Hiking up to Mt Jefferson, Idaho

took 4 teens who have not hiked all that much up to the highest peak we have here. i stare at it all the time from the cabin and today we set out for the summit.
the wildflowers were beginning to fill the valleys and south slopes and the sun sparkled off the geodes that lay all over the place.
the kids did great
2 had to stay put before the summit as there shoes were no holding up, but 2 forged ahead and battled the elememts and sore muscles and broke through percieved limits to find they had more reaolve than they imagined.
it was a looong slow hike back to say the least but all came down with higher bars and limitless potential moving forward.

How long did it take you to get to the trail head from the lake? July?

yes, July..all tolled, it was well over 8 hours..
