Hi Tone, good video m friend, think I've got most of them in my collection Lol,,I do play them, although not as much as the regular albums, nice one 😊, take care, cheers, Dave
Fun and different video. All the picture disc looked nice. Especially that Silver Beatles one. Great stories with these all too. Looking forward to Macca Madness. I’m dedicating a couple of weeks to 60th anniversary of them coming to the U.S. Will squeeze in the BOTR 50th release somewhere too.
This was a fine, fine video, Tone! These release brought me back to a time where anything with the name Beatles on it was a treasured purchase in the most innocent way. Grabbing releases on the way to and from work, as well as on a lunch break! The McCartney interview is one I still go back to often. At the time, it was such a revelation to get all that info for the first time! The Missus was also very fond of that lp. Knowing that we were 3,000 miles away from each other and many (many) years before meeting each other, yet listening to the same albums is something else I hold fondly. I've had the dutch Beatles Greatest since the mid 70s. Never saw a colored vinyl version before. The hi-hat intro to All My Loving was a mindblower at the time. That was back in the days where I didn't have the knowledge or reference material to know how that could even be possible. Very much looking forward to all that you have in store for us in the coming months. Macca madness, indeed!
Thanks very much Pete, Im glad you enjoyed the video. It's funny how we remember what store we bought certain records in and why. Yes it's amazing how The Beatles connect people from all over the world and boom suddenly they have something in common and can become friends. That's the pop of pop ,music I guess. The version of Beatles greatest that I show here sadly doesnt have the hi-hat intro on All My loving although it does have the whispering intro on I feel Fine. Strange days indeed
You need the official let it be picture disc! Btw my us '78 pepper picture disc has a black sleeve with huge front diecut. Maybe in uk was released in cover you showed.
Hi Tone & my least played Beatles albums are Star Club tapes (Black cover) With The Beatles & I've never played the entire second side of Yellow Submarine! My least played McCartney albums are Wild Life & Pipes of Peace & as for Lennon that's easy the truly awful Sometime In New York City & Yoko's songs on Double Fantasy!! Gone Troppo by George is rarely played & as for poor Ringo I've only got his 1973 album on physical vinyl !! Great content as always....
Thanks Stephen, glad you enjoyed the video. yes some familiar contenders there for least played. Some times mine are least played because I forget about them rather than hate them. Id listen to STINYC long before I got to Two Virgins and I think Yoko's songs on side 1 of Double Fantasy are great. . I think ive played side 2 of Yellow Sub once. probably wont go there again.
One reason I haven't really been too excited with much of the Archives Collections is that the extras are often a bit skimpy. I think that Greatest import has the version of All My Loving with the high-hat intro at least.
I have that same Silver Beatles picture disc with the White Album portraits on it. My grandmother bought that record for me for my 14th birthday in 1985. I either gave it away or sold it and almost 40 years later, I found it again in my local record shop in Vancouver Canada
Hi Tone, great fun. I must admit I often look at my collection and think why did you buy so many copies of Decca, Hamburg, Sheridan! Any vinyl not on standard black always suckers me in! The Mccartney Interview is a good listen. I love my interview vinyls and CDs, John on Hear The Beatles Tell All is on sublime form (I have 3 versions for some reason!!). Like I said great fun mate 👍
Thanks very much Rich, glad you enjoyed the video. Yes the reason we have so many copies of the same material is unfathomable - Beatles Bonkers I call it but more fun than spending money on socks or underpants !
Enjoyed the video very much. It was entertaining. Re: Archive collections, I wish the powers to be would release a couple of alternate takes/ demo albums. I'm really about over buying remixes and Anniversary issues of music I've purchased a few times over 60 years
Thanks very much Charlie glad you enjoyed the video. The Archive editions have been released with some of the demos on the 2 Lp and Cd versions . In most cases this has been all off these that came with the big box sets, but some of the weightier box sets like say Flaming Pie, Flowers, Red Rose Speedway have only has a selection of demos and out takes on the 2 Cd 2 LP versions
Hi Tonny, great discussion in the beginning mate :)!!! The first one is not to bad lol like you were saying. Are you Sirius lol about th Interview Album lol I didn't know about this wow really, look at you doing a video like BB LOL I did enjoy your lovely little chat ☺on each one of the Albums that you did show!!! The lol thing about all that you did show was. I do have all of the vinyl Mate 🤣!! March mmm I do need to get out my Madness Albums for this one LOL right!!! Have a Fab Beatles weekend to cheers mate!!!
