well i wouldnt say we were a "good" offense. maybe "competent" or "mediocre" is a better word. our defense is the worst in the league by far. we were on the border of above average and good before losing Frankie Luvu, Brian Burns, and Donte Jackson (which i think the front office was smart trading burns and jackson, i dont think they were going to be part of our future. i think letting luvu walk was retarded tho).
1 and 2. I said it since day 1 down the road they will be close it isnt like they were 20 picks apart. So i expect similar results. They will be fine down the stretch. Carolina is figuring out football again and stroud may want to find a new team...
Panthers fan here ⚫️🐈⬛🔵 so of course I’m going to say this…but we actually don’t suck that bad anymore. Tepper stepped back a bit, Dan hit on free agency and draft picks, Brant is saving our CAP, Dave is finding the offense. We have a solid line, good and growing WR and TE, great backs. We gutted our D, which is pretty bad right now, to save the O. To be expected. We are one good draft away from being…something. But I don’t think we suck that bad anymore 🤷♂️
What’s happening is that the Texans OL has been playing horrendous this year and don’t even get me started on the OC’s play calling decisions! Us Texans fans love CJ Stroud but man, the OC and the OL need to make some massive changes, especially in that OL
Mickey, Bryce Young is just on a terrible team and hasn’t been given a good opportunity, and CJ Stroud has one of the worst o-lines and we got used to seeing him perform at such a high level last year
Young is not on a terrible team. He was playing terrible all last year and this year up until Sunday which (aside from overall stats) still wasn't "great". 263yds a 1TD meanwhile was 1/3 in the redzone. Basically left 14+ points on the field per usual. Stroud is stacked at the skilled positions with an OL that was bad last year but worse this year and an overrated play caller who doesn't know what to do with the firepower
Bryces hasnt been awesome, but good enough to earn a third year. i think the offense is good. our offensive line is pretty damn good, it was already a good unit last year (just had all five starters miss at least 3 games, 2 of them with season ending injuries before week 4 and 4 of them hit IR at one point in the year as well as a bunch of injuries to the backups). then add in Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis? great o-line. The WRs are eh, i think Legette has potential but hes struggled with drops and creating separation on deep routes. Theilien is serviceable but not a number 1 option. DJ was good before he was traded. Coker has great hands and he can separate decently but hes undersized without great speed. Chuba is great. overall is a good unit, and i think Bryce is the issue but i think Bryce still has room to develop and hes got potential to be an elite Qb.
@@kevykev388Correct but he should have many more TDs if Leggette and Moore could stop dropping the ball and Tommy Tremble dropped one after Jatavion got hurt so they need to get an X Receiver and get a TE2. The offense will be alright. Defense will be the main focus next year
That’s what somebody who don’t watch the games would say what actually is happening is the Texans OL is playing horrible and the play calling by the OC is also horrible
The panthers being “terrible” is the most laziest take to not do real research……top 15 offensive line currently 4 rookies seeing significant amount of PT, the only weakness is the defense
@magnificent7083 Eh. He's a rookie. He'll get better with time. He's already the 2nd best receiver on the team. And we have jtavion. He's a really good reciving TE already
@ he’ll definitely get better but he isn’t there yet. he definitely shows flashes of being a WR1 but for now he just has the potential. now Sanders on the other hand has the opportunity to become an elite TE in the NFL, honestly can be a top 3-5 TE in the NFL once he hits his prime
Panthers got a lot of injured players back against KC. Much better team than what they had a month ago. At one point Young had no confidence and his mechanics were shot. Does not have a great arm but he has his confidence back and is playing much better. Don't know what's up with Stroud but he has plenty of talent as demonstrated in his first season. NFL is a tough place to win.
The big thing about bryce is his anticipation and ability to read so far ahead. His arm power might be lacking, but as long as he can get the ball there before the defense with his anticipation power doesn't matter
Once the NFL keys in on you its hard to maintain. CJ is going though that. Bryce was considered a bust and left to rot and the poor guys team won't help him.. but it means he has a shot to grow. Both will end up fine as long as they dont get grave yarded.
Panthers offense is fine. Bryce has to step up. CJ needs an OL. They're worse than last year and they were bad then too. Texans are stacked at the skilled positions but the play caller can't handle that much firepower and then there's injuries
I said this when they were drafted. If u look carefully enough its similar to the draft with Wilson, Kaepernick, and RG3. Bryce is wilson small, mobile, does well out the pocket. Cj is colin, he is flashy n looks good but the team is holding him back. AR 15 is RG3 athletic freak held back by injuries. Which one has a ring?
