The way I’ve been trying to learn to build in planet zoo is by making a sandbox zoo for ‘freebuilding’ so I just build random habitats or buildings separately to focus on detailing and such instead of stressing about layouts, and doing layouts at another point
I would honestly LOVE to see you recreate the tiger bridge, it’s like my favorite part of Rotterdam Zoo and I think it would be a cool challenge to take on!
very true and frightening. There's a story of a man who was attacked by a hyena and the details were scary. He said the hyena was dragging him by his arm, the hyena broke his arm by biting it and the skin didn't break! That's how strong their bite force is.
@@youremybestfriend8468 oh yes. They’re very, very smart too. Two hyenas solved a puzzle at a zoo one time. The are so extraordinary and they’re one of my favorite animals.
Years ago I had an internship period at the Amsterdam Zoo. From what I remember over there, the backstage area's I've seen are pretty plain. They do not have much decoration, only the necessary cleaning supplies and the space for them and bits and bobs that might be needed for the animals (such as enrichment items). In the case of the Amsterdam Zoo, the backstage area's are not big. Partly because obviously the city was eventually build around the zoo and they couldn't expand, but also because it mainly is the area where the animals sleep. They differ in size according to the animals they house . In the same idea, they have basic enrichment inside. Otherwise, they are very basic, mostly because it needs to be easy and fast to clean as well. A zookeepers day is very busy, despite what people think. There is a reason you don't see them overly often around the park ^^ I looked through my pictures of that internship for you, sadly there aren't many that show the backstage area (I was more interested in taking pictures of the animals haha) and the ones that do, only have tiny snippets. However, I do have some video's on feeding the big cats behind the scenes, which shows some of the backstage area of the big cats. Even though this is years ago, I am not allowed to share them in public. But should you be interested, let me know and we could work something out :)
This build reminds me of a zoo I saw once... I couldn't say where, except that it's somewhere in the U.S. But they had three habitats all arranged almost in a circle around a central building. And each habitat housed a different big cat. (Tiger, lion, and...maybe a leopard?) But what I remember about it is that their way of enriching the cats was to rotate them through the habitats--so every few weeks or so they would move into the habitat next door, which had a different layout and set of enrichment items, and it was their way of keeping the cats from getting bored with their surroundings. And there was the added benefit that the cats were very curious about the scents left behind by the other species... Anyway, something about this build reminded me of that set-up. It looks great, by the way. Both beautiful and practical.
I immediatly saw it was the tiger/lion habitat from Blijdorp! My dads sunglasses should still lie on the bottom of the water. My brother (now 28 years old) pushed it from my dads face when he was superlittle and sitting on his shoulders! Memories 🦁🐯
I would love to see the elephant habitat of the Buenos Aires zoo in your zoo. There are plenty of pictures and videos of it on the Internet and it would totally fit the style of the zoo. For instance, the elephant's shelter had a Victorian architecture style that's could be built with the classical theme (actually I tried to 😅) Keep up with the good work!
So beautiful. Perhaps I'm gonna give those nice buildings with the indoors for animals a try as well. They never look good for me so I never tried combining them with habitats
How love how kind and helpful and positive you are toward your followers. The encouragement you give others is very inspiring and admirable. I love your videos and your builds are INCREDIBLE!!
This is a great homage to the real building. I like this site even more than the other side. I still remember seeing the tigers there, I've visited the zoo since I was little so the first time must have been in the early 90's. I also remember seeing the building from the inside once or twice, but the indoor enclosures were not usually accessible to visitors. I believe the one time it was, it was because of a birth of the Asiatic lions (people were only allowed in the first 10 meters of the building, the lions were in the back to give them privacy). The indoor enclosures were memorably small, probably a part of the reasons the enclosure was eventually considered outdated and not up to modern standards anymore.
I think the central bridge from Blijdorp would fit this zoo perfectly. Either with the polar bears like a long time ago or with the lemurs and tigers on the side. I understand that you don't want to just do Blijdorp but I recommend having a look at it for inspiration because it's beautiful.
Around the time that Jurassic Park (1993) came out in the cinema, there were electronic dinosaurs in the Rivera Hal. In the eyes of six year old the T-Rex scared the crap out of me.
DeLadysigner Yep I am serious, the dinosaurs were the reason why we went to Blijdorp. Looking back the dinosaurs in the Rivera Hal were actually bad. Funny enough I did’nt get nightmares from Jurassic Park but my brother did, it was the second movie I saw in the cinema. During the first scene with the T-Rex I hide under my mothers coat 😂.