hahah nice Brad, glad you enjoyed the video, this was a fun one to do and of course you have all these records. No need for your Madness albums next month (I only have their greatest hits and the first one). Enjoy the rest of the weekend mate and great to have you here as always
Interesting vid Tone, as are all of yours. I go along with all of your choices for hardly ever playing them, but at least 2 of my possessions, I've never played. Ringo's Liverpool 8 on USB bracelet and Paul's Run Devil Run on Minidisc (which I didn't even know about, until I bought the recent Record Collector special, which you made me aware of). Keep them coming. Always a good watch. Have a good weekend.
Thanks very much Steve, glad you enjoyed the video. I quite like Liverpool 8 although there are not that many ringo albums that get many plays here. I didnt know RDR was available on mini disc. I used to have a player for about a year lol - I think maybe until they invented the CDR. Im late in responding but have a great what's left of the weekend mate
Hey Beatle Tone, Great video I always like to see vinyl I don’t have I have a picture disk and your right they don’t always sound good but they look neat. I have seen the McCartney interview lp but have never bought it. At least not yet Thanks for sharing take care.
Thanks very much Joseph glad you enjoyed the video. The McCartney Interview isnt that hard to find these days and not too expensive if you're looking for it
Interesting video Tone. I have a similar section of 'od-bod' Beatles LP's (Decca audtion, Hamburg Era, Star Club, interviews, bootlegs etc). I have a Japanese pressing of the Decca audition plus a CD which actually includes the 3 usually missing original songs. I hear you as I tend not to play them either. You might not be aware but in 1980 Phonogram/Polygram Records (later Universal) here in Australia released a budget priced LP series called "Rock Legends" which included reissued material of some of their then-contracted artists such as Cream, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Slade, John Mayall, Easybeats & oddly the Dave Clark Five among many others. The Beatles' Hamburg era stuff obviously fell under that banner too. I also have a couple of those late 1970's picture discs though mine are the US Capitol pressings. Thanks for sharing. Take care mate. Cheers. 👍👍
Thanks very much Peter, glad you enjoyed the video. I didnt know that all those artists had albums in the series although I do have the Cream one but its a German pressing so im guessing that the Australian series mirrored the German series
I can relate to this video. t haven’t played my Silver Beatles albums in decades. Same with “The McCartney Interview” As for that gold vinyl “Greatest Hits”….. Did you notice if it features the true stereo version of “I Feel Fine” with the whispering on the intro or “All My Loving” with the hi-hat intro? There’s also the early true stereo mix of “I Want To Hold Your Hand” but, I think that might just be on the German pressing……which also features a unique made-by-Odeon-Germany fake stereo mix of “I Feel Fine”.
Hi Tone, just to say if I remember correctly the McCartney Interview album was an American radio promo and was so sort after that it was released along with the Bowie album BOW 1 .It was very similar to Paul's Russian album with the Red or Green sleeve. Great video as ever Tone Cheers Paul
You got me this time Tone, I’ve never heard of any of these albums. And honestly I have no desire to. 🫤 Very interesting video though. Hope all is well! ✌️
I used to pop into the Record Exchange in Notting Hill whilst waiting for the coach to Oxford to visit my girlfriend in the mid 90s. Hahahaha i wonder if we ever caught the same coach?! Great video.
Interesting video Tone, I often wonder how many vinyl albums are actually out there, original, half speed, archive etc plus rareties like the ones you just showed. Good discography in the recent Record Collector you reviewed, busy ticking off the ones I have. Takes me back to when I was a kid with football stickers, got, got, havent, need, desperate 😂 Intrigued to what your next video has in store n deffo looking forward to next Friday when hopefully we have all had deliveries of BOTR 50th. Keep well til then.
Thanks very much Steve, glad you enjoyed the video. Yes you're right , so many variations of Beatles albums out there from all over the world. Probably a fruitless task trying to get them all or certainly an endless task - football stickers on the other hand much easier. Remember collecting them when I was a kid - great fun . Thanks for a great comment
Hi Tone I bought the original Dutch Beatles Greatest back in the days over here in the Netherlands. At that time, I played it quite often. It's black vinyl, and it does sound okay. Take care.
