I came to the USA 55 years ago when I was 20 years old. There were very very few Indians in the USA. I was one of those. I faced all kinds of difficulties in those days. The items you are describing are cultural shocks, there were no Indian grocery stores, timing of stores open/close, heating and air conditioning, vegetarian foods, Indian shoes ( not working in 12 feet of snow) and so many others, American college system and its grading system. Finally, I wrote a book (200 pages) about my experiences in the USA. The title of the book is "Eight $ Immigrant". I came to the USA with eight $ in my pocket. I grew up in a small place and did my matriculation in Gujarat, 19 miles from Bhavnagar called Songadh. Now I am a naturalized US citizen.
I am so glad I am watching your video and both of you are doing a superb job of describing all aspects of life in the Netherlands. Coming from India and living in a foreign land in itself a challenge.

Weather and lonely life are two very big factors that deteriorate your mental health slowly but surely.
When you are young you are motivated , but staying for a longer period of time in these countries take it's toll on person's mental and physical health....
Keep occupied with constructive activities, volunteer groups, friends. Loneliness is not good anywhere! Also do meditation, reading, study, etc.
When I visited Netherlands - it was damn silent , it was a big challenge to live with such silence 😂

I went to Poland in spring (June). When I reached there it was sunny. I skipped my lunch and thought of having a wonderful dinner after returning from a walk. It was around 9:30pm but no sunset. I was Damn hungry but all the restaurants were closed. 😭
In Europe you would find these time things are so prominent. 1.Transport 2. Restaurants 3. Movies etc. Not a single minute idhar udhar. In that way we Indians are unruly but we are accommodative. 😎😀

Timing and punctuality is very important in life. Unfortunately, in India we are hard workers but never give importance to punctuality.

We had faced the problem of narrow staircase when we had rented a Airbnb apartment in Rotterdam when we were touring Netherlands with family.
oh yes, for tourists it's really a nightmare when they face these stairs....but hopefully you had fun except that in your trip :)

Wonderful videos by Desi couple on the go, I exactly went through these challenges when I was in netherlands in 2009 to 2013 for higher studies and worst experience of loneliness as I lived alone.

Your videos are awesome! Really enjoyable and thorough in explanations. All countries have their typical weirdness I guess. But we're grateful that we have no issues getting Indian groceries or stores in NZ! And our weather is better too. Though there are cold spots in NZ too. 😁

Not just the right hand drive, but being extra cautious of the bikers here in Amsterdam while driving is a big big challenge. We moved from Delhi and It's been 6 months for us here in Amsterdam, but still getting used to that change.
