- disclaimer: i love my ostomy, it gave me freedom HOWEVER with the good always comes the bad. i am not complaining what so ever, but bad days do occur and i am always going to be honest rather than sugarcoat things. this is just my experience, it doesnt have to be yours :)

Hi Isabella, I really love this video and wanted to thank you. we all need more empathy, desperately. I had my total completion proctocolectomy with Barbie Butt Major Surgery on 21.09.23. I am still struggling with my colostomy bag and 'bum cheeks' (as my ibd nurse calls them) are very tight. also leeks occur nearly always and high output to name a few. biggest worry is the bag reacts to movement and is so sensitive. mines also fell off from the cap a few times, which is scary. now looking for a stoma belt to keep the bag stable when i am sleeping. as we know, the bag fills during sleep-time and mess is everywhere in the morning. i try to stay positive, but we all ave dark and negative days too, as you rightfully mention in this video; a realistic portrayal of what we ostamites all go through. thank you . 🙂