I think you're underplaying the black vinyl copy. Like most Dutch pressings, it sounds pretty great and much better than most records pressed anywhere else. One of my best sounding Beatles records is a Dutch pressing of Love Songs.
Tone, we clearly are a similiar age as i bought all the same records at the time they came out. I think the one difference is my Tug of war bootleg Is called War and peace by Apollo C Vermouth and it has a slightly different track listing. Like you i may go back and play some of these forgotten gems asyour video has rekindled an interest
Hi Tone, this podcast really did make me laugh out loud as I had all the albums you mentioned except the Dutch one. As you rightly say about them not really good and they were that good I sold them years ago. But silly me i have The Silver Beatles on CD and don't play it either 😂 😂😂😂 Looking forward to your next broadcast!!!
I remember buying The Complete Silver Beatles from good old Woolies (Remember those days when Woolworths, Boots the chemist and WH Smith all had record dept's?) for £1.50, and I must admit I haven't played that in decades. The McCartney Interview came out around the time of my birthday and my Fab Big Sister got it me for my birthday. It is a fascinating listen, but again I haven't played it decades, must dig it out and give it a spin. The one I don't really play much is Live At The Star Club 1962, again it's years since I've heard it, wasn't that impressed when I originally bought it, let's hope that Peter Jackson can work his MAL Magic with it. I'd never seen that copy of the Tony Sheridan album before, but then again there's been so many iterations of that album, there's too many to keep up with, in fact I think it was given away free with a sunday newspaper on CD back in the 90's... I don't really play Beatles Comps either, but they are nice to have in my collection, but I am still listening to last years Red and Blue remixes. Looking forward to your BOTR unboxing vid and all the fun that the Macca month of feb is gonna be. Take care my friend and have a fab gear weekend...
Thanks very much Terry glad you enjoyed the video. I also hadn't played Star club for decades until all the talk about PJ and I gave it a spin. I was actually surprised that it didnt sound as bad as I'd remmebered but that album is definitely a candidate for least played . Yes Boots , Woolies and WH Smiths - I do remember their record departments and often as a kid would get a Smiths token for birthday gifts which I always spent on records rather than something sensible. Im late responding but enjoy what's left of the weekend yourself my friend
Hi Tone. Enjoyed the video on some of the more obscure items. I have a black vinyl copy of the Dutch issued Beatles Greatest. Its a strange compilation and I've always felt the tracks dont flow too well.....if you know what I mean. A difficult listen but a nice one to have all the same. Lookin forward to Feb Macca Madness.
Thanks very much Jim, glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah The Beatles Greatest is an odd one - mostly because the songs are far from their greatest and like you say it doesnt flow very well but Im glad to have picked up something that I have never owned pretty cheap. Lots of fun to come and thanks as always for your comment
Great video Tone, thanks for that. I think, everyone who is collecting CDs or records has a bunch of albums that are bought but not often heard. Or never... Maybe I should go through my collection either. The Beatles Greatest was first released in Germany in 1964 or 1965 (?). German Odeon used to release a lot of strange compilations at this time. In Germany and the Netherlands you can find it quite often. The golden one was only available in the Netherlands (or as an import of course). On ebay, this may be the album you could find second most after the red and blue. I don't own it and I think I don't need it. But when I get my hands on a cheap gold one, who knows... BR from Munich
Thanks very much Armin, glad you enjoyed the video. 'greatest' is definitely not essential and not even their 'greatest'. I couldnt walk away at such a cheap price for something that I havent got and dont see very often here in the Uk. Im a sucker !
The Tony Sheridan album I got on cassette in 1986 as "The Savage Young Beatles." I think I got another version on vinyl or cd that lays out which songs the actual Beatles play on. "Take Out Some Insurance On Me baby" really got me wondering just what the hell I'd bought. "Cry For a Shadow" is really pretty groovy however.