Finally I had the time to watch a video when it's released ^^ I really like the whole building, it looks really nice and is something completely different in comparison to lots of other builts we saw. Both exhibits are good with their own special touch like the cave for the hyenas and most importantly for me, the exhibits proofs that you don't have to build ginormous exhibits too make them look good, these exhibits can also be very beautiful like this 2 exhibits here, which are looking very nice. And no we don't accept the missing 10 square meters Lady ;P All in all a nice building and I look forward to the next built ^^ Thanks for the video Lady as always and I see you in the next one :)
On the interior walls for your predators especially you would have guard fencing (often metal like Neting or plexi glass) to keep people and items from falling in. On the Bonobo side it would be a good call as well but might be made of plexi glass instead of something they can get a grip onto and climb on. Fake sturdy glass is easy to spray clean! Your interior would have a dividing wall in the hall way to keep the animals from seeing each other and causing stress. Also! Remember the importance of isolated cages for all exhibits where they can have an animal go into if they need to sedate them. Often smaller and attached to interior spaces and divided by a sliding door system. If you have access to view a series called The Zoo on animal planet. I would recommend it!!
I'm really amazed by this piece of art!! @@DeLadysigner Thanks for the reply! I can remember that the tigers moved to the bridge somewhere in 2005. Till then they shared the building. Sadly I don't work in any zoo at all xD, my study demands a bit to much time, but I definitely will give it a try to be back in the zoo this summer!!!

Hi! The Predator Building housed tigers and lions untill the early 2000s when the tigers moved out. Then it housed the hyena's for a little while before they also moved out and then finally the (by now Asiatic) lions left. Before the renovation you could only acces the left (lion) wing. I like the fence! I think the hyenas will be fine with seeing the lions, because they live together in the wild. Sometimes they even gang up and steal a lions recently caught food. Maybe the lions are the nervous ones then?
The lion habitat reminds me of how the hippo habitat used to look at the Cleveland Zoo. It's so different now with Elephant Crossing completed. I can't even think where the hippos are.
Thank you so much for your message I just got into this game and use to build a lot in Sims 3 when it was difficult. This game inspires me because Sims has become very simple for building. My current Zoo is very horrible, but I am learning the game and the controls. I find it beautiful and very creative. Much better than Sims. Thank you for your Inspiration.
DeLadysigner lmao yeah heb je het nieuwe verblijf wat je heeft geïnspireerd op deze video al gezien? Met de blauwen palen en netten, het is nu een apen verblijf.
At Denver Zoo, the predator exhibit was designed specifically so that the lions, hyenas, and African wild dogs can all see and smell each other, because in the wild they all live together in the same areas. It is a form of enrichment to see other species. So it’s fine that yours can see and smell each other. Although I think the bonobos would be stressed and nervous to be housed so close to predators on the inside part, since they are prey animals. Love your builds, though, always really well done! Hoping to get this game soon when my new computer arrives!
I really, really like this building. I also like the plain interior, because in real Zoos, they often have to clean everything with water, and having plain floors and walls makes this easier. Just one little critique: Imo, the lion habitat looks really small. From a guest point of view, i would like it, even if the game says its okay. You could think about changing the lions and the bonobo
Just imagine a lion enclosure next to a hyena enclosure with such weak structure to separate them in a real life zoo. It would be a constant fight I suppose 😁😁
Dit........... WAUW!!!!!
The big bridge section used to be where the polar bears were. And at the building you made now you had the tigers and the lions (Blijdorp is one of the few zoos that has Asiatic lions, not African lions). They rearranged a lot of animals, like the tigers and the hyenas and now also the lions to make areas like Africa and Asia. The lions are now located where both Asia and Africa start, probably because most people don't even know theres a difference/that Asiatic lions exist. Really like how it turned out!
They moved many animals through that building-tigers, lions, hyenas....it was temporary building for them, not sure will it be permanent for the baboon's either...but Finally you are back! ♥
O my god delady. This is AWESOME!!!! Ahhh you’re so good at this game and you’re such an inspiration. Im wondering where you get all your inspiration. Do you watch videos of photos. Or do you really visit the zoo’s? Keep on the good work! Greetings me

Buildings like that are the worst for me :D I tried to made a small one, its also in the workshop.. but the details are hard to set.. thats my problem which most of my objects..I have an idea, but its just hard to get the right eye for it... showing videos like your ones are helping a lot :D
You should research the national zoo in Washingtons old elephant house they used to have hippos and pygmy hippos it was amazing and would fit the theme of city zoo 😊 hope you could do something like this it would be cool also nostalgia
Wow your talent is *BOOM* one small segstion maybe swap the hyenas and lions habitat around as the lions one is quite cramped. This is just a suggestion you can disagree:)

OMG I love those habitats they look awesome just like always have you scraped inama zoo? It’s been a while since you’ve uploaded for that series anyway great build as always! 😁
I really think that you need to do a franchise city zoo. Up the challenge but I agree with learning this game. It takes awhile to learn it and the things you can do with that knowledge.

