I actually felt bad for Bouchard. I don't think she has figured out pickleball despite playing the sport for the better part of a year professionally. She looks completely out of sorts.
I don't think she spends much efforts on PB. Consider the PB coaches from "I got to 5.0 in 6 months/1 year/etc." UA-cam channels out there. All of them are former D1-D3 college tennis players. Obviously, Bouchard is much more gifted than pretty much all of these folks. She should be able to get to 5.0 or 6.0 by now if she is wiling to spend the time. But seriously, if you used to be a top and famous player in a major sport, and you were currently living a luxury easy life, would you want to waste hours daily to be a middle tier pro in some obscure sport?
@chubun6631 Genie Bouchard never won a grand slam, and hasn't even come close to being successful pickleball player. A few bigger tennis players have now come in but have had little long term success at the game. Meanwhile the other side of the court has over 100 gold medals in pickleball each. Speculate what you want but proof is in the pudding and so far it's been underwhelming.
My only "speculation" is that she would get to 5 or 6.0 in the time frame if she really tries, and even if she really tries, she would be "a middle tier pro in an obscure sport". Anyway, if you take out all the former college tennis players, there are may be 5 dudes and 2 dudesses left on the other side of the court!
Just about any pro sport player will get better but don’t think Bouchard should be playing in pro events right now cuz she looks to be 3.7……3.9 at best
it's simple. bouchard already had millions, and she took millions from PPA to be signed to a contract, and they cannot get her to focus/practice/improve because she has too much money and doesn't GAF. She flys to aspen to party, she isn't training for anything serious, but it doesn't matter for her. a lot of these other pros you see improving actually need the money.
two insane tennis players that got washed by Pickleball's finest. where are are the tennis players saying that any tennis player can dominate the sport??
Could be that it's a different sport? Wonder why Jack Sock isn't the best player in the world yet? The two sports share similarities but are further apart than they are together in many aspects.
Because Pickleball isn’t easy that’s your answer. She needs practice. I’m sick of this premise that tennis players can simply switch over and dominate.
Because she's only here for the paycheck, just like her tennis career. She isn't working or drilling proper pickleball shots like the 3rd shot drop, dinks, counters, etc.
Watching US Open Tennis these days. Honestly without any disrespect, pickle ball seems child's play in comparison to tennis. Its devoid of thrill, power and stamina needs too.
@@jkgabes What are you smoking? Who are these "best players in tennis" coming into pickleball? The only good player from tennis in pickleball is Jack Sock, and he would be winning more if he got his fitness in order. Genie Bouchard wouldn't even be able to win a Challenger tennis event right now. She retired at a young age because she couldn't focus on her tennis. If Roger Federer came in to play pickleball he would probably be in the top 10 even with his bad back and knees lol.
Pickleball is fun, it has elements of table tennis. It's not worse or better than tennis. They aren't the same. Singles matches in pickleball will give you a more similar feel to a proper tennis match.
It’s easy for any players to be outclassed by Ben and ALW. They’re just on a whole different level.
The flooring sounds raised/different. I wonder if the bounce is what the players are expecting.
ALW and Ben are such a good partner.
ya think?
"What can Genie not do in a racquet sport?" Uhm, win?
what's this, I can see the server and receiver? I like it!
I really route Bouchard. Recovering from a concussion is very difficult.
Bouchard, solid 3.5
where is the lie though
Nah, she's a 10....
You know nothing

Ben Johns and ALW make everyone out of sorts.

what surface is this?? wood ?plaStic? synthetic? weird unusual sound
I think Genie is just figuring out pickleball. She will get better.
Of course

Ben is using nothing but two hander. 🎉

Morar Meadows
Miller Robert Brown Deborah Martin Mark
Susie Curve
Genie has her own pro paddle?
She does. It’s a Versix Vector.
That's an alliteration.
Bouchard needs way more practice or else stick to guest appearances and modeling.
Sounds like a plastic floor😮
She can’t even return a serve that is pretty sad as Ben and ALW aren’t even two of the bigger servers in the game.
bouchard is terrible
Such tiny courts
How could a player of calibre of Genie not play better in pickleball, don't get it
Could be that it's a different sport? Wonder why Jack Sock isn't the best player in the world yet? The two sports share similarities but are further apart than they are together in many aspects.
It's a different sport, different set of skills, different equipment, different sized court, shoud I go on?
Because Pickleball isn’t easy that’s your answer. She needs practice. I’m sick of this premise that tennis players can simply switch over and dominate.
Because she's playing it like tennis, zero soft game, can't win from the baseline in pickleball like tennis

I think you’re right. That’s why some of the best players in tennis struggle when coming into pickleball. Its too easy, so they can’t win