Tone! Another great addition to your Canon. I have all those but the Beatles Greatest on gold vinyl. There are two official versions of that LP on gold vinyl, the first version has the original catalog number OMHS 3001 (from 1975) and the later pressing has catalog number 5C 062-04207 (1978). There are also purple, orange & yellow translucent vinyl versions, all issued in '78. I have the 1975 black vinyl version myself. Lastly, the McCartney Interview lp, was issued here in the States as a single disc, identical to the UK version and as a double lp promo version. The promos tracks are identical, the second lp is just banded for radio airplay and some version came with a script. Neither version is at all rare and I have not listened to mine since about 1980. Great video, my Dutch friend 😂
Thanks very much Richard, glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for all the info on The Beatles Greatest. mine is the 04027 so 1978. Also great info on the McCartney Interview thank you
Interesting theme. I certainly have the Silver Beatles Decca album you showed and one or two of the Beat Brothers releases. I must have a look through and check what seldom gets played. One that springs to mind is a CD that came with a book and features all of the different drummers that played with the band. I need to find that one. Must have been a bit of a licencing nightmare. Or perhaps it was a not too legitimate release.
The book I referred to eas Finding The Fourth Beatle by David Bedford and Garry Popper. It came with two CDs featuring the various drummers who played with the band and also had an additional jewel case that the CDs could be stored in if you wished to separate them from the book. I think the CDs have all 15 Decca session recordings along with a variety of other tracks both by the Beatles and bands featuring various drummers. I must read the book too. I have had it for around 5 years and have only browsed it so far!. It is nicely produced with a wealth of photos and illustrations.
My first cassette version of John Lennon's "John Lennon Collection" was found at a Walmart on the Odeon label. Very inexpensive for a tape back then.Probably released 1981 or so I'd guess. Prior to "Milk & Honey." I have really enjoyed this presentation. Thanx, my friend. Until the next one - take care.
Hi,thanks for interesting video .Yes i also bought Silver Beatles pic disc & others you showed as well as USA Sgt. Pepper Pic Disc which has Drum only on side 2 which looks pretty good .!! Havent ever seen McCartney Bootleg--looks worthwhile.Sorry but i love STinNYC & enjoy Yokos songs .Very disappointed no Anniv.edition yet. Thanks again for video.
Thanks very much Kevin glad you enjoyed the video. The McCartney boot is decent for sure. STINYC has its moments for sure and Im also disappointed that they swept the Ultimate Mixes of it under the carpet
In terms of solo Beatles stuff, I have a Ringo/All Starr Band collection, I have no solo CD’s from Lennon, I have Cloud Nine by Harrison, and Flowers in the Dirt, Wings Greatest, Band on the Run, Ram and the live set McCartney did in New York. That’s it. I search for solo stuff, but it’s easier said than done.
Most Beatles solo albums should be fairly eady to find . More difficult to findcthese albums on vinyl but ebay is good for that amazon is great for CDs . Happy searching
Good point about The Archive Collection Tone. Yes, they look nice next to each other on the shelf and yes, I'd certainly buy them but they're not the last word on the subject. BTW - commuting from Oxford to the smoke on a bus everyday sounds like the opposite of fun, especially on the short, dark days of winter. PS - If alliteration is important to you, postpone your Macca Madness to March and use next month as Freddie & The Dreamers Forced Fun February (he's got short shorts apparently).
Hi Rob, yes the Archives are variable in content for sure - the latter ones being much better than the early ones generally - but I still rather have them than not but like you say, not the final word. Commuting from Oxford to London and back on a coach in the rush hour was like hell on earth. Took hours. Had 2 young kids at the time so couldnt afford to get the train. Much as you know how I appreciate your contribution to the channel, you'll understand if I put the Freddie and dreamers idea on the back burner for now 😂
Hi Tone! Good to see you. American releases/imports/bootlegs below that I bought and listened to infrequently or once! also the obligatory what I paid for each. I have this book. I kept records of the price of my records. rather silly, eh? 1. Hear the Beatles tell all - 1979 reissue $10 USA. Why did I buy this in 1979? no clue. it sucked. I eventually got a used 1964 original in 1982....Why did I buy this original for $60 USA? complete the collection. dope. a truly awful "lets get the publics ca$h" in 1979/80 let alone 1964 when the original was released. 2. The Beatles in Italy - I swear I wasted time and effort looking for this between 1976-81 thinking "This is the live album John talked about and was mentioned in the book all together now as being a live concert recorded off radio, gotta find"...a hard earned $30 USA wasted for an import of songs I already had! no live, no nothing. no happy! 3. The Beatles Story 1964 - important in 1964 perhaps, redundant and useless for me in 1977 for $8.99 USA when I bought it to "complete my collection up till Love Songs." A double album with a double album price. a snippet of Twist and shout from Hollywood bowl...and no more music. blah blah blah 4. 1974's Toot n a Snore - bootleg - bought 1981 for $35 USA. garbage, pure garbage. it was a hard listen rivaling Jim Morrison/Jimi Hendrix version of Tomorrow never knows (I mean really Morrison, what an idiot!) probably not one thing I need to hear again. and thats sad since it was (as far as we know) the last time John & Paul nerk twinned with a cavalcade of good players, all playing awful! Thanks Tone, have a good one!
