Great video. You are the first one that I've seen listing out the other civ balances. It's refreshing compared to everyone just running through the new civs. Love the quality, keep it up!
Wow!!how did you get this quality is so good, so fast! I like the Quality over quantity approach👍🏻 keep it up and you’ll become one of the goats off aoe🐏
No matter whether you play AoE 2 and/or 4 - these are amazing times for sure when two high quality DLCs will be released in such a short time between them :o
6:00 Holy crap that Bimaristan option will be insane. So long as you attach a few monks to each of your armies they are all able to regenerate on the fly while marching now. *And those who are not healed during march will quickly have that made up once they stop.
Yep, now your whole army can roleplay as Berserks! :D Not worth it for cavalry imo, as they'll slow your forces down a lot. But for infantry and archers (Saracens have good archers) this makes them a LOT more durable.
I am about to go crazy trying to mod the Persians so i can have dismounted Savar. I want an entire late game army of gold cavalry and infantry backed up by elephants.
Curious if the byzantine healing speed bonus will apply towards the warrior monks and saracen general healing and if converting a saracen monk will keep that bonus of healing while moving.
Wait, if the new armenian composite bowman has great matchup against chu ko nu and rattan archer, which are anti anti archer archers, that mean they are the anti anti anti archer archer?
Fairly common opinion that I share as well :- ). As professional CGI artist, let me offer my guesses: The pre-rendered AoE2 assets are stunningly detailed, down to every brick. Aoe4 on other hand focused on rather low-detail models perhaps due to both readability and easier for performance. Some might call it cartoony but I think it's just not that well executed. AoE3 had some readability issue but still had lot more detail decade earlier. The odd proportions and wide-angle fish-eye-like camera just compounds everything further.
They need to modify Byzantines too. I suggest to modify logistica in order to make cataphracts in stables too and reduce their cost in food and/or gold. They should have legionaries too like romans. Besides this they could start with a monastery and a relic but have much less gold income until castle age. Their monks should be a little cheaper as well. I also suggest to add a new church/mosque buildings
Always appreciate these videos. Magyar huszars received a huge buff, the fact you don't understand how valuable food is in castle age, is funny considering you like to deep dive these types of things. Remember how useful eagles are, and how much that slight increase to food cost hurt them.
Thanks mate. :) Regarding your latter point, there's a major difference between Eagles and Magyar Huszars, and it's the fact that you need Castles. You cannot casually build 2+ Castles in the early-to-mid Castle Age and still afford to train them constantly. By the time you can afford to do so, then food becomes less valuable and gold begins to become a problem as you begin to run out of your main ones. As mentioned in the video, it's still an overall buff - but I don't expect the Magyars to rush one Castle just to train the Magyar Huszars before picking up Corvinian Army. You're far more likely to just go for the Scouts into Knights opening, or FC into Knights directly depending on the game.
why would you make Magyar hussar when you can just make Light cav, or even knights though. Sure the food helps, but 45 gold is no slouch either, even on Castle age. Not to mention massing Castle vs Massing stables is a bit of a sketch. You will most likely want to upgrade your Scouts to light cav anyways since its probably the most common Magyars opener. Though i doubt this will make the civ great on open maps as their main weakness is their lack of eco bonus
Kind of off-topic but are you using one of the colour mods in the footage here? I swear that's been broken for months and I can never seem to get it to work anymore!
Nice video as always (I'm catching up on yt :P )I have a question that just popped my mind on Bimaristan: does the passive healing rate double with a Byz Ally??? That would be really strong! :D Ah also: 8:20 I 100% agree!!!
It would be fair to add the Turkomans as the ancestors of the Azerbaijanis, instead of the Persians (they are already there, what’s the point of adding a second Persia). The Turkomans (Azerbaijanis) ruled Persia for more than 800 years, from the 11th century until the beginning of the 20th century, starting with the Eldegiz Atabeks and ending with the Qajars.
I hate the monk nerfs. Really really hate them. This is one where the pros are just wrong. Monks being dominant in the meta is so much more interesting than every other meta we've ever had, like crossbow and wall etc. them being OP is fine as they don't scale into imp.
Finally slav bonus is back to way it should be + finally for fuck sake Camel riders are getting buffed, I have made like 2 reddit posts 3 years ago about them being too weak and now finally they are getting buffed
This seems so broken. 80 HP 11 Attack castle age unit in ridiculous. With sanctity thats 95 HP. If they are slow you have both fervor and squires. Imagine a forified church drop since they don't cost any stone at all. You do a castle rush, drop a fortified church next to your opponent (or multiple since they are so cheap) and train warrior monks to finish your enemy off.
@@frankieseward8667 They get that cart thing. That will save a decent amount of wood with rebuilding or building stuff. The fortified church only costs 200 wood also. It isn't like a castle where its any actual investment. You just drop a stonger than town center tower next to your enemy for esentially no cost.
Armenian civ bonuses: mule carts cost 25% less (still cost a little food, which is a downside, but I think the upsides and lower wood cost will more than make up for that). Mule cart technologies 25% more effective (so basically improves most of the economic upgrades). Free relic (might not come until castle age, but still would help with training monk units). I don't know how the mule carts will effect their economy quite yet, but I expect they'll have a strong economy throughout the game.
@@jksimmons2009 The game tries to be as balanced as possible. Plus if the game was supposed to realistic the Armenians would not be this strong compared to other countries.
The AoE3 crew is occupied with remaking Age of Mythology, with better visual effects, reworked factions (Norse might lose their wall building), redubbed voice lines, etc..
I think it would have made more sense to see the mule cart for the Mongols and Huns, as they lived a nomadic life. I would also like to see a separate architecture set for the Armenians and Georgians.
I absoutely love your sytle of content man I just am not that interested in covering the detail of the game's mechanics too much, I just have too much fun playing the single player content i.e the campaigns I wonder if that's okay to cover? I find it interesting how your analysis about this change is different from SotL's.
I would say that it depends on the availability of gold.

Can somebody explain to me why this game seems more beautiful than AoE4, which is supposed to be a modern game?
I have this theory that AoE4 was originally a mobile game.
Really? I think 4 looks miles better.

I think these are very good monk changes, but I'm still afraid that the fortified church of the new civs will make monk rushes broken.
Who knows, but I kinda agree with that, maybe lowering the attack of the fortified church or increasing their cost can make something
