It’s neat that it’s a house museum, not of a manor or chic townhouse, but a tenement.

Thank you for bringing the immigrant stories into life and keeping their inspirational stories, their history and their contributions to our beloved USA.

@@OursonAaron302 The best museum visit ever. Totally immersive and fascinating. I did the one from 1870 something with the Irish resident family. I could have stayed chatting with the tour guide for hours! Would love to do each tour they offer. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I'm not usually interested in many museums outside of my own area... But I'd love to see this one. To stand in a home where people worked lived and raised their families... What a wonderful way to learn of this countries history.

The courageous people that came here to seek a better life really is what America is about. When I saw the book called " I learn to Write" ..I got emotional. It really tugged at my heart....their hard work and struggles.

Wait, she’s from New Jersey, and now lives on Long Island, yet she’s a “lifelong New Yorker”? A lifelong “New Yorker” is someone who was born in the city and grew up in the city, and still lives in the city (one of the five boroughs).

How in the world are they going to portray a tenement with plenty of shoulder room, and lots of food? Conditions in most tenements were abhorrent. Sickness was common.

Those proud immigrants sought to enter a land of opportunity through the proper channels, not illegally enter what's now perceived to be the land of a free ride. Big difference.

The immigrant people that lived in these tenements reflect a better life than people born in America at the time who lived in the country or poor states.