Honestly , the panthers are on the come up . They invested in the O-line , drafted play makers , the team has bought in . They’re not the Giants or Saints which are falling apart . I could see them winning at least 2-3 more games to finish out the year then draft HEAVY Defense next year
The panthers are one draft and free agency away from competing and being good. We just need an Edge, CB, Safety, Wr. Also Dan morgan is the new GM and Tepper took a step back in the organization. We also hired new scouting personnel and a new person from the KC chiefs to be in charge of the cap
TLDR: Texans Oline bad, playcalling bad, safeties bad, no accountability from HC for offense sucking. I haven't given up on CJ or the Texans yet because we know the talent is there, but there's so much to polish that hasn't shown any signs of being close to cleaned up and it's throwing off the whole team. The Oline is terrible despite mostly being the same as last year, they draw flags at a crazy rate, especially Tunsil, and CJ has no time to make many good decisions. He's also somehow just not throwing the ball the same either, as most of his floaters to midfield don't have the same touch and arc as they did last year. Then comes the coaching man. Bobby Slowik should've taken the Carolina job 😂 bro is so persistent on trying to get a run game going even when the run clearly isn't working even with a better back in Joe smackin hoes Mixon. Whatever creativity and flow he had last season is gone, all drained up and it's clear as day. And then DeMeco Ryans doesn't hold his coaches accountable and throws the defense under the bus, even though the offense couldn't cross the 50 yard line in the second half vs Tennesse and the D got a pick 6. Biggest defensive downside tho is definitely safety, which is worse now with Jalen Pitre hurt.
I wouldn’t say Stroud’s disappointing season is really his fault. The playcalling has been downright atrocious and the O-line is letting everyone through
Man...i still cant believe we lost to the Titans. CJs picks are always when he has poor footwork. Idk if its because the defensive pressure or what. Defense missing a lot of tackles too...
Yo MichaelBeGreat do you think Alabama could make the playoffs if South Carolina beats Clemson because you also have to include the loser of the ACC championship is out and only 1 big 12 team is making it and only 1 ACC team is making it and only 1 group of 5 team is making it so that is 4 spots for the Big Ten and 5 spots for the SEC So I think from Bama, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, and South Carolina what do you think
And those Statts not even showing the whole Truth. The INT vs the Saints was not really an INT. It was a 30 Yard Completion and got taken away from the Defender. In the Last two Games there where costly Drops aswell. Could had been 50+ Yards and a couple of Tuddies more
CJ Stroud is having a sophomore slump. its not uncommon, especially in quarterbacks. teams get film and figure him out, staff members are hired away, etc. Stroud is still developing, and he'll keep getting better. his numbers might not get much past his rookie year, but he'll get better and win more games. as for Bryce, he was playing terribly in the first two games. significantly worse than his rookie year. Canales was like "yeah this isnt working. slow the game down young buck." and bryce comes back and he's got some things figured out after watching Dalton. Im not the first guy to say "let QBs learn behind veterans" but you cant argue with results. I think it varies from Qb to Qb without any one size fits all answer to whether or not a Qb should sit to start their career. back to Bryce's career, the game against the Broncos was a little same old same old. either he didnt throw downfield, or he did and it was a mixed bag at best with the results (hence the higher yards 2 tds and 2 picks). then against New Orleans and New York he doesnt light it up, but Chuba Hubbard has the offense going and Bryce is only asked to make 4-5 big throws in the whole game and he makes most of them. His 1 INT against New Orleans his receiver had a deep pass right in the bread basket but the DB ripped it away (should have been a fumble in my eyes). anywho, against Kansas City the run game does dead cold and the defense cant stop a nosebleed. so what does Bryce do? he steps up in a big way. He was SLINGING IT. didnt light up the box score at the end of the game (only 245 yards) but he only had 8 possessions because both teams were moving the ball really well. 6 drives ended in points for the panthers. he was the guy making plays for carolina when no one else was, and that game is a sign of progress. honestly, unless he has a total meltdown, that one game was enough for me to want Bryce as the starter for next season and use our pick on Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter.
Bryce got brought into a bad situation... and you can't ask an undersized guy who was drafted for his mental abilities to shine in a completely unpredictable and constantly changing (because coaches are getting fired) situation. I mean... he was drafted for his ability to anticipate and given nothing to anticipate. That seems to be changing now that he's in a system that has been given time to develop. Stroud's situation has been the complete opposite... He was given a good situation from the start, and now NFL defenses know how to plan for him.
CJs OL went from bad last year to terrible this year. He's stacked at WRs and RB but it was rare for all of them to be healthy. The overrated playcaller has his hands full with all that firepower. The HC, likeable guy but that's literally it so far.
Hey Matt panthers fan here feel like your not giving the team enough credit. The O-line was shored up this offseason and is now on me of the better lines in the league. The receivers are a bit better. Especially after Diontae Johnson got released who was apparently a huge locker room cancer. Running backs are great. The only real problems we’ve had this year has been QB which has gotten better now but if you look at Bryce film from earlier this year he was not moving smooth in the pocket at all. And the defense is ass.
Stop going off last uear when it was koas this team this yr not terrible just been beat up and just getting a chance to play together new coaches and GM ,next year then you can make a assessment

The narrative the carolina panthers suck I think is excessive. Are they a good team no but they are a frisky team and don’t give up on games. The panthers have an elite Oline pretty good receivers in Xavier Leggette, Jalen Coker and J’tavion Sanders. The run game is elite with Chubba and Jonathan Brooks. The defense isn’t good but I like Jaycee Horn he needs an extension, Derrick Brown is awesome, Josey Jewell has been good and so has Trevin Wallace, I also like DJ wonnum.
Remember when 1st round qb picks were given 3 or 4 years before we said they were busts?

Cj’s been getting his teeth knocked in by horrendous o-line play… that’s what’s wrong with him