RUSS !!!! Where have you been? I sent you a message before xmas was concerned. hope you are ok mate. You wont be the first person to pursue the beatles in Italy thinking it was a live album for sure. Funnily enough The Beatles Story was one of the first beatles albums I bought and was supposed to be part of this video but somehow the section I recorded about it got missed out of the edit so I will save it for another video sometime. The less said about a Toot and a Snore (is there a more aptly named record ?) the better. Good to see you mate
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel Hey Tone. yea it's been a wicked 7 months. Covid-23.1444444444. I ate a lot of pie with this version of covid. Then I got a new job. Therefore, could not dedicate time effort into this fine channel of sharing Beatles info. Job = taking care of mentally challenged/disadvantaged individuals. Pay is decent and hours are perfect for old man me (3pm till 11pm) I sometimes do 16 hours (3pm till 7am) and lord knows I then become rip van tinkle, sleeping and... I always try to go for the "eclectic" choices like above, that most will not choose hehehe. However, if I must "play the game properly" lol 1. Give my regards to broadstreet (sorry Mr Broadstreet!) - ugh. why Mccartney O why? Why destroy (I know some like the versions) Beatles songs for your little fantasy movie? I sat in a theater in October 1984 and can never get those 2 hours back. as far as the album. Not such a bad boy, No Values & No more lonely nights...3 good songs for me and that is poor value(s) imho
Well shucks, my Silver Beatles vinyl only came with 8 tracks on it. Had I known then there were 15 in total, I'd have felt ripped off! But a hundred years later I got the tracks complete and hardly listen to them regularly. They're nice to hear in a historical sense, but they're hardly polished and ready to rip up your stereo. Really liking this. just had to comment as I go along.
No problem comment as you see fit. Yeah there are so many variations of those Decca tapes not surprised you picked up one with alternative track listing. But yes I agree historically, these are important, musically, not so much
Hi Tone, you brought some memories back with your latest video . I seemed to be buying an interview disc, picture disc, Decca set or yes, even a Star Club album each week because there was nothing else to buy! Cheers for the video Tone.
@@eddiemiles7676 Hi Eddie, yes know what you mean, those albums seemed to be everywhere in various guises. Glad we have other stuff to get stuck into these days that people can shout cash grab at 😂
I just have the mainline stuff for the most part, so I guess least-played Beatles would be The Anthology. I own only Paul solo stuff except for a Ringo and a George greatest hits. Least-played from Paul is probably the Paul Is Live cd from 1994 or thereabouts. As far as studio stuff, it would probably be Broadstreet, although I love No More Lonely Nights, No Values, Not Such a Bad Boy and Goodnight Princess.
I would say broad street is one of my least played Paul albums too though I played it a few months ago and thought it was much better than I remembered
If one only had the Decca audition to go by, one could be forgiven for thinking George was the best singer in the group. No doubt Brian was trying to emphasize the group dynamic and George did sing a lot in the clubs before the Lennon-McCartney machine took off. Hard to believe it’s the same John who confidently belted Ain’t She Sweet the year before or who a year later would give one of rock and roll’s greatest vocal performances on Twist And Shout. And compare Paul’s vocals on the Decca Till There Was You to the one on With The Beatles. Guess it was nerves and possibly a bad hangover on that New Year’s Day.