I would be grateful if you do a tutorial on how to make smaller animal enclosures like scorpions and stuff like that.
It would be cool if you would add yellow safety (keep back) lines on the ground in the backstage. You dont want people too close to the lions
But there wont be people 😏 only staff.. and they ofcourse know exactly what distance to keep 😏😄❤
you have give me ideas to decorate my zoo, yours is pretty
I am blown away by how creative you are. Just how many hours do you put into these build.
Too many 🙈
i could listen you for hours! love your voice and videos :) greetings from germany 🇩🇪
Greetings
Have you been to Burger’s Zoo? I would love to see you build the Rainforest area’s! Which is inside a big building with restaurant!
Hello peeps! Don't forget to like the vid.
Cool build Delady! 😊
Hi, every time i see you put out a new video, i'm very excited because you inspire me. I love you and your zoo!
Aaaw thank you so much ❤❤❤
Would you do a medieval theme zoo? Would be cool to see what you do. I am really impressed with your work.
Add food and beverage shops and toilets 😊👍🏻
Coming soon 😄
The lion enclosure reminds me of the pretoria zoo. Only this one is better. Keep it up :)
Recently fell in love with this channel. Just perfect and relaxing, you’ve earned a sub :)
Well, thank you so much and welcome 😊❤
Yes you could go inside the building, there were stairs you could go up and go inside.
Yeah, I did see the stairs on pictures indeed 😄 but I really couldnt remember I ever went inside of the building haha 😄
Dat wilde je ook niet. Stonk er naar leeuwenzeik. Haha
HAHAHA
The interior could use pipes and heating ducts. Plus storage of materials and tools for the keepers.
Make hippo's in the city zoo
Van raven Stijn het klonk Nederlands but I love d habitat
Haha dankjewel 😊
Wow! Great build!
Could you add the fence and walls as individual pieces to the workshop so we can create different shaped buildings with the same style? Looks great!
I will look into it 😘❤
Just imagine a lion enclosure next to a hyena enclosure with such weak structure to separate them in a real life zoo. It would be a constant fight I suppose 😁😁
thanks for sharing, best wishes for u
Dit........... WAUW!!!!!
Never thought of the tool for terraforming, to make tunnels like that! goed bezig! thanks
Greetings me
Maybe a cool new addition would be a Asian Elephant habitat like the old zoo of Emmen Zoo and/or Orangutan habitat from Apenheul.
Didn’t want you making it amazing 😉
oh wow, I love this building! the whole one!
Buildings like that are the worst for me :D I tried to made a small one, its also in the workshop.. but the details are hard to set.. thats my problem which most of my objects..I have an idea, but its just hard to get the right eye for it... showing videos like your ones are helping a lot :D
Always glad to help ❤ and keep practising, you can only get better and better 😍
This is beautiful
Can please Upload all this buildings from the City Zoo in youre workshop please🥰 That would be really nice 👍🏻
The building has too many pieces to make a blueprint unfortunatly 😬
DeLadysigner yes i know it unfortunately :( Or can you Upload only the Habitats :) ?
You should research the national zoo in Washingtons old elephant house they used to have hippos and pygmy hippos it was amazing and would fit the theme of city zoo 😊 hope you could do something like this it would be cool also nostalgia
Fun fact: Blijdorp in english means: Happy Village
Nice builds. Greets
Wow your talent is *BOOM* one small segstion maybe swap the hyenas and lions habitat around as the lions one is quite cramped. This is just a suggestion you can disagree:)
Thank you so much ❤️ We actually move the lions later in this series and open up the lion and hyena habitat to become one habitat :)
@@DeLadysigner ok sorry! Have great day/ night!
I have only one word for it, beautiful
Have you ever been to Burgers Dierentuin? It’s my favorit zoo in the Netherlands. The Zoo has many cool animals and buildings one could use as inspiration.
OMG I love those habitats they look awesome just like always have you scraped inama zoo? It’s been a while since you’ve uploaded for that series anyway great build as always! 😁
Something I notice is that all the habitats you make are way too small.. Give these animals some good space! :D
I really think that you need to do a franchise city zoo. Up the challenge but I agree with learning this game. It takes awhile to learn it and the things you can do with that knowledge.
