I think that it's a good read, but (and it's a small caveat) the start is a little bit long. The second half of the book is full of so much gentle excitement that I honestly couldn't put it down for too long (I was hindered in my reading during that part by work).
That was interesting, I just kept on waiting for her to find herself and I didn't feel she did until she finally moved away from her past (Longbourne, her mother, her sisters).
@@beingbookishpod I think I identified with her from the start. I think she knew who she was. Bright and curious, lonely and neglected. I didn't think she needed a man to save her or rescue her. London and her family there gave her the opportunity to shine. Still think Caroline Bingley had all the makings of a serial killer and Charlotte Lucas is the coldest hearted person in all of literature. Loved your channel. I just read The Famished Road by Ben Okri - so beautiful and Watership Down ( Game of Thrones meets Handmaid's Tales but as rabbits )- so tense and dramatic. I kept telling myself they were rabbits and not to care so much. I failed. Great book.
Caroline Bingley is an interesting one. That's a different take, and I like it. I read Watership Down as a kid (and in the early 80s, it was regular summer holiday viewing...) it's impossible to detach from the characters.
Very articulate❤
Thank you.
Really enjoyed your review of The Other Bennet Sister. I've been eyeing that one for a while.

@@beingbookishpod That's good to know about the start!
I adored The Other Bennett Sister. Mr Collins in a love triangle. Wow