I hadn't seen that Tug Of War bootleg before, but the others I own in one format or another. Yeah, the picture discs sound terrible. I have the US pressing of the McCartney Interview album, and I feel kind of bad admitting that I've never listened to it even once. Aside from that, my least played Beatles LP is that Live at the Star Club double LP, which I'm sure I haven't played in 40 years.
I also hadn't played the Star Club album for decades until recently when there was the talk of PJ buying the tapes. I gave it a spin and thought it sounded much better than I remembered it. The Tug of War boot is a goodun . The interview is worth a listen but of course like any interview it hasnt aged well.
Geo Stu Pete Paul John s b not much really out there they were only a 5 piece .twice first mark and last mk with Yoko yep she was in the band on the albums ..an Aussie white album oh
Beatley, how are you my friend, the silver Beatles I don’t have these , didn’t appeal to me,, wasn’t ones that I wanted, I haven’t played Star Club in a long time, Johnny and the Moondogs,, I’ll have to listen to them, I have bootlegs I listen to , Beatley, they are good and they are special to me, back I researched and went to a lot of record shows to find and purchase, good old days, not too many record shows now, but I’m always looking, Great Video My Friend, TakeCare, BeSafe, Steve
Im good thank you Steve and I hope you are too my friend. I actually went to a record fair this morning bought a copy of Lodger by Bowie for £10. I played Star club recently and thought it sounded better than I remembered but hadn't played it for decades . Have a great weekend Steve
Hey tone I play every beatle music I have gets very hard to keep track have many cds over 300 including all boots and thats not counting solos the only one that I really dont play is sometime in NYC
Great video Tone. I take it the Dutch pressings are common in the UK? You are right, giving George more tracks then John and Paul was odd, not taking anything away from George.
Thanks very much Ken, glad you enjoyed the video. I dont think Dutch pressings are particularly common here, I just stumbled across that one in a second hand record store near me but haven't seen any other Dutch pressings . I guess it's more common for them to find their way to the Uk than the US though.
Hi Tone, good video m friend, think I've got most of them in my collection Lol,,I do play them, although not as much as the regular albums, nice one 😊, take care, cheers, Dave
Cheers Dave , glad you enjoyed it . Have a great weekend matey

Same with “The McCartney Interview”
As for that gold vinyl “Greatest Hits”…..
It has the whispering I Feel Fine but not the hi-hat into on All my loving
Hi Tone, just to say if I remember correctly the McCartney Interview album was an American radio promo and was so sort after that it was released along with the Bowie album BOW 1 .It was very similar to Paul's Russian album with the Red or Green sleeve.
Great video as ever Tone
Cheers Paul
Thanks very much Paul, glad you enjoyed the video. Im not familiar with the Bowie interview album so cant confirm but I suspect you're right
You got me this time Tone, I’ve never heard of any of these albums. And honestly I have no desire to. 🫤 Very interesting video though. Hope all is well! ✌️
Glad you enjoyed the video Julia - no you dont need to let any of these records trouble your collection for sure 😂
I used to pop into the Record Exchange in Notting Hill whilst waiting for the coach to Oxford to visit my girlfriend in the mid 90s. Hahahaha i wonder if we ever caught the same coach?! Great video.
Pretty good chance Steve. I was on it twice a day. Oxford tube or city link?
Oxford tube! I sometimes travelled twice a day. @@beatleytonesbeatleschannel
Interesting video Tone, I often wonder how many vinyl albums are actually out there, original, half speed, archive etc plus rareties like the ones you just showed.
Good discography in the recent Record Collector you reviewed, busy ticking off the ones I have.
Takes me back to when I was a kid with football stickers, got, got, havent, need, desperate 😂
Intrigued to what your next video has in store n deffo looking forward to next Friday when hopefully we have all had deliveries of BOTR 50th.
Hi Tone
I bought the original Dutch Beatles Greatest back in the days over here in the Netherlands.
I was hoping you would comment on this PeKe . I guessed you would probably have a variation of this
Tone, we clearly are a similiar age as i bought all the same records at the time they came out. I think the one difference is my Tug of war bootleg Is called War and peace by Apollo C Vermouth and it has a slightly different track listing. Like you i may go back and play some of these forgotten gems asyour video has rekindled an interest
yes it sounds like the Tug of War demos is similar to yours David, probably the most interesting of the records shown in this video
Great video as always mate.
