What the professor said, is the lesson of a lifetime of anyone. Definitely a golden conversation!
I come back to this video every time I feel like giving up♡
Hello Friends, This piece celebrates the largest watercolor painting I've done to date (24'' x 36'' inches). There's always something exciting about moving into an uncomfortable space, "will I be able to do it? am I ready? will it look like a disaster?" I find more often than not, you often surprise yourself. You make decisions along the way from past data points or mistakes and low and behold, there you are, at the finish line. Whether you create something extraordinary or something that you will remember as lessons in the future, the journey always always is worth it. I like to remind myself, there is a place, a very large place for art created for the process and not the result. There are things I would about this painting should I do it again, but I wouldn't change anything from my first time scaling up so much. That along with the encouraging words from a professor I had for a few months that is now retiring, was enough to push me through. What's some great advice you've heard for your art journey. I'd love to know. ~Coco

Hi Coco. Thanks so much for sharing. It's like if I needed those words. Huggs from Peru. I love the way you ptesent your videos
❤
Lovely, Coco! It appeared you were dipping into a clear medium instead of water near the beginning of your video. Could you tell me what you were using?
😭😭😭 I needed this❤
Hello Coco, I love the vids, can’t always watch them sadly.
See I have an irrational fear (I think), it’s really tough just to start painting, I’m kinda old now (27) but I really wanna learn. Any tips on what things to paint for a beginner? Same question for the community (sorry for the subpar English). Much love y’all
Old? At 27?!? Try 68 lol. Don't wait, just start. Be courageous. Get that blank sheet of paper, paint anything on it. Turn the page, start on the next sheet. Ķeep going. Ignore your fear and perfectionism. Otherwise before you know it you'll be 68 like me (and by then I'll be dead but at least have enjoyed painting) and have done nothing.
Absolutely the best way to start is to just do it! Watercolor tends to be a good medium for beginners because it can very forgiving. Grab a sturdy mixed media sketchbook and go to town!! Try to start with minimal flowers and look at real life references as opposed to other people’s art because when you start all you should be comparing is how much progress your making and what you need to work on. I wanna see any updates you have!! Good luck :)
Awesome color mixing. And painting can you tell me what kind of pencil you use to draw?
Amazing!
thank you. that conversation have deep meaning, i want to start new career as watercolorist but i puzzled how too start it.. i'm 27yo now. can you give me some advice?
