Its not even remotely close... go listen to "Dayar - E - Dil Ki Raat Mein " back to back with Sharara lol. But yes, Sunidhi is a historic singer in her own right. Shes the first singer with that type of alto, westernized, raspy voice to become a mainstream artist of hindi cinema. AND shes a PERFORMER.

Geeta Dutt was far more versatile than Asha even in 50s Geeta Dutt sounded so much modern than any of her contemporaries. From among Shreya and sunidhi I think Shreya is miles ahead in both range and voice quality though sunidhi is also a fabulous singer .

Independent productions in our industry, even from gems like Salim and Sulaiman aren't immune to a big commercial project being released along side. It has had a loyal fan base for more than a decade, and it's promoted more than this.
