word,
Rock 'N' Roll,
Born To Raise Hell,
Whorehouse Blues,
God Was Never In Your Side,
Tear Ya Down,
Too Good To Be True,
Just 'Cause You Got The Power,
I Won't Pay Your Price,
Damage Case,
Too Late Too Late,
Listen To Your Heart,
Ain't No Nice Guy,
All For You,
Don't Waste Your Time,
Out Of The Sun,
Dead And Gone,
One More Fucking Time...
NO ONE perfectly personified rock and roll like Motorhead. If rock and roll had a face, it would be Lemmy's.
Was fortunate enough to see them in a bar, The Garage, in Raastad, W. Germany in 1989. Nothing short of brilliant.
To know how Lemmy was, you may watch his funeral and what the people there said about him.. You'll find it on UA-cam i guess..
Great songs from Motörhead are Metropolis, We are the Roadcrew, Orgasmatron, Overkill... they are countless.. And if you want an extra special song from him check out 1916... Those lyrics.. man you will cry your heart out.. Greetings from Bavaria 😊🖖✨
Somebody : "Killed by death? that's stupid."
Scott Ian : "No, you're stupid"
One of my favorite Motorhead song's!!
We're Motörhead, and we're playin' Rock'n'Roll!
Pretty sure the first place I heard this was on Airheads, which Lemmy also made a cameo in.
So much talent and attitude they earned the respect of the punk and metal community more than any other band.
Again, nothing like Motorhead live. It was a level that no one else came near.
Warming- This music is best enjoyed after few beverages if alcoholic nature. Get fucking rowdy y'all!
Rich tAMB
Next Motorhead song?
Funny Farm.....Overkill....Locomotive...Another Perfect Day...We Are The Road Crew....Dancing On Your Grave....Snaggletooth....Dr-Rock
There are so many other great Motorhead songs - you could listen to them for years. My favorite song is a bit of a deep cut - Dogs of War. Can't go wrong with any of Overkill, Bomber, Stone Dead Forever, Iron Fist, Orgasmatron, Eat the Rich, I'm So Bad... And there's so many other!. :)
Oh and their covers are really fun too. Sympathy for the Devil (Rolling Stones), God Save the Queen (Sex Pistols), Breaking the Law (Judas Priest), Heroes (David Bowie), and a bunch of others.
Always appreciate slightly more unexpected suggestions, "Dogs of War" is a great one and "Snake Bite Love" feels like such an underappreciated album.
I know I keep harping on about this one track, but you HAVE to do "Overkill" by Motorhead. "Philthy" Phil Taylor's double bass drum started a whole genre of Killer drum beats for metal. (Also, my favourite Motorhead track ever)
Merry Motorhead christmas to you guys!! we love ya
My favourite Motorhead track, great choice fellas. 👍
Straight ahead & nothing fancy rock n roll.
one of their best songs, a classic
Lemmy used to start his shows sayi g "We are Motorhead, and we play rock and roll!" He considered them a rock band. Have you heard of the Dave Grohl project called "Probot"? He wrote a series of metal songs and invited some of his favorites to perform on the album with him. He did one with Lemmy called "Shake Your Blood". Good stuff!
It would be interesting to do a Mickey Dee era (the drummer from 1992 till the end) song. "I Am the Sword", "Sacrifice", "God Was Never on Your Side" would be my first picks.
Iron fist and overkill are two that immediately jump to mind
I'm So Bad Baby I Don't Care favorite Motorhead song.
I ain't actually that much of a Motorhead fan, but I've always loved this song.
