Pure ice barrier with icejade Ran can take the Deep Sea Donna synchro, but i see few ice barrier players abusing of it. Actually, you can make any lvl 10 boss with anti-target protection. This helps a lot the deck, as one Infinite impermanence/forbidden chalice and other cards shut down Lancea. The only counter i find to it is playing against Centurion/red dragon archfiend, as the banish eff from the boss applies to field, doesnt need to target. The Ice barrier runick variation is so much fun, you can summon lvl 9 crock for draws and organize your hand, also you can make Swordsoul Chengying untargetable, Deep sea Donna + the lvl 3 fusion (before mirror mage effect activation) helps to archieve the lvl 10, unless you already have extenders in the field. Oh, and the most important part: you can play safe without caring about Nibiru, acess to lvl 4 herald is awesome too, just need hexa + lvl 3 fusion or either deep sea diva/mirror mage + lvl 2 fusion. Then you can do your crock synchro without fear. The purpose of the variation is to deckout, not necessaryly finish by life points. Beware that if you run evenly matches copies, if you draw them, you cannot use if in the previous turn you already used runick spells.
