  • Hello Copic colorist friends! A few weeks ago I posted my Copic Marker Basics and asked on social media for topics that weren't covered or could use another discussion - so the Copic Numbering System is one that came up a number of times. Thank you for a very informative video lesson. You are one very talented artist, and I have learned so much from you. I am new to Copics, even though I have had them for a couple of years. I don't know what I am saving them for, so it's time to use them. Wishing you a Happy Birthday!

I’ve watched your videos for years ... you’ll never cease to amaze me ! You’re a wizard when it comes to color. I’ve told so many people, you can look at two cards with identical images on them - when a card is colored properly, with colors blended nicely and well placed highlights, the difference is mind boggling. I’m unable to achieve either of those techniques, but I’m trying, and your explanations are incredibly helpful. Thank you !

This is absolutely the best teaching tutorial I have ever heard!!!!! I have struggled so much with blending, and all your advice helps explain why. I am going to give it a try. I am mostly interested in colouring critter images with natural colours, for cards. Thanks a bunch!!!!

Another awesome video!! If I had practiced your techniques enough that my card would be respectable I would love to send you a card. Maybe next year!!

Great tutorial even though I don’t have Copics. Well, I have three, BG000, BG0000, blender. I have the full set of Spectrum Noir markers. I wish I had Copics, but as just a hobby I can’t justify the investment. Your card turned out so stinkin cute. I love those colors. I really like how you did the lamb, that was cool.

Great info on Copics. I will download the chart so I have a good reference. I bought a set of 64 Copics quite a few years ago, It's silly, I know, but I tend to save them for special projects. But I'm starting to use them more (what am I saving them for?). I look forward to sending you a card and joining in your party! TFS

I bought about 75 Copics when I got lucky on a scratch off lottery ticket. I’m not a frequent user either, I just don’t have time. When I finally got back to my markers several had gone dry 😞. It seems as tho the light colored markers dry more quickly, possibly because they contain more alcohol. I bought some refills, and needed replacement brushes as well (changed a few over to fine point nibs). My point is, you’re right, no point saving them for special projects. Use your Copics - have fun !

I like Memento tuxedo black (don’t get the pigment version) or Lawn Fawn jet black (which also works for watercolor) bit.ly/2IF1WxZ
