House was a very athletic individual before his leg was busted. The loss of being able to exercise and engage in outdoor activities he liked is what contributed to him being increasingly bitter. Of course when he regained good use of his leg he would take full advantage of returned mobility. It's all the more tragic that he loses it again later.
TheKpa11 ah. Thank you. I found it back when I was looking Up twin flames. Cause Me and My Ex believed we were... I still love the image, even if in the end me and my ex ended up being more like House and Cuddy. We love each other, but were incompatible.
This scene actually inspired me to start running back at college. 10 years later I’m still at it. Running made me stronger and for that alone I’ll never forget this show
Notice how he doesn't quite limp, but still has a stronger step with his left side, like at 5:34 . Years of limping would affect the walking even if it just stopped. Great detail.
I have that; I had a serious injury to my left leg when I was younger, and even though its painless now, I still limp due to the increased strength in my other leg
That scene in the clip where House slides in and goes "what happened?" is actually the very end of my favorite segment of the entire series. It's where House and Cameron are having a disagreement and House says "you've forgotten about one thing, I can do this now!" and comically runs away trying to beat her to the patients room. I've never laughed with a warmer heart
I loved when house bounced the ball off chases head and he didn't even mind, and then house tossed it to him and he caught it. That little moment shows how close house and chase were imo.
Wouldn't you be? Going from living in pain every day for years, not being able to walk without assistance and suddenly (admittedly after being shot) you can really MOVE and never feel that same pain? I doubt anyone wouldn't be ecstatic at that point
You're saying that as if he wouldn't be happier without his cane and pain-free leg... ... Is it just me or is the sky blue? ... Don't most birds fly? Wouldn't House be sad and depressed if he lost his leg and had to use a prosthetic??
Xcution Unknown If House lost his leg he would be an amputee which sucks but he would still have a wife to help him get through it and he wouldn't be in pain 24/7, so no he would be far better off than he is now.
Wesley Wallace Oh, okay. I could say that if House lost his leg, he would be an amputee which is sad and depressing. He would have a wife to support him, but he still finds relief through the various drug-addictions that had him lose his leg to begin with. His wife leaves him due to the drug addiction, and he is left miserable and even more handicapped without the opportunity of reviving his leg like in this video. He'll always regret the people who pushed him to lose the leg. What we're talking about are variables mixed with unpredictable outcomes; so yes and no on your conclusion to my question.
I wish the show had ended with House getting the courage to do what should have been done from the beginning, chop of that leg. That damaged leg was literally the weight that kept dragging him to the bottom.
I think that house became a bit more accepting of his current medical condition so that whenever he might be required to do anything physically strenuous he might take cadamine to allow him to walk properly for a period of time he might go on a athletic performance diet and whenever he might require he'll take the kind of mean and you'll walk which is actually pretty cool by the way it's kind of like Professor x in men taking the serum to allow him to walk properly for short period of time. Or how a person who suffers from cognitive impairment takes a brain treatment drug and is able to think and even Excel and thinking processes for a few hours allowing him or her to even out think most people in a room and when the drug wears off she or he goes back to being unfortunately impaired
I remember seeing my mom watch this show on TV These past 4 days I have been looking at various videos of house on this channel and I looked up the theme cause it was so good. It's nice to know later down the road house changes and I was like wow and then gorillaz came on and I'm like oh hell yeah
As a drummer, I absolutely LOVE (whether it was intentional or not) that his strides match up to the time signature (beat) of the song. Great song selection, too.
Moments like this really explain House bitterness especially when he says “it’s not fair” because after seeing this, it’s not he has freedom and happiness and (again) it gets taken away.
When I watched this episode last month. It inspired me to put Feel Good Inc on my MP3 player and go for a run at 3 AM in the morning. Verdict: I can't run for more than a minute without wanting to die. It was a good experience though. I wanna get more active. Sad a guy with a cane can run longer than I can.
EPrimeify if you want to build cardio fast and generally lowerblood pressure, try interval training. I reccomend the elliptical machine at a gym. Start going full tilt for a minute, then 30 second break. Once that gets easy, up the time at full tilt to 1:15, then 1:30 etc. Do it for 20m to 30m. Time goes by fast than just running too.
