Great video! Always sharing such helpful and useful knowledge! Tony Williams sure left us all a legacy of amazing drumming to aspire to and learn from.
Thanks mate, always good to see you in the comments! There’s actually 2 bits opposite each other, mainly because the room I record in is so small so it just helps to tame it a bit! Hope you’re well mate! Alex 👊
Whatever you're used to always feels best. Of course, it can also be difficult to gauge whether doing something like changing your hand position is an improvement because after a month or so whatever change you make is likely to feel best regardless. That said, it's *much* easier move your hand forward on the stick compared to what you're used to than it is to move it back. Drummers like Tony Williams, Nate Smith, etc. who err towards the back of the stick tend to have a more dynamic fulcrum.
This video is gold! :D
Ah thanks mate, stoked you enjoyed it! This was a well fun one to make haha! Alex 👊
Why doesn’t this have more views!?

Ik it's a video about ride cymbals but what are the hi hats, 15' or 16' k lights? They sound wicked
Thanks mate! Yeah they are 15” k light! Alex 👊
Good points! Love Tony & enjoy the journey;). Love that light ride sound. You have one piece of tape under?

What sticks used for this video?
Here I’m using vater sweet rides but usually I use vic firth aj 6. 🤜
RE Balance point:
Something to consider--look at how far back Tony's right typically is when he's playing the ride pattern compared to yours.
Just gotta do what feels best for you! Alex 👊
