Hi Martin, hi from England:) Thanks for the kind compliment, I'll put some more videos up in 2023 but if you like this stuff then get yourself onto the ukcallook register on FACEBOOK and also make sure you get the feb issue of volksworld out on the 6th of January as another car I've been helping witbbis un it and a mention of the club also 😀
Very nice! My brother has a 1970 with a 1914cc, dell'orto 40's and a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember but only has around 110bhp. That is a hoot to drive on the streets and surprises people at its speed off the lights but I can't imagine what yours would be like with over double the power.
love it reminds me of my oval which i ran a the pod in the 90s great times we had ,where do all the "w" vented deck lids come from? they were a rare item back in my day
Love your '56; "luck" had little if anything to do with but I respect tour attempt at being a humble man 😁 DO NOT ever sell your car unless you need a brain transplant...are you with me so far? .....and you do realize you're living the "American Dream", right? No shame I tell ya'! Just messin' with you my friend. Beautiful car, anyone in their right mind would be proud to own and drive it. Seriously, try to hold on to it if possible. Sure they're rising in value $$, but the true worth of it is in your heart and soul. 💪
Yep, if I was born in a different time in a different country it would be usa in the 60s to be a young man in the late 70s 80s to be partner the bug ins and californian scene happening then lol.
Cool car, you must be so stoked, I appreciate the emmense effort and funding that goes into beautiful cars. Love it’s stance and colour. Could I ask what exhaust system you have. 👏👏👌
Thanks my friend, exhaust is just a 2" merged header with bends welded onto the ends to match the angleflow heads, and then I made a 3" exhaust out of bends I bought from ebay with a magna flow muffler
Thanks for replying Joel. Am currently rebuilding my bug I have had since 1987, and was my first car. Can’t afford a motor like yours yet. So have rebuilt the original 1300. Just love yours, runs ace down the track and sounds an actual beast, because it is.
@@joeljohnson8249 ok.. thx.. I wasn't sure if you were running racemasters on the street or only on the track... Thx for getting back to me.. Have a wonderful New Year...
Nice ride! I bet it's a handful to drive! So the displacement is 88×101.6 in a modified Autolinea case converted to six bolt? What kind of heads are your running? Angleflo?, I seen "2854cc" and automatically assumed it was an autocraft setup. Impressive build! Congrats. I got a 1952 split (zwitter) that I'm about to shoehorn a 2387cc into 😆. It'll be a high C/R race gas engine with 48idas, old school Berg cam, 48x38 superflo heads. Should make some decent power as well, I bet the torque curve is impressive on yours! 👍
Yes you are right, i use Angle flows and tbh they do really well, but this is limited street use as has a 1.34 4the gear so I rarely see over 50mph on a run. Yours sounds a nice build would like to see some pics. I currently have the engine in pieces and am looking for a more suitable cam, maybe fk47 Thanks joel
@@joeljohnson8249 photos of mine can be found in the gallery section of thesamba, search "standard zwitter" and it's the Jupiter Grey one on Racemaster cheater slicks (like the second page in). The engine in it is now being rebuilt from a 2332 to a 2387 which like yours, sees little street use. More of a show car and occasionally a weekend driver. Keep the videos coming! And again very badass VDUB!
@@Jerry-pl8jq I'm.afraid not, this is still such a large amount of work to.do, best way now is to start with an oxyboxer block and machine it from there, but hopenyou have deep pockets😐

Nice build, classic cal look for sure. That's a big motor. You ever get a chance to run it in race trim?
Only ran it like that, in a lighter car it's a 10s motor I'm sure
Bom dia...lindo carro... Saberia me informar qual a medida dos pneus?
Yes
What size rear tires are you running on the street? Gorgeous car...
Thanks Gary, just 145r15 Michelin on the front and 215/65/15 m&h racemasters on the rear

What engine case did you use to make it a 2854cc engine if you don't mind me asking
It's an autolinea aluminium block welded up for the extra material required to bore for the 4" pistons
