The 'conflation' problem is that Jesus was not a 'refugee' in the same sense we use in our current border politics. Rather, it was more like moving from California to Texas. The Holy Family was still under the Roman empire and never left that over-arching ruling authority.

I understand wanting people to talk about Jesus, but where is the gospel in this. The people in this video do need help, but we can not equate what Christ went through as a baby to what these people are going through to seek safety. Mary and Joseph and Jesus went to another town, well populated by Jews, which God had commanded them to do. I think some of these ads in this campaign are misleading. Our job as Christians is to speak the truth of God’s word with love and respect. We are not to break laws, but we are to respect those in authority over us, God commands that. We are to share the gospel to a lost world.

I grew up in a single family home after my Dad's accident the eldest of 10 children. We had very little (yet, more than a 3rd world nation) & I helped my Mom raise the kids on a shoe string-11 people on $600 a month.