Thanks for the advice. When I was about 14, I used to go on the eliptical we had at home, listen to "Harder" by Kanye West and just give 'er. I would go hard and not stop until the song was over. At the time; probably not a good idea, but it was the first time I felt the effects of working out. Doing it every day I would feel I was able to run faster and longer and better.
I love this series but its so funny how everybody argues with house every time and yet he's always right. You would think at some point they would just trust him.
I thought it was a bit strange that he was able to run / be as active as he was on his leg. Because his leg didn't just "Hurt", it was missing muscle, which makes me wonder how well that leg could support his weight
Back in the years when that show was still in production, extensive muscle reconstruction was close to a pipe dream. The evolution of regenerative medicine today is insane.
PLEASE upload the clip of House yelling “thats the point!” At foreman after he has to amputate the woman’s leg in the season finale. It was one of the best scenes of the show
i agree. A lot of people like the "life is pain" speech he gave to taub but i always thought the "thats the point" scene was more real. It sounded less rehearsed, and like he was actually disappointed
I can't imagine finding myself without pain. The 2hrs I got one time made me cry like crazy. The funny part is I have has pain so long that I don't notice it until it reaches the point that I can't do anything. Feeling no pain made me realize how much it affects my life.
In a way, I can understand. I didn’t realize how severe my anxiety problems were until I got drunk for the first time, and it suddenly was gone. It suddenly felt like I could BREATHE. Like something was no longer strangling me from the inside out. Since then I’ve battled with alcohol abuse, as well as various forms of mental health treatment trying to correct it. Or at least help it.
I love that you keep uploading great content like this!! Thank you! You're helping keep the show alive and introducing more people to this amazing show.
It's easier than you'd think, unfortunately. Lots of people (mostly poor & racialized) live in "food deserts", ie. places that have no accessible grocers, so the only food available is cheap and processed, meaning little to no vitamin content. Also, while the price of processed foods may have declined, the price of fresh fruits and veggies has been climbing way over the rate of inflation for some time, and seems to be accelerating. The estimated number of undernourished people in America is staggering, even though empty calories are more available than ever.
Wilson and Stacy have both said that, even though House likes to blame all his misery on his pain, he was pretty much just as miserable before the infarction as after it.
@@michaelccozens Before House had his leg scooped out like a melon, he was already a jaded, sharp tongued cynic who delivered curt barbs to anyone he deemed intellectually inferior to him...which was pretty much EVERYONE. He assumed it was the Scottish accent dude, but thanks to Wilson's surreptitious DNA testing, it was revealed that even THIS dude (matching moles on their male members notwithstanding) is not House's biodad. House's childhood father figure, a military man, was known for his harsh wildly out of proportion to the offense discipline (per "One Day, One Room"). We know that House learned early on that ONLY results matter and the person that can deliver results evades/overcomes/renders impotent all social norms, hierarchical structures and dictates (as per "Son of Coma Guy" where a janitor, having the lowest social status, still commanded everyone's attention because he knew his stuff and got results...at the hospital where he was consulted on the case nobody else could solve. After all, his mom lied, his bio dad lied (having had an affair with a married woman and having NOTHING to do with his son), the Scottish neighbor guy lied in diddling his married neighbor, and NONE of them respected social norms, morals, dictates etc. Meaning House realized very early on that such things are all a big gigantic farce. The janitor in Japan whom they all shunned made them all shut up, pay attention and follow his words because...in the end, the only thing that matters is GETTING RESULTS! There are a lot of patients there who go once a year.
How come I get the recommendation to this great show 20 years after it was aired?? I didn't know it existed at all... all the better now, I love the replays.

You can totally relate to this. I'm sure everyone would do the same. First thing you do when you get your legs back after years or pain and inability to walk normally, is to run as much as you can.
A Zander_HH They had to get permission from the band Gorillaz. Edit. I just noticed Jesse's hand changed positions between takes.
I'm actually doing ketamine treatment for chronic pain in my feet and legs and it works when nothing else does :) mine usually wears off in about a month but I keep going back for "booster" treatments that's what most chronic pain patients do.
...