Thanks very much James. Glad you enjoyed the video
Thanks very much Maurice . Glad you enjoyed the video my friend
Who knows, maybe if they do their magic on the Star Club tapes it may actually be listenable.
Loved Woolworths.....if you dug enough (I live in the US), you could find some great stuff.
@@DEE-o4v indeed
Yes I remember the album originally as the Savage young Beatles (wild title) too. Agree Cry for A Shadow is great
@@davehealey2397 Definitely never heard of that book/CD Dave. Thanks for the info
Yes the Collection was 1981 so before Milk and Honey, youre right. Thanks very much, im glad you enjoyed the video
2. The Beatles in Italy - I swear I wasted time and effort looking for this between 1976-81 thinking "This is the live album John talked about and was mentioned in the book all together now as being a live concert recorded off radio, gotta find"...a hard earned $30 USA wasted for an import of songs I already had! no live, no nothing. no happy!
3. The Beatles Story 1964 - important in 1964 perhaps, redundant and useless for me in 1977 for $8.99 USA when I bought it to "complete my collection up till Love Songs." A double album with a double album price. a snippet of Twist and shout from Hollywood bowl...and no more music. blah blah blah
4. 1974's Toot n a Snore - bootleg - bought 1981 for $35 USA. garbage, pure garbage. it was a hard listen rivaling Jim Morrison/Jimi Hendrix version of Tomorrow never knows (I mean really Morrison, what an idiot!) probably not one thing I need to hear again. and thats sad since it was (as far as we know) the last time John & Paul nerk twinned with a cavalcade of good players, all playing awful!
However, if I must "play the game properly" lol
But yes I agree historically, these are important, musically, not so much
I take pride in being the first to say another great video Tone. Always a pleasure 👍
The interview album was only officially on sale for 1 day!
Thanks very much Harry. Glad you enjoyed the video
February Macca Frenzy!!
Perfect !
I don't play the solo stuff anymore. I'll listen to a handful of songs.
I think there were so many George numbers because John had a bad throat. that morning.
Good point Duncan
I just got done playing every ringo albums i think his albums are awesome i dont know why people knock him his music is fun .
Gteat stuff. For me its a bit too samey
That Silver Beatles pic disc is mastered way too fast I recall.
will let you know when Ive played it lol
Yes they definitely weren't at their best that day Michael , you make good points here
My least played are obvious, 2 virgins, Life with the lions and the wedding album, plus electronic sounds
mine too but I thought they were too obvious for this video 😂
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel probably but they are honestly the only ones I never play. Some Time in New York city might be the least of the others
Awesome Beatles stuff! Just having SILVER BEATLES on the albums even if they are raw is awesome.. )^_-)/
Thanks very much
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel You're welcome BeatleyTone.. )^_-)/
The Beatles with Tony Sheridan LPs were around in the '60s. Also, never touch the grooves on LPs.
Yes they were
Geo Stu Pete Paul John s b not much really out there they were only a 5 piece .twice first mark and last mk with Yoko yep she was in the band on the albums ..an Aussie white album oh
Hey Beatles Tone, Why don’t you pick up the guitar you have and strum a few of your favorite Beatles songs???
If you knew how badly i play guitar you wouldn’t ask😂 maybe one day
Beatley, how are you my friend, the silver Beatles I don’t have these , didn’t appeal to me,, wasn’t ones that I wanted, I haven’t played Star Club in a long time, Johnny and the Moondogs,, I’ll have to listen to them, I have bootlegs I listen to , Beatley, they are good and they are special to me, back I researched and went to a lot of record shows to find and purchase, good old days, not too many record shows now, but I’m always looking, Great Video My Friend, TakeCare, BeSafe, Steve
Sounds like you have a fab collection Lousis
Great video Tone. I take it the Dutch pressings are common in the UK? You are right, giving George more tracks then John and Paul was odd, not taking anything away from George.
Thanks very much Ken, glad you enjoyed the video. I dont think Dutch pressings are particularly common here, I just stumbled across that one in a second hand record store near me but haven't seen any other Dutch pressings . I guess it's more common for them to find their way to the Uk than the US though.