I also just got out of the hospital after needing lung surgery for a pleural effusion 😂 man this is MY episode lol
Is it dangerous to just have them give you Ketamine every month or so then?
@@Stuart267 it can be, depending on how much is given and what kind of other medications you're taking. Usually they do it every month only for like the first 3 or 4 months then they spread it to 2 months then 3 then 5, and so on until it has changed your brain function for good. There are a lot of patients there who go once a year.
@@swimfast724 hmu with those take-homes
"House is back" YOU CAN'T JUST CASUALLY SAY THAT. OH MY POOR HEART.
A sweaty House running with Feel Good Inc playing in the background is not how I thought I'd start Season 3, but here we are lmao
1 of the most emotional episodes ever
Yall know what im talking aboot 😉
House always had the best music choice
"Relax, i'm not going to burn you again. *I'M GOING TO STAB YOU! 😃😃*
This was best opening scene of any episode.
I was so happy for him the first time I saw this episode
House with gorillaz soundtrack #nice
All I could think of was the sugar sugar in the back round but the NOOT NOOT
1:00 Who the hell names their kid Edward Edwards lol 😂
The same people who gave birth to philip philips? Lol
Chase always did the most physical work out of the og 3
I love this show even more now that my favorite band gets a moment
Is there anyway you can add more Dr Nolan clips. I loved their interactions
How come I get the recommendation to this great show 20 years after it was aired?? I didn't know it existed at all... all the better now, I love the replays.
i literally can't think of a song that better represents this series than feel good inc
U and me bro
I remember when my pops saw this episode. He asked me what the song was, I told him, and he was disappointed when there was rap in it, lol
i can relate to this, needed surgery on my knee and at that point i took my legs for granted so i ran 5 miles a day before, 6 months later and back to running :)
Should have shown the part where he was on the skateboard
Great Nike commercial
wtf is with the audio again?
Feel good inc
FEEL GOOD INC LMAO
dat calculation tho - Better to likely distort original content than be flagged for clipping of original content, maybe?
Darude Sandstorm
dat calculation tho they put the pitch higher to avoid copyright
Always wished this was the alternative ending to house.
The "you going away" made me laugh do hard
One thing I love about this show is that all of the actors and characters are so appealing to look at, like sugar on the top of a good story
My fav band + my fav show = overwhelming happiness
questionable taste in music
The song got me when he was jogging 😂😂😂😆
Them keeping reminding of the leg i believe is what made it come back, the pain.
House has teeth brighter than my future
I just wish they had extended this active version of House longer. Seeing him walking in confidence, wearing properly, posing powerful is nice.
3:08 😂😂😂😂😂
ea09 Pause Exactly on 3:08
Little Gamer oh
whats so funny, just the face shes making?
fyukfy no u
I love the blatant up-pitch for copyright immunity
"What the hell does that got to do with anything?"
'Told you it was interesting."
He could've got more ketamine, but he saw his happiness as being detrimental to solving cases.
"Send him a note"? They're going to charge her hundreds of thousands of dollars. Note be damned.
love the close up showing a completely dull needle
You can totally relate to this. I'm sure everyone would do the same. First thing you do when you get your legs back after years or pain and inability to walk normally, is to run as much as you can.
Officially convinced House playlist is fire juice fuel
How long did it take to get the "all good" on feel good inc
MarineToast88 what?
A Zander_HH They had to get permission from the band Gorillaz. Meaning they had to go through alot of time and money to get not only the permision but also the copywrite claims so nobody could take it from the studio. Basicly the main studio bought the rights to use "Feel Good Inc." And that takes a lot of time
Song is called Feel good inc
This scene inspired me to start running a year ago. In the last year, I ran 5 kilometers every day. Only problem is now I'm 1825 kilometers away from home :(
Did you make it back
House is the best character i admired. I like him better than all characters i knew before.
Is this the only episode where he’s fully walking
Zones. He was given pain killers which took all the pain away for a short time.
In this epidosde, he's actually in a coma, and these are hallucinations. He was shot by a dude, went into a coma, and is still in it at this time.
I thought it was a treatment that was administered after the gun shots to his already bad leg
"I'm not going to burn you. I'm going to STAB you!"
Normally, a line like this wouldn't be funny but ...😆😆😆
